2021 Maserati Levante Trofeo SUV Maintenance, Reliability and Warranty

2021 Levante Trofeo may not have the ongoing engine manufacturer- Ferrari from 2021 but still looking into the brand history, Maseartis are pretty reliable vehicles. The vehicle will also have a competitive edge in the warranty and ownership segment. Moreover, the new 2021 trim's ownership costs may vary due to the rumored new engine manufacturers.

Reliability and Ownership Costs

Unfortunately, the J.D.Power report of the 2019-21 Levante Trofeo remains unavailable. Therefore, we cannot say much about the overall vehicle score. The same is true for trims below the Trofeo. Also, rumors suggest that Ferrari may not be the engine manufacturer for the 2021 trim. Therefore, we cannot say much about the reliability of this car. It comes with a predicted reliability rating of 3 out of 5.

The 2021 Levante Trofeo will carry an approximate sticker price of $171,500. It will cost between $152,000 and $174,940 across most U.S. states, depending on the inclusion or exclusion of sales taxes.

2019 Levante received three complaints and a single recall. The registered NHTSA complaints were for the electrical system, vehicle speed control, service brakes, steering, seat belts, and unknown. However, the complaints registered no deaths, injuries, crash, or fire. NHTSA had recorded one recall which was for incorrect LED headlight adjustment. It affected a total of 427 potential vehicles. The manufacturer provided free of charge headlight adjustment.

According to speculations, the ownership cost of the 2019 Levante Trofeo amounted to $155,592, whereas for the 2020 trim, maybe $168,584 over the next 10,000 miles. However, the price of the 2021 trim may significantly differ from the existing trim, depending on the engine manufacturer.

Warranty

The Levante Trofeo comes with a four year or 50,000 miles powertrain and basic warranty. The vehicle will also have a four year or 50,000 miles corrosion warranty and 24-hour roadside assistance. Unfortunately, the car will not offer any complimentary scheduled maintenance.

Powertrain warranty

Lamborghini Urus comes with three years and unlimited miles powertrain, roadside assistance, and basic warranty. It also provides twelve years and unlimited miles corrosion warranty. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo comes with four years and 50,000 miles drivetrain, roadside assistance, and basic warranty. Therefore, the warranty of Levante Trofeo looks competitive with most of its rivals.

Miles to Dollar

The true cost to own a Maserati Levante over the length of 5 years and 15,000 miles driven per year is around $117K. That makes a miles per dollar figure of 1.56.

2021 Maserati Levante Trofeo SUV Buying Advice

The Trofeo is top of the Levante lineup. Therefore, there is not much scope for choosing a second trim. But the vehicle does come with a performance-oriented engine. Waiting for the 2021 model will be the best choice because of the significant facelift with new 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine, interior, and exterior upgrades rumored across the web.

Furthermore, besides these upgrades, the new model may incorporate minor updates such as the taillights, front bumper, quad exhaust system, and a more aggressive body.

Is buying a used Maserati Levante Trofeo a good idea?

According to speculations, the depreciation of the 2020 Levante Trofeo was $114,934, and for the 2019 model was $103,576. Moreover, rumors also suggest that Ferrari may not manufacture the Maserati’s engines. Therefore, it could lead to a drastic change of events, especially on the ownership and depreciation costs. The Trofeo joined the Levante lineup in 2019 with its Twin-Turbo V8 high-performance engine.

The current year lineup continues the previous year's model features; however, the 2021 trim may have many significant changes, especially the speculated and upgraded 4.0-liter engine. Unfortunately, Maserati proclaims the vehicle launch summer of 2020; however, we cannot find any details on their site. Therefore, it will be best to wait for the 2021 models before deciding to buy the current model.

7.5/10

The Levante Trofeo came with a 3.8-liter 8-cylinder Turbo 8A engine and 8-speed shiftable automatic transmission capable of delivering 590 hp at 6,250 rpm and 538 lb-ft at 2,500 rpm. But then Ferrari officially stopped manufacturing engines for Maserati from 2021. However, according to rumors, the current engine will be replaced by a new 4.0-liter V8. The present-day models come with an AWD drivetrain; however, speculations suggest that 2021 may come with optional RWD.

Levante Trofeo has the second-highest sticker price and horsepower after the Lamborghini Urus. The vehicle's torque output might be third-highest after the 2020 Urus and Cayenne Turbo. Unfortunately, Maserati hasn't revealed the specs of the car. Therefore, we remain unsure whether the engine capacity will be similar to its rivals or below it.

2021 Maserati Levante Trofeo Acceleration And Braking Performance

The Levante Trofeo provides a zero to 60 mph acceleration of 3.7 seconds, a top speed of 189 mph, and a 60 mph to zero stoppage distance of 105.6 feet. It offers a quarter-mile acceleration timing of 12.0 seconds.

However, if the engine capacity jumps up to 4.0-liter, then the specs will differ from the present-day model. Moreover, the vehicle will have a double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension.
