2022 RAM 1500 Price, Review, Ratings and Pictures

The 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab will get certain minimalist additions to its 2021 RAM 1500 iteration. The sharp and bold aesthetic and the modern interiors will remain unchanged. Change or not, the upcoming fifth-gen 2022 RAM 1500 will still be a capable workhorse with a powerful standard 3.6-liter V6 engine and a comfortable yet tech-laden interior.

Since this massive truck from RAM was thoroughly refreshed only a couple of years back in 2019, it's very likely that the 2022 Ram 1500 lineup wouldn’t see any major changes. However, rumors suggest that the hybrid powertrain might get more powerful, reaching out to the 400-hp limit. At an expected price of MSRP $33,000, the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab would continue its brawl with the likes of Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and the GMC Sierra 1500.

The RAM 1500 Crew Cab aims to be a popular pick in the segment once again. Besides being a dedicated workhorse, the upscale interiors with nicer elements and upholstery please the workmen after long hours of shifts. Among its rivals, the 2022 RAM 1500 sure has one of the best interior ambiance and one which is also sprinkled with plenty of tech and connectivity features

Even when long routes are strong patience tests, the RAM 1500 Crew Cab's feature-filled spacious cabin cocoons the occupants and lets them rest their tired muscles with ample headroom and legroom to spare. Also apart from all its muscle and ruggedness, the RAM 1500 is also comfortable in everyday tasks along with good handling disciplines.

2022 RAM 1500 Pricing and Features

Stepping into the fourth model year of its fifth-generation, the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab could see some feature reshuffling and some feature additions across its trim-levels. A touted power-bump also substantiates the aforementioned statement to some extent. However, what is unlikely to change is its six-level trim structure. Similar to its current 2021 MY, the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Caw will expectedly be available in Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Longhorn, and Limited.

Prices for the 2021 RAM 1500 starts at $32,245 for the base Tradesman and go all the way up to $59,750 for the top-tier “Limited” trim. Despite some expected nimble changes, we expect the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab to have a similar price range as well. Though all the models are essentially available as RWD only, a $3500 optional extra to grab the 4WD will be available in 2022 as well.

2022 RAM 1500 Buying Advice

From its varied six-level trim structure, we'd gladly recommend you to go forward with the 2022 RAM 1500 Rebel trim, priced at an expected MSRP of $45,320. This is a fine combination of both grunt and power from its 5.7L HEMI V8 and luxury from all the creature comforts it offers inside. The value-added Rebel trim certainly sits at a sweet spot, with features like exclusive off-road tires, and front row hooks amongst others.

2022 RAM 1500 Engine and Performance

7.0/10

On the power front, the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab carries forward the 3-gasoline engine options. Buyers would still get to choose from a standard 3.6-liter V6 and a 5.7-liter V8 aided with a 48-Volt electrical system as a hybrid gimmick. The last and the monstrous 702 hp 6.2L Hellcat V8 is reserved for the nameplate “TRX”. It's simply the Challenger SRT Hellcat among trucks.

The transmission duties will be handled single-handedly by an eight-speed automatic transmission throughout the range though. Speaking of power and capability, the 5.7-liter V8 offers plenty of grunt along with enhanced torque delivery and efficiency coming from the hybrid setup. However, the 3.6-liter V6 seems potent enough to seamlessly work away with your everyday hauling and towing requirements. Reports also have it that the 3.6-liter V6 engine may also get a hybrid treatment for 2022 further enhancing its power output.

On the move, the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab’s taught suspension feels relaxed and comfortable while the steering also allows good feedback and maneuverability. Couple that with a smooth and linear power delivery and the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab expectedly races from 0-60 mph in 7.5 seconds. You don't see these traits very often in a large pickup truck.

2022 RAM 1500 Fuel Economy

7.0/10

There are no expected changes to the powertrain on the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab, besides the forecast of a more powerful hybrid powertrain. The continued 3.6L V6 option is an efficient engine delivering EPA estimated 20 MPG in the city and about 25 miles to the gallon out on the highway which is quite respectable for a truck of such size and capabilities.

The 26-gallon fuel tank that comes with the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab will stretch its hauling capabilities to more than 550 miles, much better than what the other rivals in the segment deliver. With the expected 400-hp hybrid powertrain that is set to make its entry, the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab could finally crush the 2021 Ford F-150, its long-lost rival.

2022 RAM 1500 Interior

8.0/10

The 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab is expected with no major updates on the interior front. The recent 2019 complete revamp will continue with a plethora of features, comfortable interior housing, premium materials in the upper trim, and advanced technology bits for the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab.

No disappointment at all though since the interior of the current 2021 RAM 1500 does feel upscale, comfortable, and aptly spacious. The wide cabin is beautifully complemented by the upright massive dash which apart from the infotainment screen also houses physical climate knobs. Even the seats are wide and comfortable and in the higher trims, they also offer leather upholstery, leather steering as well as heated and ventilated power front seats.

The six trims: Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Longhorn, and Limited will continue to offer customizable interiors ranging from subtle cloth to premium leather and added convenience. The base model 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab will continue with a 5-inch touchscreen while the top-end models boast an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, Bluetooth wireless, a premium audio setup, and much more.

2022 RAM 1500 Exterior

7.5/10

The 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab is expected to continue with the same stylish exterior design cues, that have been recently upgraded with the 2019 redesign. The narrower grille flanked with slim headlights is a modern and bold attire, which is inspiring for other rivals with big grilles.

Similar to the current 2021 RAM 1500, the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab lineup will also carry their visual distinction. The Tradesman will still offer the subtle attire concentrating on the work rather than looks. While the higher trim levels of the RAM 1500 will let the buyers flaunt large amounts of shiny chrome and other eye-catching details.

With no changes with the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab, the rugged pick-up will boast the longest and the widest body. But this, in turn, decreases the ease of maneuverability of the truck but this RAM doesn’t seem to be affected or worried by the same, surprisingly.

2022 RAM 1500 Safety

The 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab will equip the plethora of similar safety features that come along with the current 2021 model. Besides, it will still be entitled as a robust engineering innovation as the 2021 RAM 1500 Crew Cab which was the first-ever pick-up truck to earn the “2021 IIHS Top Safety Pick” rating. Furthermore, the 2021 RAM 1500 also showed off its safety prowess by receiving a great 4 on 5 stars from the NHTSA.

Some of the highlighted safety features which shall also remain unchanged in 2022 are listed below:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go
  • Electronic Stability control with Roll Stability Control
  • Driveline Traction Control
  • Blindspot Monitoring with rear cross path and trailer detection
  • Lane Departure Warning Plus
  • Forward Collision Warning

2022 RAM 1500 Competition

2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab Vs 2021 Ford F-150

Compared to the RAM 1500 Crew Cab, the Ford F-150 is almost identical when it comes to overall traits and aesthetics. Both the trucks are equally capable and also offer similar engines with similar fuel economy as well.

However, owing to its lighter weight, the F-150 is more maneuverable compared to the RAM here. The latter though is not only quicker but also more comfortable on the move. Importantly, the 2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab is far more premium and tech-loaded on the inside than the Ford here.

2022 RAM 1500 Crew Cab Vs 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

With the base engine configuration, the 2021 Chevy Silverado and 2022 RAM 1500 offer close to similar power figures. However, with slightly better torque than the RAM, the 2021 Silverado is quicker among the duo.

While the Silverado also has a clean and basic interior layout but is more spacious than the RAM as well. The RAM on the other hand offers better comfort and maneuverability, an upscale cabin, and a plethora of tech and creature comfort on tap.

2022 RAM 1500 Final Verdict

For a heavy-duty pickup truck, that carries the 2021 MY recipe forward untarnished, and that can happily tow your boat while carrying your family in utmost comfort, the 2022 RAM 1500 is certainly an apt choice. It not only has ample power and a good fuel economy, but its great comfort and precise handling will also surely get you by surprise. Apart from that, it also has the best-looking and most upscale cabin in its class.

Supercharged truck

Pros - Supercharged?

Cons - Nothing at all

T rex, one of the fastest trucks out there. Has a character and loves to be revved with that supercharger whinning at the back Worth taking for a spin on a race track. The sound of supercharger demostrates euphony Has to be the supercharger that makes the best exhaust note as well as improving the overall power The cabin definately looks ahead of it's time. Quite comfortable and premium seats along with the best center console layou They've legit tried to make it beefiest and I must say they have done a great job there. I'm sure no one is looking for safety in the t rex. It's fast, it's sturdy, it's agile, and it's big. If that sounds safe, please go ahead T rex doesn't know anything about reliability and I'm okay with i Quite underpriced for a supercharged/most powerful truck if you ask me After all the hassle, we got our T rex in the immaculate and brand new condition

So many features

Pros - Tire pressure monitor for trailer too, easy to drive, bed size

Cons - Could use more badges and emblems on the outside

A truck which serves the purpose of hauling/towing/daily driving and comes at a fair price My first truck and doesn't feel like one because of the way it drives itself and doesn't feel like hefty big trucks Tire pressure monitor system not just for the truck itself but the trailer too. Not using it much but I know that counts for something Great utility inside out. Small storage space on top of ample legroom in both rows. Sure should have more badges and emblem on the outside. At the moment, it has a nice dominating body design but lacks detailing altogether Comes with advanced features like trailer tire pressure monitor in order for driver to keep a check of everything while driving Copperbottomed for sure. Not bad counting all the pros and cons They have incredible customer service and knowledgeable staff

Premium utility truck

Pros - Center stack, woodgrain finish, parking assist

Cons - Mpg, driver display guages

One of the best trucks out there Driving this brand new 1500 has always been fun. Things it can do to keep everyone safe, entertained, and comfortable inside is just impressive Drives display guage have this unreal backdrop in my opinion Interiors of Longhorn have to be the best part of this truck. Premium touches like woodgrain finish, potrait center screen and nicely designed center stack along with transmission knob is easy to use and perfectly placed. Boxed with lots of power on the display Parking assist, blind spot system, cruise control, sturdy design, strong body etc Can do mild to moderate offroading without having the driver to add anything. Strong built quality and dependable truck from Ram. The only thing it needs to check there is miles for a gallo I got a pretty decent discount on sticker price and even better apr too Well the overall process was time consuming and the fact that I had to ask for another sales person wasn't the kind of experience I was looking for. The first one we were working with didn't know much about the Ram trucks for some reason.
