"The higher trim levels rely heavily on hard plastics and minimalistic materials." Car and Driver

When it comes to the interior of the 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Double Cab that is functional but lacks some premium features that have become standard on most pickup trucks. Dual-zone automatic climate control comes as standard along with a wireless charging pad for Qi-compatible smartphones and mobile devices. Fabric-trimmed seats are standard on the 2021 Tacoma TRD Off-Road with a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat with 2-way lumbar support for the driver's seat.

You get some shiny trims scattered around the dash and door panels alongside cloth upholstery. However, the cloth material used is indeed soft and smooth to the touch. Everything that you touch feels solidly put together with no quick or creeks and most of the things are within easy reach of the driver. Talking about the seats, they are wide and nicely padded and seating five adults inside the Tacoma is no grouse at all.

Cargo Space (cu-ft.)

Despite its overall utility and flavor, the Tacoma TRD disappoints when it comes to cabin space. Taller passengers may have to squeeze in there as headroom and legroom are the least in the segment. The interior dimensions of the Toyota Tacoma are really disappointing when compared to other rivals. In its segment though, the likes of GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Colorado seem to be more promising in terms of cabin space. The Tacoma went through major updates during its 2020 iteration regarding the infotainment and advanced tech department, therefore one should not expect any major up-gradation for the same in the 2021 model of the Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road.

The 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road comes with a 4.2-in. Multi-Information Display

  • Apple CarPlay

2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Double Cab Exterior

9.0/10

"Toyota's Tacoma manages to deliver fun in a right-size pickup package." - Edmunds

The 2021 Tacoma TRD Off-Road Double Cab looks exactly like a proper Off-roading pickup would with its imposing figure and rugged appearance. There is a rusty feel to the vehicle which makes it feel practical and strong as one would expect a pickup to be.

2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Double Cab three quarter view

There are not many expected changes to occur in the form of exterior stylings for the pickup and the changes that might occur are expected to be subtle in the form of redesigned bumpers or a better-looking front fascia. The floor of the TRD Off-road is high with its chunky tires highlighting the functionality of the vehicle. There are also no changes set to occur regarding the exterior dimensions of the vehicle too. The hood of the pickup makes it look really sturdy with the rear being of a classic pickup.

2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Double Cab Competition

2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Double Cab vs 2021 Ford F-150 SuperCab

The Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road is a very rugged looking practical pickup but its overall no match for the Ford as the American classic pickup has more class and better styling compared to its Japanese rival. Toyota can sit up to four people but Ford is overall more spacious and comfortable. The F-150 also has more versatility, practicality with better power and fuel economy.

2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Double Cab vs 2021 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Extended Cab

The Toyota again falls behind when compared to a classic American workhorse as the Chevy Colorado comes out on top when compared to the Tacoma Off-Road on all fronts except fuel frugality. The Chevy is more powerful and practical compared to Toyota even though it does not have the same reputation for being reliable and offering a good off-roading experience.

2021 Tacoma is our type!

Pros - It has a stick, mpg is great, easy to maintain

Cons - Nothing at all

Happy to have gone with the Toyota for our second pickup The fact that it is not a gas guzzler and has a stick transmission. Can do both off roading and hauling with nothing but ease Stick transmission is the best feature of this pickup. I'm glad they still make it Both rows enjoy cushy seats and practical convenience. The stereo works great. Hauling is so much easier because of the space inside out Looks great on road and is stays clean most of the time. Part time 4wd, great breaks, equally impressive handling, cruise control with pedestrian detection, sturdy plastics Great because of the sturdy built quality and amazing mpg No added equipment or packages except the led lights and the overall price is excellent. Toyota's are meant to hold their value and I think we got the bang for our buck Whenever I call them for anything, I get instant response and timely service. Best place to buy a Toyota in Alabama
