Assume the GR Corolla will receive most of its cabin elements from the standard Corolla hatchback, which means excellent build quality, soft-touch plastics, and plenty of features, but with racier treatment and sport seats.

For more than a year, we've known that Toyota would likely make a souped-up Corolla hatchback. Referred as the GR Corolla ('GR' represents Gazoo Racing) as it launches the 2023 variant, certainly will be a bizarre vehicle than the current Toyota Corolla Hatchback. Toyota has registered a label for the GR Corolla name, and insiders affirm that the car is coming.

Some rumors stated the version could utilize a high heeled gasoline-electric drivetrain; anonymous sources informed that electrification isn't on the table. As an alternative, the 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine turbocharged mill shared with all the GR Yaris which makes 261 horsepower can be used by the GR Corolla.

It will be offered beside the rally homologation specific GR Yaris, launched last year because of significant acclaim, and the straight-six GR Supra. One prospect is that the GR Corolla will get a permanent all-wheel-drive system with a rear inclination, and a limited-slip differential could be on the list, too. If that's the case, the hot hatch will land with a drivetrain configuration similar to the 2022 Golf R.

Toyota has a hybrid vehicle, plug-in hybrid vehicle, and pure-electric models intended for launch between now and 2025. Therefore, Toyota may also present a bounced up variant of the C-HR crossover within the same timeframe.

While some car manufacturers are surmounting back their combustion-engined emissions operations to prevent CO2 fleet ordinary penalties, Toyota's healthy hybrid mix has granted average emissions. Allows them to make some great cars in the age of global warming.

The information mentioned above came from an Autocar report, regrettably, is not confirmed with the automaker. Still, the info undoubtedly sounds plausible and may find every alluring hatch fan enthused.

Pricing and Release

Toyota will offer on the GR Corolla with a starting price of around $30,000. Toyota wants to retrieve its development costs in the three-cylinder engine applied to the GR Yaris, signifying that the car will undoubtedly turn to the USA. Chances are American buyers might not wish to pay what Toyota would decide to try and charge for the vehicle stateside.
