The Toyota Tacoma is a practical mid-size pickup truck first and an off-road toy second- CarAndDriver

The 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab is a midsize pickup truck that is well-known for its extraordinary off-road features. Its powerful yet efficient powertrain helps it to tackle rougher terrains without any hesitation. The rough-truck exterior styling is still relevant this time around. However, the story is different on the inside as its cabin layout feels cheapy and cramped. The 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport does come with good technological and safety features to compromise for that.

The 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport has a lease price of $403 per month for 36 months. While signing the lease deal, an amount of $3,053 has to be put down on the table. You can even finance it with a 4.19% APR rate for a period of 72 months. Compared to its rivals, the ownership costs of the 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport is really less. It costs around $9,440 per year which includes fuel, maintenance, repairs, etc. Also, it costs $0.63 per mile, which is good in its segment.

The latest Tacoma is pretty well stocked with tech features- Edmunds

The interior of this 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport is of a different era. This model relies heavily on hard plastics and minimalistic materials. The Double Cab configuration can seat up to five people while cloth upholstery is standard. The seats are comfortable and offer a good amount of support. Six-footers may find headroom to be slightly less in both rows. On the bright side, legroom is ample in the front row but again at the back, it feels cramped. The truck also gets the option of two cargo beds- a short bed (5 feet) and a standard bed (6.1 feet). The short bed has a payload capacity of 1,505 pounds while the standard bed increases the number to 1,620 pounds.

The exact appearance of the Tacoma depends on how you configure it, since you can mix and match the cab and cargo bed options-Carbuzz

Looking at the exterior styling of the 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab one thing is for sure that it is not going to win any beauty contest but it's definitely a brawn-looking truck. Upfront, the grille design is quite different from the lower trim levels. Halogen headlamps are standard but they can be upgraded to LED headlights while LED DRLs and fog lamps are standard. Compared to its rivals, the Tacoma sits very high at 9.4 inches, which is a big plus point for off-roading adventures.

From the side profile, the 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport looks pretty plain and clean. The wheel arches give space to 17-inch alloy wheels. Things are kept simple at the back with LED taillights and a tow hook on the lower fascia. The Tacoma TRD Sport has a wheelbase of 127.4 inches, which is quite less than its rivals. This is the reason why the rear legroom feels cramped. Overall, the 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport has a muscular look that differentiates itself from other trucks in the garage.
