Did you think only the Mars Rover has the capability to go places where no man has been before? Think again because the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR is here, and even though it might look too bulked up to tackle trails, this SUV from Land Rover is capable enough to practically drive itself over rubble and ravine alike.

Overall Rating
With more driver assistance tech than one might need and a supercharged V8 that pushes out 575 hp and 516 lb.-ft. torque, the Range Rover Sport SVR is an all-terrain SUV that also has the potential to tear up the race track. But all-round heated seats and a spacious trunk also mean that this Land Rover doesn’t compromise on a particular aspect in order to make up for the other.
Like the Maserati Levante GTS, which is a costier option from Maserati, is also powered by a V8, but doesn’t rank up against the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR. The BMW X6 M and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo do a lot better job of challenging this Land Rover’s mettle. At a price little over $114,000, the Range Rover Sport strikes a more or less perfect balance between sport, utility and trailing.

Final Verdict
The Range Rover Sport SVR is at the top of the Land Rover Range Rover Sport lineup. It gets a supercharged V8 which makes it the most track focused Range Rover Sport ever. Other standard features include an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drivetrain alongside several innovative all-terrain technologies that make this comfortable SUV and equally capable off-roader.

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR is a special SUV. It gets a carbon fiber hood in body color as standard. So if you plan on getting yourself this Land Rover, pair it with the SVR Carbon Fiber exterior pack. This additional option adds carbon fiber accents all over the Range Rover Sport SVR to strike a resemblance to the carbon fiber hood.
A 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that powers the F-Pace SVR also powers the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR. But the Range Rover Sport SVR is heavier, so the V8 on this is more meatier. At 575 hp and 516 lb.-ft. torque, the SVR is not only the most capable Range Rover Sport, but also the most powerful SVR.
However, amongst other standard features, an intuitive 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive unit are the same as the rest of the rest of the Range Rover Sport lineup.

The Range Rover Sport SVR’s 5.0-liter V8 is the hunkiest in this lineup of V8 powered SUVs. At 575 hp the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR is more powerful than even the X6 M.
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR features several driving modes. Amongst them, the Sport mode gets the most out of this Land Rover’s monstrous V8, which makes it a total riot on the straights. When in Sport mode, the adaptive air suspension lower this SUV’s ride height for improved downforce.
Consequently, with the help of an intelligent all-wheel drive system that favors the rear wheels at times of acceleration, ridiculously quick shifts from the eight-speed automatic and 22-inch Continental Sport tires that grip the road like glue, the almost 5,100 pound Range Rover Sport SVR rips ahead letting out a thunderous roar.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo weighs almost as much as the Range Rover Sport SVR yet manages to outrun all other V8 powered SUVs. The BMW X6 M, which is the heaviest SUV in this segment, is also faster than the Land Rover.
The brakes on the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR are simply fantastic. They do a great job bringing this massive SUV to a halt. Input from the pedal receives immediate response from brakes that bite down with intent.
But under emergency braking scenarios the weight of the car does come into play. Going down hard on the pedal causes this Range Rover Sport to dip ahead which can result in some discomfort for the driver.
Nevertheless, the large air intakes integrated into the front bumper maximize airflow to the brakes. This keeps them from heating up even after repeated harsh use. So the driver does not have to worry about fading response.

When it comes to acceleration or braking, there is no beating the Porsche’s Cayenne Turbo. Even the lightweight Maserati Levante GTS fails to stop as quickly as the Porsche.
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR might suffer a bit on a straight line due to its overall bulk, but that doesn't stop it from being sporty at all. While tackling curves, the Dynamic response feature senses cornering forces on all four wheels at high-speeds. Then accordingly adjusts the level of damping on the suspension to counter those forces. As a result, the amount of roll while making tight turns is contained and this Range Rover Sport SVR remains composed at all times. The heavily weighted steering wheel rightly suits this heavy SUV and the grippy Continental Sport tires return fantastic response from the road.
It is also well known just how off-road capable most Land Rover SUVs are, but the Range Rover Sport SVR still stands out. When planning to go off-road, let the SVR 4-corner electronic air suspension adjust themselves so this Land Rover doesn’t scrape it belly. Then, with the help of more advanced features than some of the countries can avail, this Land Rover has the capability to practicality drive itself over trails where no man has been before.
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR is a big SUV which is powered by a just as huge V8, and to top it all off, that V8 is supercharged. So it would be pretty unwise to expect this comfortable, luxury, utility vehicle to be exceptionally fuel efficient.

The supercharged V8 of the Range Rover Sport SVR offers above average fuel efficiency, which combined with its large tank, improves range and efficiency even more.
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR has all the makings of a proper SUV. It has a powerful engine, a big fuel tank to compensate for it and a cabin large enough to comfortably accommodate passengers. Availability of space in the front row as well as back is plenty, thanks to its not so edgy design.
The Windsor leather seats are nice and wide, and they offer plenty of support. To further enhance indulgence, all the seats of this Land Rover come equipped with heated seats feature. In addition, the electronic power steering, which adjusts itself to allow easy access, also features heating function. While the brushed aluminum trim makes the interior look fresh, the wide windows, higher seat position and panoramic sunroof make the cabin feel open and airy.

Not even the BMW X6 M offers the kind of spacious cabin like the one in the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR.

As a utility vehicle, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR offers plenty of practicality. The long wheelbase and boxy design of this Range Rover Sport allows it to free up plenty of space on the inside. This enables the Range Rover Sport SVR to comfortably accommodate passengers and their belongings.

At 27.5 cubic feet, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR’s trunk is the biggest in this segment. Ironically, the Maserati Levante GTS, which has the longest wheelbase in this comparison, has the smallest boot.
The Range Rover Sport SVR comes equipped with features to make all your rides comfortable and indulging. These comfort features are as follows:
The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR is one of the most distinguished SUVs on the market. Where most companies favor a sporty exterior over a box-like design to complement their V8, the Range Rover Sport SVR features traditional SUV lines and sculpts. The big front bumper, broad shoulder line, large rear overhang are all typical Land Rover.
But the Range Rover Sport SVR looks a lot more menacing. Its front hood, with the integrated air vents, slopes towards the ground. While this gives the Range Rover Sport SVR its lower stance, the mesh grille with SVR badging up front, and fender vents at the sides highlight muscularity.
Also at the sides, large 21-inch five split-spoke wheels that fill the arches, and blacked-out roof pillars make it look a lot more happening than the regular Range Rover SVR. As the sculpts on the doors give the Land Rover an edgy appearance, the truncated tail with the dual-tip exhaust on either side, add a certain sportiness to the overall right-angled design.

The Maserati Levante GTS has the longest wheelbase and is also the longest overall. Still, it is the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR that offers a much higher level of practicality than the Levante GTS.
The most noticeable exterior features of the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR that make up for its dominating presence are:
The 2020 Range Rover Sport SVR remains to be tested by the authorities for safety. However, Land Rover has equipped the Range Rover Sport SVR with enough features to ensure peace of mind for the driver and other occupants. These features include:
While one is a typical SUV with bold features, the other is styled as a coupe. But both offer plenty of practicality and tremendous value for money. On one hand, the BMW X6 makes better use of its V8 with its exciting driving dynamics, on the other, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR offers off-road capabilities and tech unlike any other. However, both offer the same level of luxury, comfort and elegance. So it basically boils down to whether you want a more track focused SUV or a more off-road capable one.
For a price of $7,500 over the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR, the Maserati Levante GTS offers a small cabin, an even smaller trunk and all the more compromised efficiency. Also for a luxury SUV from an Italian automaker, the Levante GTS doesn’t feel quite as upscale as the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR. The only thing the Maserati has going for itself it its faster acceleration and better handling. Other than that, as a proper utility vehicle, the Range Rover Sport SVR simply tops the Levante GTS.
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR is a special SUV. It combines all the off-roading expertise of a Land Rover with the monstrosity of a supercharged V8. So not many SUVs out there can drive or feel the way this Land Rover does. Also, the list of standard features on this Range Rover SVR is pretty expansive. For a price of $114,500, the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR turns out to be a very well-rounded package.
