2021 Toyota Venza hybrid SUV Buying Advice

We will recommend the XLE trim from the Toyota Venza lineup. It comes with the most significant number of Driver assists and features in the lineup after the Limited trim, without spending much, as would be done in the case of the top trim. The XLE trim comes with many features that make it stand apart from front and rear parking sensors, a 12.3” inch infotainment screen, a 7” inch instrument cluster, and a proximity key.

2021 Toyota Venza hybrid SUV Engine and Performance

8.0/10

The 2021 Toyota Venza delivers excellent fuel economy and decent power with an upscale look inside and out. - The Car Connection

The 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid is offered a 2.5L Inline 4-cylinder engine mated to three electric motors, for a combined output of  219 hp and 206 lb.-ft of torque. The powertrain is joined with a CVT transmission and comes standard with an All-Wheel-Drive. One larger electric motor powers the rear wheels, and the other electric motors work on each front wheelset.

The 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid is capable of crossing the 60 MPH marker from a standstill in 7.6 seconds and gets a quarter-mile timing of 15.8 seconds. The suspension setup is inclined towards the softer side, which makes the new Venza Hybrid feel a bit more sluggish and a bit shy to the tight bends. However, that said, the 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid still offers a decent ride.

The 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid and the 2021 RAV4 Hybrid share the same underpinnings. However, the RAV4 still feels a bit more responsive & and well mannered on the tight bends. Moreover, the RAV4 Hybrid also costs less & offers a better value for money. That being said, the Venza Hybrid is the latest addition to the Toyota line-up & offers better features as well as efficiency.

The electrochromic glass which allows the driver to switch from transparent to frosted mode within a second. - Kelley Blue Book

For the 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid interiors, the use of hard-touch plastic is kept as minimum as possible but with bits of it here and there. The center console gets the wood trim soft-touch plastic material used all over, which gives it a premium look without the hassle. Overall, the Venza is longer than the RAV4 on which it is based, but this doesn't translate into the more interior volume. Also, the Venza Hybrid is the first Toyota to get a Star Gaze fixed Panoramic sunroof, however, it still will cost you $39,800 as the Star Gaze is only available with the Limited trim level.

The 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid also comes with hands-free liftgate technology and offers a low lift-over height for convenience and with a USB port in the back and steel scuff plates to avoid any scratches. The cargo capacity of the 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid is the largest in comparison, which is 36.3 cu.-ft. Simultaneously, the Blazer offers the least cargo space despite being the longest in the segment.

2021 Toyota Venza hybrid SUV Exterior

The 2021 Venza ditches the dorky front fascia and frumpy rear end of the old car for something sleek, forward-looking - MotorTrend

The 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid is a new addition to the Toyota line-up, and it gets some exquisite features like the Star Gaze Panoramic Sunroof, 18" alloy wheels, Active grille shutter, and aerodynamic side garnish which set it apart from the new 2021 RAV4 Hybrid. The RAV4 still maintains a fairly boxy design that can feel a bit dated.

The Venza also gets LED projector headlamps with dual LED DRLs, which gives it a captivating presence. On the rear, the 2021 Venza gets a long sleek LED brake light that seems familiar nowadays, but the weirdest thing in the rear would be the indicator light placement on the rear bumper much below the brake lights tricky for the driver behind to spot them.

2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid Vs. 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

The 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid shares its underpinnings with the 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid as they both get a 2.5L naturally aspirated engine paired with electric motors for added power & efficiency. The Venza Hybrid gets a starting price tag of $32,470 while the RAV4 Hybrid steps in at about $4,000 less. Both get a similar power output power, however, as the Venza Hybrid has been redesigned from the ground up, it looks more dated. The 2021 Venza Hybrid offers more luxury features like the Star Glaze, newly designed headlamps and also feels more premium.

The 2021 RAV4 on the other hand gets a dated boxy design, however, is a better performer. The trade-off between the two is majorly related to the cosmetic changes & luxury touches. Overall considered, in case you want to go for a practical vehicle with a better utility, then the 2021 Toyota RAV4 is the one. However, in case you want more added luxury and features, then the new 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid is the one to go for.

2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid Vs 2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid

The 2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid gets a 2.0L gasoline engine paired with electric motors, which is a similar concept as the new 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid. However, the CR-V gets the maximum torque in the segment & is also faster in a 0-60 MPH sprint. The new CR-V has a starting price tag of $27,850, which is rather similar to the RAV4, which is considerably cheaper than the Venza Hybrid. However, the new Venza Hybrid still outshines the Honda in terms of luxury & more value-added features. The Venza Hybrid is surely a better daily driver as it hosts a long list of features that come in handy in a day-to-day drive.

2021 Toyota Venza hybrid SUV Final Verdict

The 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid has been released in the U.S and it now steps in with a starting price of $32,470. The compact SUV has been completely redesigned and it now gets a hybrid powertrain as standard. The price range goes all the way up to $39,800 for the 'Limited' trim level. The Venza Hybrid boasts a long list of standard features that add to the value of money.

However, in case you can make some compromise with the list of features in return for better performance, we would still recommend you the new 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, as it costs considerably less and gets almost similar power figures as the 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid.
