Roll-Royce is usually seen by many as the epitome of luxury and class in the automobile industry and the cars from the brand do live up to this hype. Ever since it came under the aegis of brand BMW, Rolls-Royce has been adding on to its list of superb cars that are a class apart. The latest one to join this elusive lineup of cars is the Phantom Tempus Collection.
Based on the Phantom, the Rolls Royce Phantom Tempus collection is inspired by time; however, there is not even a single clock present inside. Apart from the time, it has various points regarding the world generally. The critical component here is the pulsar astronomical appearance, which is made up of very compact stars emitting radiation in a routine pulse. These were detected in 1967 and are 280 lightyears away from the earth.
The actual awe-inspiring pulsars define both the headliner and inner door panels. These match the already-stunning starlight headLiner, which utilizes fiber optic wires to resemble night skies. Nowadays, those stars have been connected by gigantic galaxies on the roofing and illuminated pulsars on doorways. They are genuinely arranged in flowing and wavy patterns, which are magnificent. And because it is Rollsroyce, the champagne chest receives special treatment too.
The dashboard – called the Frozen Flow of Time Gallery – is a unique billet of black-anodized and hand-polished aluminum milled to highlight the 100-million-year period of a rotational spin of a pulsar star. Light bouncing off the dash provides the picture a ripple and flex effect even though it's a stable structure.
Rolls Royce has attached a summary of the dashboard artwork on an engraved plate in the glove compartment, together with a quote from Albert Einstein: "The distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion."
The exterior flaunts a unique bespoke finish dubbed Kairos Blue, highlighting jewel-like blue mica chips that sparkle as they detect some light. On the bonnet of the Phantom Tempus is where you will find the trademark Spirit of Ecstasy, now in her 110th year. This can be further personalised with a unique date and location of particular significance to the customer of the Phantom. Plenty of options have been provided by the company that includes marriage, the birth of a child or even a major business success, which can be engraved as a timeless reminder on this ultra-exclusive car.
Like all other Phantom models, the Tempus is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V12 engine, producing 563 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. It can reach up to 155 mph and will catch 62 mph in 5.3 seconds. Only 20 models of this Phantom Tempus will be ever built and all of those cars have been allocated to clients across the globe.
