Porsche is rejoicing the 25th birthday of one of the most significant models: the Boxster, which played a substantial part in saving the German firm out of a fatal future. Porsche celebrates the anniversary by releasing a GTS 4.0-based limited-edition model, driven by the 1993 Boxster concept.
Time sure does fly when you are having fun. You'll see few who would question driving a Boxster isn't that amusing, and like this, 25 years have flown since the first 986 Boxster hit the picture in 1996. It launched in Europe, packing 201 horsepower with the 2.5-liter flat-six engine. Indeed, time flies.

One of the Limited Edition's most unique features is Neodyme. This copper-like shimmering brown color gives an exciting contrast to the simple GT Silver Metallic shade on the pioneering 1993 showpiece. Moving inside, you'll find a properly retro leather interior finished in Bordeaux Red.

2021 Porsche Boxster 25 Years Limited Edition Engine and Performance
Signifying an anniversary edition, Porsche did not assign any specific treatment to the powertrain. However, the power plant of the anniversary edition offers pure exhilaration. Every Boxster 25s is:
- Based on 718 Boxster GTS -4.0
- The mid-mounted engine develops 394 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, and it spins the rear wheels via either a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
- Porsche Active Suspension Management and the torque-vectoring limited-slip differential as standard equipment
- The Sport Chrono package is part of the deal
The suspension is firm; however, as opposed to fidget and knock over uneven surfaces, the superior damping rounds away bumps and ruts. This means that the Boxster escapes with the trail rather than fighting with it. This also enables you to exploit the Boxster's lovely chassis. The steering system is smooth, well-weighted and reacts to your input, rather pleasantly.

Boxter's powerhouse is the star of this segment; the 4.0-liter Flat Six engine is a real gem. You have to push it to get the most out of its peak torque, which does not arrive before 5,000rpm-at which many turbo motors are running out of steam.
How quickly will the 2021 Porsche Boxster GTS LE Accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH?
