Expert Review

8.9

Overall Rating

The sixth-generation Maserati Quattroporte is an exclusive Italian creation meant to allure the affluent class of sporty luxury sedan owners. The 2020 model year Quattroporte offers multiple personalities to suit the needs and fulfill the desire of Maserati enthusiasts. The twin-turbo V6 sourced from Ferrari and the trident-logo in the grille grants a unique flair and makes it distinct from the German rivals. Also, the three available trims are equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission with RWD or available AWD drivetrain starting at $99,490.

In comparison to its German counterparts which include the likes of BMW Alpino B7, Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, and Porsche Panamera, the Quattroporte lacks the ride quality along with modern technological updates. Further, subjectively the Italian roots offer a unique character to the Large Luxury sedan segment but the other European sedans objectively beat it when it comes to performance, comfort, quality, and luxury.

How is the ride and handling of Maserati Quattroporte?

The Quattroporte rewards driving enthusiasts with firm suspension, agile handling and weighted steering which is both responsive and communicative. 2020 Maserati Quattroporte Competition

Maserati Quattroporte vs. Porsche Panamera

Should you buy Maserati Quattroporte or Porsche Panamera? Both automakers are known to produce sports cars. The 911 resembling Panamera is a perfect example to highlight the German automaker’s obsession for calculations and precision. The Panamera is lighter, sleek, sportier and lots faster than before. While Porsche Panamera gains from the new built-platform which is used in many Betley’s cars, the Maserati Quattroporte is unique given Ferrari sourced engine. Also, in comparison, the Maserati’s interiors are sourced from the FCA bin which clearly is a let off. Both are top-notch sport sedans with easy maneuverability and exciting emotion.

Maserati Quattroporte Vs Mercedes-Benz AMG GT

The AMG GT is one of the best in the class. The trademark design and exquisite interior with a lot of modern technological inclusions allow AMG GT to stand tall. The Maserati scores well on the space and comfort but the raw power with plush interior takes AMG GT across the finish line much faster. With elegant acceleration enough and built, AMG GT will be the first choice.

Maserati Quattroporte vs. BMW Alpina B7

Based on the 7-series sedan, Alpina B7 is something much more than what it seems like. Looking for the fastest luxury sedan? The BMW Alpina B7 offers exciting power, excellent foundational structure, and ubiquitous presence. The Maserati Quattroporte in comparison to the BMW Alpina B7 still has a lot of ground to cover in order to occupy the top spot. The B7 is priced a few hundred dollars higher to the Quattroporte but that’s worth it.

2020 Maserati Quattroporte Final Verdict

The Italian classic Maserati offers the sixth-generation Quattroporte, a luxurious sport sedan or can we call it another way round as sporty luxury sedan. The Italian automaker is known for its plush offerings with a limited set of options. The Quattroporte is longer than before with ample power. The FCA sourced infotainment isn’t impressive. Maserati only benefits from its engine, sourced from Ferrari. The Maserati Quattroporte is a good option but may not be the best.
