Loving it

Pros - Good luxury SUV for highway driving, quiet ride, commodious seating and cargo

Cons - Haven't given any problems

Good luxury SUV for highway driving 31 grands is a nice deal for used 2016 Navigator having nearly 58k miles put on it. I mostly drive on highways and it is the best SUV I could have got for highway driving both comfort and mpg wise which varies between 20-21. Comfortable, luxurious, quiet, and commodious are few words that justify the Navigator interiors. The front seats have heating and ventilation capabilities, the third row seats have power fold-down feature. Had it only for a few months now, and loving it. Kristopher and his team is amazing. They are friendly and always willing to answer questions and give information. Also helped me settle with a great deal on a used Navigator that I liked.

2016 Lincoln Navigator

Pros - Powerful engine. Plush ride. Roomy interiors.

Cons - Low quality interior materials. Front grille design. Difficult to park.

A good, plush family SUV! I have been driving this Navigator for over two years now and it has been really great for an SUV. Its comfortable to be in the vehice, doesn't matter iof you're driving or a passenger you're in equal luck. The seats are really comfortable and offer good legroom including the ones on the last row. I fnot needed, the last row folds onto a flat giving a huge cargo space. Driving this Lincoln has been really great always with the powerful engine and plush ride. I have done about 65k miles on this SUV with mostly road trips with my family and I look forward to more! The dealership has been really good when it comes to service. Helpful, hard working folks!

There will be no replacement

Pros - The spacious cabin, foldable rear seats extend the cargo utility and has good towing capacity

Cons - Love the whole thing

capable large SUV one of the best capable SUVs. The idea behind choosing this was its good towing capacity of a travel trailer, can seat 8 comfortably in the spacious cabin, fuel-efficient when compared to many minivans, and the engine is good enough to pull the load as promised. The antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, trailer sway control adds more purpose while handling slippery roads. Best car in my garage.

Overall Rating

The 2016 Lincoln Navigator carries forward the 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine that is powerful and provides great overall performance. The Navigator is quick but lacks in terms of the fuel economy that it provides. The Lincoln Navigator is a luxurious SUV from the inside and is available at the same premium price of $63,000 for the base model. The top trim can go up to $71,000 and thus competes with equally premium and powerful SUVs like the Infinity QX80 and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class.

2016 Lincoln Navigator Pricing and Features

8.5/10

The 2016 Lincoln Navigator is a full-size luxury SUV, and it has all the bells and whistles you can ask for in a luxury car from the base trim itself. However, if you think you can use some more luxury than the regular customer then you can always go with higher trims. The SUV is available in two trims, namely Select and Reserve, where the base trim is offered at $63,195. Here is a list of the key features available with both the trims:

Reserve

A Two-Tone Exterior Paint Scheme

Front And Rear Parking Sensors

An Upgraded Leather Upholstery That Covers The Doors, Dash, And Console

Rear Privacy Glass

Power-Folding Running Boards

Keyless Ignition And Entry

Heated And Ventilated Eight-Way Power Front Seats (With Power Lumbar)

Power-Adjustable Pedals

The above trims are available along with an option of a 2WD or 4WD and a normal Navigator or the one with an extended wheelbase, the Navigator L. However, with every added feature, you will be shelling out that much more money.

We Recommend

If you don’t do a lot of traveling in your vehicle, then the base Select trim should serve you fine. Given that you are fine with the standard 20” alloys. However, if you travel long distances regularly for business or pleasure, then going for the Reserve would be totally worth it since the upper trim brings better comfort for the passengers inside.

2016 Lincoln Navigator Engine and Performance

7.8/10

The 2016 Lincoln Navigator is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 twin-turbo engine. This big engine with 380hp and 460 pound-feet of torque output ensure that you make long overtakes with ease. The car has good ride quality, which translates into better interior comfort, but for the driver, this does result in lower feedback from the suspension and steering wheel. However, the car is still planted for lane changes and mild levels of cornering.

2016 Lincoln Navigator SUV Engine Bay

The V6 engine is mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission and delivers the power to the front wheels as standard. Along with that, there is an option to opt for an AWD variant. The Lincoln Navigator accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 6.5 seconds which is quite decent considering its curb weight.

For the price being paid, all the SUVs offer generously, but if we are looking specifically at the engine output, the Infiniti QX80 definitely is impressive with a combo of 400hp and 413lb-ft of torque. In comparison, the Lincoln comes in second in terms of power output, followed by the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. But the Mercedes is the quickest of them all with 0-60 mph in just 5 seconds.

2016 Lincoln Navigator Fuel Economy

5.0/10

When compared to the MPG figures offered by the previous-gen Navigators, the 2016 model has improved a lot in terms of gas mileage. The 2016 Lincoln Navigator provides a fuel economy of 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway, which should be fine to cover you for all your adventures and errands. It all comes down to a combined mileage of 19 mpg.

If we were to compare the MPG and the power figures of these cars, then we would see that the more power the lesser the fuel efficiency. Thus the Infiniti QX80 with 400hp gives a combined fuel economy of 17 mpg, while the Lincoln Navigator gives 19 MPG and the Mercedes-Benz’s GL-Class gives the best in class mileage of 23MPG.

2016 Lincoln Navigator Interior

8.4/10

The interior of the 2016 Lincoln Navigator looks fancy at the first glance, but as you look closely, you will find some unsatisfying elements used across the interior. These are mainly leather upholstery and hard plastics. But this is for the Base model, and as you move to the ‘Reserve’ trim, the whole of the interior does change up for good.

2016 Lincoln Navigator SUV Dashboard View

It is quite noticeable how similar the dimensions of these cars are. This is mostly due to the segment standard being followed by the manufacturers. With regards to the Navigator, the dimensions shown here are for the normal version, when you opt for the extended wheelbase, Navigator L, you will have more legroom to play with.

How intuitive is the 2016 Lincoln Navigator’s infotainment unit?

The 2016 Lincoln Navigator does make a strong statement with its infotainment system, the BlackBerry-powered Sync 3 touchscreen. It resolves the issues that were posed by the previous year's system. It is crisper to use, thanks to a better GUI and a faster system.

7.5/10

Even though the 2016 Lincoln Navigator is a vehicle that has been around for some time, the car still doesn’t look outdated. The hulking dimensions on the exterior have been efficiently transferred into the interior as well, resulting in spacious interiors. For someone who has a taste for big SUVs, the Navigator won’t be disappointing at all.

2016 Lincoln Navigator SUV Three Quarter View

The huge front grilles with the integrated square automatic headlamps along with the huge 22-inch alloy wheels complete the entire look of the vehicle. The Navigator also gets automatic wipers, a power liftgate, keyless ignition and entry, and an adaptive suspension system. The exterior design of the Lincoln Navigator looks dated but still holds its ground.
