Not a lot could be seen in the teaser that Mercedes has dropped for the car. Only the side profile of the car has been teased and as per the company, after its launch, the EQS won’t have any direct rivals. The EQE, on the other hand, will rival the likes of the Porsche Taycan and the Tesla Model S.

Mercedes-Benz has been testing the new top-of-the-line version of the electric S-class, the EQS. While they have already shown the EQC and EQA, this is the new electric car from the German manufacturer that is going to come pretty soon. And to make the anticipation rise even higher, Mercedes has just teased the side profile of the swoopy new car.

Germans have turned down the brightness of the image and hence it can be called an official teaser. While we can still see some of the details by bumping up the levels of the picture. Door handles seem to be flushed with the bodywork and pop-out when needed just like the ones on the Range Rover Velar. After the EQS, the next electric iteration of an electric car would be the EQE which will be also released later this year.

Mercedes has a lot of ambitious claims about this oncoming model and to the level that they explicitly say that it doesn’t have a direct rival. While we still pitch it against the likes of the Porsche Taycan, Tesla Model S, Audi e-Tron GT, Mercedes says that the EQE will be more suited for these cars.

"There will not be a luxury sedan in the market, nor is there one right now, that compares to the size, the packaging and the space as the EQS. It sits a segment above including a back seat where you can actually sit comfortably." -Ola Källenius, CEO, Mercedes-Benz.

The range of the Mercedes-Benz EQS is expected to be more than 435 miles in a single full charge. And US-spec might exclaim a lower claim due to different testing regulations. It also claims to have the ability to charge up to 80 percent in 20 minutes. Just like the GLS and GLE, the EQS and EQE would also have their SUV versions. The next in the line will be EQB cross-over and EQE that will also be released later this year. They all are expected to be launched as a 2022 year model. That is quite a line-up from the Mercedes-Benz while it is mostly calm when we compare it to other Germans like Audi and BMW.
