Teh pricy variant

Pros - Sporty performance, impressive cornering, great cabin quality

Cons - Options are pricy

I got the best from porsche Interior it’s bigger then you think . A lot of space for luggage. High performance car and very reliable. When you drive this car , you spent 30-35k$ but all people look and ask if you spend over 100k$ when you park your car people look at you all the time. i have never owned a car that i could honestly say i loved. i have owned many high end cars & i have liked most of them but i can honestly say that this is the first one i have truly loved. Nathan is the person to get your doubts about any Porsche car. He is a sea of knowledge and knows everything about his cars. Also gave me a god deal on the car too!

2013 Panamera!

Pros - Quick shifting DCT. Interior quality. Cargo space.

Cons - Rear visibility. Expensive repairs.

Luxurious, feels great! I bought the Panamera for a really value deal only two years back. My wife actually loves being in the Panamera a lot. The interior just feels lavish and upscale. The more space on the inside only accentuates the pretty cabin. Driving the Panamera is also a smooth, sporty experience. I really love the precisely timed paddle-shifter gear changes. Because of the tiny rear glass and me being a little short, I find it really difficult to have a good visibility of the rear. And, if you're someone who's buying a Porsche for the first time, be prepared for the expensive bills, service estimates even for routine annual maintenance! I went in a couple of times for regular maintenance, involving routine filter, oil, brake rotors and pads change and also tires once, I guess. I always felt the bill to be inflated even for simple repair jobs. Now, I entrust my Porsche with a local repair shop now who specializes in luxury cars at a very nominal labour!

The entry to Porsche.

Pros - "Exceptional performance Spacious interior High-grade cabin materials"

Cons - "Poor rearward visibility Only seats four"

Best subcompact The Panamera is Porsche's signature luxury sedan, offering the highest degree of technology, style, and comfort. For those looking for a luxury vehicle with the styling, attention to detail, and driving ability of a Porsche sports car, the Panamera is a perfect alternative. Porsche Jackson has excellent support. The mechanics are excellent, and my car was returned to me immaculate and in full working condition. An intimate environment. Joe Dearman is a fantastic salesman! He immediately returned all calls and emails, and he worked hard to fulfill my specifications. Thank you for all of your efforts!

The Panamera is available for a price of $75,850. At this range, you have the likes of a few proven luxury brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Maserati. These brands offer better looks and a better bargain for the kind of money you pay. We’ve decided to pit the Panamera against the 2013 Jaguar XJ and the 2013 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the S350. These cars are a better offering, with the BMW being less expensive of the lot. Let’s see how this comparison fairs.

2013 Porsche Panamera Pricing and Features

8.0/10

The Panamera comes in totally ten trims, which have a bifurcation based on the engine capacity. Here we’re looking at two specific trims: the 4dr S and the 4dr. These cars are completely packed with features, such as dual-zone automatic climate control, tilt-and-telescoping steering, 8-way powered front seats, driver memory functions, chilled glovebox, partial leather upholstery, and a 60/40-split rear seatback. Porsche also offers various optional packages as well.

We Recommend

We recommend the S 4dr sedan over the base 4dr as it is more feature-packed and also has a bigger much powerful V8 engine, the 4dr gets a V6. Also, the optional packages on the S 4dr are much more than what you get on the 4dr. This opens up options for better customization of the Porsche Panamera based on your needs and requirements.

2013 Porsche Panamera Engine and Performance

8.0/10

The 4dr is powered by a 3.6 L V6 that produces 300 hp @6200 rpm and 295 lb.-ft @3750 rpm. This engine is coupled to a 7-speed automated manual. The S 4dr is powered by a 4.8 L V8 that produces 400 hp @6500 rpm and 369 lb.-ft @3500 rpm. This engine is also coupled to a 7-speed automated manual. Both the cars are Rear-wheel driven.

The Panamera has a 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds. It is only slightly behind the XJ, which does the same in 5.2 seconds. The S-Class is slower by nearly a second, at 6.4 seconds. The quarter-mile comes up in 12.9 seconds for the Panamera, which is the quickest in this comparison. It leaves the Jaguar XJ and the S350 far behind by a second and more. The top speed of the cars is similar, although the XJ’s top speed is limited to 125 mph.

2013 Porsche Panamera Fuel Economy

7.0/10

The Porsche Panamera does not impress with its fuel economy of 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. It gets a very on-par fuel tank storage at 21 gallons. The Panamera V8 has an efficiency of 16/24 mpg for the city/highway. This is disappointing when you have similar competitors offering far better numbers.

The range on the Panamera stands at 379.8 city miles and 569.7 highway miles. This is the least range in this comparison and we hope it improves next year. The XJ has the same numbers as the Panamera but gets a slightly better range at 390.6 city miles and 585.9 highway miles, because of its 0.6 gallons extra capacity over the Panamera. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class performs brilliantly with its 21/31 mpg economy (city/highway) which converts into a nearly 500 city miles and 737 highway miles range.

2013 Porsche Panamera Interior

The Panamera’s interior looks similar to the one you see in the Porsche 911, as many of the styling points are borrowed from the same. There is no denying the high-end materials used inside the car with excellent finish quality everywhere. The cabin is neat, roomy, and looks fresh.

You have the trademark 5-ring instrument cluster which includes the speedometer and other gauges. However, the Panamera lacks a centralized control system, which has led to more than 80 buttons+knobs in the entire cockpit. You will feel like you are sitting in an actual aircraft cockpit. They are easy to use because of their grouping, but it takes a while.

The seating comfort in the Porsche Panamera is a boon. The front seats are well contoured, offer ample support and the legroom and headroom do not feel a compromise. But inside the Panamera, the place to be in is the rear seats. The seats are well-cushioned, and there’s just a lot of legroom and headroom because of the uniquely designed headroom.

The rear is so open and airy that you feel like you are sitting in a car that is just short of limo-type legroom. There's also tremendous storage space available in the rear, at 15.7 cubic feet. This may not sound much, but the shape of the trunk makes fitting luggage an easy job. The S-Class does better with its 16.4 cubic feet of trunk space. A few interior features are:

  • Custom interior trims
  • Leather and simulated alloy trim on the center console
  • Cabin heating
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Rear sunshades

How intuitive is the 2013 Porsche Panamera’s infotainment system?

The infotainment unit of the Panamera is very well designed and the sound quality is among the few best. The standard features are a navigation system, Bluetooth, USB/iPod interface, auxiliary audio input jack, USB/iPod integration, and an 11-speaker audio system. Optional equipment adds voice controls, a rear-seat entertainment system, a 6-CD changer, and a Burmester 16-speaker sound system. Some standout infotainment features include:

  • Burmester 16-speaker sound system
  • 14-speaker Bose sound system
  • Satellite radio
  • CD Player
  • Bluetooth Audio
  • Voice controls

2013 Porsche Panamera Exterior

7.0/10

The Panamera’s design is a 50/50: it appeals to some and doesn’t appeal to some. But over the years, this design has grown over the masses. It has a long hood, with a low front bumper which has a false grille. Over the grille, the DRLs are placed. The headlamps are unconventionally designed, and follow the Porsche design language. The car sits pretty short and this has given it a long and low profile.

The roofline is shaped like an arc at the rear and it blends in with the rear of the car. The rear design actually gives the car a much wider look. The side is sleek, marked with a thick rear pillar (which does not hamper rear visibility). The dual twin exhaust setup gives this calm-looking sedan a sporty touch.

The Panamera comparatively has the least length at 195 inches. It is pretty heavy too, but you don’t feel the weight much. The overall height of the car is also less. What has surprised us the most are the S-Class dimensions. It is over 200 inches long and has a very long wheelbase of124 inches. This has bestowed upon the S-Class with superior interior space and comfort. Some of the exterior features are:

  • Sport tailpipes
  • 5mm wheel spacers on the rear axle
  • Porsche Entry and drive
  • Rear wiper
  • Designed wheel options
  • Bi-xenon headlights

2013 Porsche Panamera Safety

9.0/10

The new Porsche Panamera comes standard with airbags, active head restraints, active pop-up hood for pedestrian protection, traction control, antilock disc brakes, stability control, and electronic brakeforce distribution. The optional equipment includes a rearview camera and Ceramic-composite brakes. The car has not been crash-tested by any government agencies, so we don’t have any safety ratings for now. A few safety features are listed below:

  • Tire pressure monitoring
  • High-Pressure washer headlamps
  • Cornering lights
  • Emergency brake assist
  • Remote anti-theft alarm system
  • Rear-view camera

2013 Porsche Panamera Final Verdict

Although the 2013 Porsche Panamera offers only 4 seats, the spacious and rich interior, along with the crisp performance and excellent handling the car has, that’s something very few super-luxury cars can match. A few cars do it better, like the S-Class but you pay a huge premium over the 2013 Panamera for that car.

The Panamera unlike its rivals is excellent at one thing- being the everyday car for anybody, unlike the more executive-focused rivals. Also, the car comes from a very reputed brand and there’s no denying that it steps your leagues up and introduces you to an all-new world. Go for this car.
