A rare fun-to-drive SUV, near-luxury cabin trimmings, top-quality fit-and-finish - Caranddriver.com

The 2021 CX-9 is a face-lifted rather than an all-new model. Not much has changed under the hood which has a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder still producing 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque on premium gasoline while the power drops to 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque on regular fuel.

2021 Mazda CX-9 hd wallpaper

The Mazda CX-9 offers a rare combination of the family-friendly and driver-friendly SUV. The CX-9 also has great reliability ratings, excellent gas mileage, great driver assistance technology, and good crash test scores. For the $33,960 starting price, it certainly feels more expensive than it actually is.

Although not one of the most powerful cars in the bunch, the Mazda CX-9 is decently powerful with respect to its engine capacity and fuel-efficient at the same time. That being said, you could always churn out more power by using high-octane fuel. Hyundai Palisade proves that there is no replacement for displacement and number of cylinders as it makes the most amount of grunt with its big V6 motor.

2021 Mazda CX-9 Vs 2021 Hyundai Palisade

A very tough competitor to the Mazda, the Hyundai Palisade is also a very appealing car in this segment. With plenty of space inside and better 3rd-row seating than the Mazda, the Hyundai has the potential to give the Mazda a run for its money.

2021 Mazda CX-9 Vs 2021 Volkswagen Atlas

From the Germans, we have the Volkswagen Atlas competing in the mid-size crossover SUV segment. The Atlas is also a good choice for people needing 3rd-row seating in their car, and the Atlas also does a very good job at it. But just like the Hyundai, it also falls behind the Mazda in terms of fuel economy and the overall dynamic of the car, which is quite bland as compared to the Mazda.

2021 Mazda CX-9 Final Verdict

With an attractive exterior, beautifully designed premium interior, and an overall sporty and athletic characteristic, the Mazda CX-9 is a tough car to beat in the mid-size crossover SUV segment. Although it is an excellent choice for people who need 3rd-row seating in their car.

2021 Mazda CX-9 hd car wallpaper

The 3rd row is quite cramped in the Mazda and there are other cars out there in the market like the Hyundai Palisade and the Volkswagen Atlas that do a better job at it. Nonetheless, the long list of standard luxury and safety features makes the Mazda an excellent choice. Though you can save some money if you consider an older CX-9 as the 2021 model get minor revisions only.

Low key luxury.

Pros - Peppy engine, super premuim interior, top safety kit

Cons - Pretty much nothing wrong about this cars for the price except the un usable third row seating

Now wonder why so many people are buying these. We wanted futuristic design, latest safety options, quiet, and the color red. It is "soul red" and makes the car stand out from all others. Perfect vehicle. We leased and have had it just for 1000 miles; there is nothing to fix yet Candace was awesome! She persuaded me to come in for a test drive, and I walked away with a fantastic truck. Everyone was friendly and supportive! I'm happy I wanted to do business with this dealership. I was treated so well by the workers. They made me feel at ease when I went to buy a car. I would strongly advise someone to purchase a new vehicle.

Pros - Cabin space, reliabilty, driving dynamics

Cons - Exterior looks are not that appealing, trunk space, outside noise hinderance

Finishing in STyle Best part is looks inside out. It is unbelievable car. I have owned other cars but Not a MAzda before. I love driving it. Seats are comfortable. It makes me feel stronger. Finding some faults will have to wait long time. Because this car is up for challenges.

Fantastic value

Pros - Infotainment, value, affordable, stylish

Cons - Small gas tank, fuel economy

Value for money Apart from poor fuel economy, It is better than expected. I have read some complaints about transmission and performance which I have not encountered at least up till now. So, my review will be based on my experience so far. It has been more than 3 months since I bought it and it has been brilliant in almost everything. Ride quality- comfortable, transmission- good(6-speed automatic is smooth), performance- great(2.5L turbo is very smooth and has adequate power), handling- on par with everything else.
