Among its competition, the Maserati is not the most powerful, that title goes to the Lexus GS-F which produced 467 hp from its 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V8. However, all that horsepower doesn’t translate well to performance. In that regard, the Audi S7 is the best performer of the lot. For 2021 much of this is likely to remain the same but you can expect some refinement in the engine. There is also a hybrid powertrain model of the Ghibli coming.

How fast is the 2021 Maserati Ghibli S from 0-60?

The 2021 model is expected to have the same figures as the 2020 model. In that regard, the 2020 model posts some impressive 0-60 times. Compared to its rivals it is not the best but definitely not the worst. It manages to get to sixty in 4.3 seconds and manages to do the standing quarter mile in 12.8 seconds. This figure is impressive considering these are luxury sports cars and weigh nearly 4000 pounds.

Among its competitors, the best performer is the Audi S7 with a 0 to sixty time of 4.1 seconds. This impressive figure is thanks to the fact that it comes with all wheel drive as standard. Even with more horsepower and a bigger engine the Lexus GS-F only manages to be 0.1 seconds faster to sixty than the Ghibli. All the cars in this segment are very close together in acceleration figures and it is expected to continue into the future.

Ride and Handling

The luxurious interior delivered along with the exciting and eye-catching exterior is a whole new degree of the comfort zone. The 2021 Maserati Ghibli Sedan encompasses automatic, virtual, and heated steering for the best driving experience. The seats compiled a cloud of comfort and quality due to the premium leather used.

All-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive both are available for Maserati Ghibli. Even though the ride quality isn’t known yet, it’s potent and high-quality engine assures an exclusive ride given all its sporty and environmentally friendly credentials. It is also one of the best cars in this segment for its driving dynamics. The steering keeps you engaged and gives you good feedback, and the chassis is strong, and you will thoroughly enjoy the car around corners.

Braking Performance

The 2020 model came with 14.2 and 13.6 drilled cast-iron brakes as standard and it is also the lightest car in this segment. We don't have the braking distance of the Ghibli since it has a lower weight than its competitors and its show stops fairly quickly. All this car is expected to fall well within the margin of safety.

We don’t know of any plans for an upgrade for the braking system. So, the 2021 model is likely to have the same brake setup as the 2020 model and it's not genuinely bad.

It also has the largest tank in the segment that means with its decent mpg figures the cars will have to stop less often on long journeys. The 2021 model will provide the same gas mileage or better.

The only outlier in this is the Lexus but it doesn’t stray very far. The 2021 model will come with more features and refinement in the interior of the car.

For 2021 the car is expected to be dimensionally similar to the outgoing model, but Maserati are planning to bring some redesign for the 2021 model. You can expect the 2021 model to be more attractive and to have a relevant look.

Safety features of the 2021 Maserati Ghibli S

Lack of satisfactory and adequate safety gauges has always been a shortcoming for all the Maserati models. Being a super-fast sport’s car, it’s very reckless to only build airbags in the car for unanticipated occurrences. Even with automatic pedestrian detectors, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control, the safety measures in the interior lack proper structure due to which there has been criticism about the car being unreliable and tricky. However, Maserati is likely to address this issue with the upcoming 2021 update.

How does the 2021 Maserati Ghibli S stack up against the competition?

Maserati Ghibli S vs Lexus GS-F

At first glance, the Lexus is better than the Maserati, has more power, better performance, similar fuel economy and slightly better cabin space. However, the truth is both cars are of different bread. The Maserati is a civilized Luxury Sportscar while on the other hand, the Lexus is more of a performance sedan. Both offer different things to choose based on what you want.

Maserati Ghibli 2021 vs 2020 Audi S7

Audi S7 is known for the kind of comfort and luxury it has provided throughout its brand evolution with consistency. Maserati, on the other hand, is no less when it comes to premium leather seats with massive leg space and an in-built 14 speaker music system. The Maserati has better looks but the Audi has slightly better comfort. Test drive both see what you like about them.

2021 Maserati Ghibli S vs Mercedes-Benz CLS AMG 53

Both are great looking cars, and both offer a similar feature list, similar performance, and even cost is similar. However, the CLS interior is slightly more cramped than the Ghibli’s and Merc has the upper hand in fuel economy. Look at both cars and see what you prefer more.

What should you expect from the 2021 Maserati Ghibli S

The 2021 Maserati Ghibli is anticipated to exhibit a sales boost in the continuation of its previous model’s fortune. MPG delivered makes it a decent performer along with being a super desirable sports car. Apart from lagging behind in the safety unit, this car is special and worth the price. With abrupt carbon emissions from opponents and other cars in rivalry, Maserati sets a tremendous example to be an engaging thoroughbred and environment friendly at the same time.
