The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace will be available in 4 trims with the base addition being S and it moves upwards with the following trims SE, HSE and First edition. The S variant is priced at $69,500 while the high end version is available at $89,500. Although there are a lot of high tech features on offer, Jaguar has still given Apple CarPlay and Android Auto a miss for the 2019 I-Pace and this is quite astonishing.

2019 Jaguar I-PACE electric Engine and Performance

The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace gets its power from 2 Permanent Magnet Synchronous Electric Motors where 1 motor is used for driving 1 axle each. The combined power output from both the motors is rated at 394hp and 513ft.-lbs. of Torque. This all new Jaguar I-Pace comes with an AWD setup along with a surface response technology that delivers power as per terrain to the respective wheel.

The Center Mounted 90KWh batteries and the Electric motors have been placed tactfully to give the Jaguar I-Pace an ideal 50-50 weight distribution. A Single Speed Transmission does duty in the Jag while a Torque vectoring system and the aforementioned Surface response system manages the Power distribution in all the wheels.

Talking of the competition, Tesla doesn't reveal the power figures of its vehicles as it focuses on 0-60 figures. The Audi e-tron however, delivers a slightly lesser output when compared to the Jaguar in terms of both Power and Torque. The Brit finally wins over the German with regard to power and performance.

The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace is built unlike any other of its siblings. Based on lightweight material such as aluminium for its chassis it also uses one of a kind electric motor for each of its axles, it hence paces like a shooting star and gives a very tough competition to its rivals in this regard of acceleration. The I-Pace does the 60MPH dash from standstill in just 4.5 seconds hence making it one of the fastest SUV's in the world.

Speaking of the competition, the Tesla Model X does the 60MPH stint in just 4.7 seconds while the other newbie on the block, Audi e-tron, manages to achieve the same feat in 5.5 seconds. Both of the rivals stand behind the Jaguar in this regard as it paces to the 60 mph mark in just 4.5 seconds.

Ride and Handling

The Jaguar I-Pace is snappy off the line, silent in operation and uses clever tech like regen braking to not only stop the vehicle but also aid in handling. While cornering, the perfect weight distribution and the corner set wheels offer superb control at speeds and minimal body roll. The Adjustable air suspension and the surface management system allows for a comfortable ride over hard and bumpy surfaces.

2019 Jaguar I-Pace Front View

Steering is precise and quickens up on its responsiveness when toggled in the sport mode. On a whole though, the I-Pace has its focus on the sporty side of things rather than comfort.

Jaguar has employed the use of a lot of high tech technologies like Regenerative Braking and generous use of aluminum in the chassis in the 2019 I-Pace. This light-weight and the extra braking tech, aids the braking performance of the Jaguar while saving fuel as well. The regenerative braking is a 2 level braking system that allows drivers to stop the I-Pace without actually pressing the Brake Pedal. The kinetic energy produced by the car is used to bring it to a stop under this technology.

While we don't have the exact figures of braking distance for the competition, we do feel that the jaguar I-Pace will be the segment benchmark for SUV's because of its extremely lightweight curb body, perfect weight distribution and a clever regen braking system. However, we will never know what Tesla and Audi have up their sleeves.

Towing Capacity

The Jaguar I-Pace shares some of its characteristics from its lineage siblings, more precisely the Range Rovers and that is reflected in the towing capacity figures of the 2019 I-Pace. The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace ranks as a segment benchmark in terms of the Towing capacity as it has the ability to tow nearly 5300lbs.

Towing Capacity

Speaking of the competition, it's the Tesla's Model X again that closely follows the Jaguar in terms of the towing capacity while the Audi e-tron can haul the lowest weight, as low as 4000 lbs. The wild cat has the highest towing capacity of 5290 pounds.

2019 Jaguar I-PACE electric Fuel Economy

It is obvious that vehicles with electric power have a better range to offer, the Jaguar I-Pace 2019 model is a prime example of this fact as it delivers so much more on its range than it would offer as a petrol head. A massive 298 miles of range on a full charge is what the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace has to offer. Jaguar claims that this has been made possible with the clever weight distribution on the SUV and selection of lightweight material such as aluminium for its chassis.

Further, Jaguar also declared that it takes about 13 hours to recharge the battery to 100% while using a 230 volt AC level 2 charger at home. Your battery will reach up to 80% with 10 hours of charging. A 50-kWh DC high-speed system takes about 85 minutes for a full charge or 40 minutes to an 80-percent level. The lithium-ion battery pack comes with an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty, and Jaguar will replace it for when the efficiency goes down below 70 percent during that span.

Talking about the competition, the Tesla Model X is once again the closest to the Jaguar in terms of range (295 miles), while the Audi e-tron is again the last of the lot.

2019 Jaguar I-PACE electric Interior

Minimalist may be one of the first few words that you will utter out of your mouth, once you step in the cabin of the I-Pace. The Jaguar I-Pace uses a layout that can be seen in other modern Jags. It's spacious and has plenty of room for 5 people. The Big Panoramic Sunroof adds to the overall sense of space and makes matters more airy and light.

2019 Jaguar I-Pace Central Console

Seat Comfort ranks as one of the best in the segment despite the use of relatively sporty seats. The seats are heated all throughout while the front seats are cooled as well. Adding to the conveniences are the power adjust seats that have a memory setting for the driver's seat. Overall material quality usage is top notch and gives the cabin an upmarket feel unlike some of its rivals.

Third (Head/Shoulder/Leg)(In.)

In terms of the dimensions, the Jaguar offers generous amounts of legroom for the front passengers while the shoulder room won't leave many people unhappy. One of the concerns may come in the form of the Headroom as Tall passengers over 6 feet may have their heads touching the sunroof more often than they would have liked. The Rear Seats also come with LATCH compatibility and a set of lower anchors on both rear outboard seats.

Cargo Capacity

The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace doesn't exude the biggest cargo in its class but for what it offers, it certainly is not impractical. With the rear seats folded up, you get a decent 25.3 cubic feet of storage space while with those down, the space improves to a massive 51 cubic feet.

2019 Jaguar I-Pace Trunk Space

Cubby Holes are in plenty inside the Cabin of the I-Pace while the doors house big Cup holders that can easily accommodate 1L water bottles. There is a provision of storing electronic gadgets like laptops and other under the rear seats while the smartphones can be kept behind the shift buttons.

In terms of the competition, the Audi e-tron manages to beat all of its rivals by offering the most space while the Tesla model X grabs second position, a few cubic feet away. The Jaguar I-Pace ranks last in this category.

Infotainment System

The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace employs a futuristic setup for the infotainment system. You will find a big 10.2" Upper Screen and a 5.5" Lower Screen with inbuilt Navigation that shows range based overlays for charging and destinations. An even better 12.3" Digital Gauge Display replaces the traditional Analog Tachometer/Speedometer in the dashboard with Digital Units. Other features include
