Nissan has put another and a final teaser of the 2022 Frontier and 2022 Pathfinder. Both of these vehicles were speculated to come entering 2021 and here they are. Nissan has now revealed both of these new models in their lineup on February 4. The Nissan Frontier, which was last updated way back in 2019 with new looks and a new powertrain last year is going to be a redesign and new look from here on. And the Pathfinder is all-new from grounds up for the 2022 model year.
Teasers from Nissan show sandy roads, unpaved paths, off-roading bits which would obviously mean both these vehicles would have off-road traits and habits in a particular trim. The Pathfinder anyway doesn’t offer any such off-road attribute. The Frontier is in its PRO-4x trim and it shows an aggressive-looking grille and other bits. Coming to the Pathfinder, it would now have a bold-ly written name on the back just like the new Armada has. The Pathfinder would regain the bold and butch truck-like stance it lost back in 2013. So what is now coming back is a good load of brick.
Nissan had updated the Frontier last year and it was then given a new and efficient 310-hp 3.8-liter V-6 engine to the pickup truck. Combined with that came an automatic transmission, they completely got away with the manual transmission and the 9-speed automatic now hence is the standard. What we can now see on the new Pathfinder is a standard CVT gearbox which could be updated with a proper automatic if optioned.
The launch will be live on February the 4th on Nissan’s website, so feast your eyes on this heated month of launches. Meanwhile, Ford has also launched the Supercrew F-150 Raptor with a V6 engine and will launch a V8 powered Raptor R in 2022.
