A triplet of new paint colours will be replacing the existing colour palette on the Chevrolet's 2022 C8 Corvette. These new hues are Amplify Orange Tintcoat(GC5), Hypersonic Gray Metallic(G48), and Caffeine Brown Metallic(GA7), which will replace Sebring Orange Shadow Gray, and Zeus Bronze.
General Motors initially told traders that Sebring Orange and Zeus Bronze would be open for order by April 29, while Shadow Gray would stick on the books till May 27. Sadly for those expecting to snag two of these unpopular colours on a 2021 C8 Corvette, it seems this is no longer the case, according to a new statement from General Motors.
The news comes through a memo that General Motors shared with their dealer network yesterday, specifically the Sebring Orange and Zeus Bronze hues. Chevrolet says that the two colours are now being officially placed on a national constraint, with zero availability for the rest of the 2021 model year.
Not much of a surprise that the 2022 car is getting three new colours. The 2021 model was upgraded to add Red Mist Metallic and Silver Metallic, replacing the Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat and Blade Silver Metallic of the 2020 car.
Chevrolet's other changes into the 2022 version are yet to be seen, but some subtle trim changes may likely be made in the interior. For the coming years, a new report indicated that the 2023 Corvette might benefit from a cabin refresh that could see the redesign of ergonomics and button placements.
