Indeed, it belongs right in the thick of rivalry including the likes of Porsche 718 Cayman, and the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Let's see where the Jaguar ends up between these luxury-sport coupes when put in a comparison. Made available in five different trim levels in coupe and convertible style P300, P340, P380 R-Dynamic, R, and SVR - each further divided into 24 cars, Jaguar has a big convoy. Each trim also offers an 8-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual gearbox. The gearbox is based on your decision of purchase.

Starting at $61,745, the P300 is the only trim to feature a turbocharged 2.0L inline-4 cylinder mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. With the P340, P380 and R-Dynamic variants, the trims feature a supercharged 3.0L V6 engine with the engine boasting 340 hp for P340 while 380 horses on the other two configurations.
The R-Dynamic is basically a P380 but comes standard with few extra features to bridge the gap to the R trim. The R and SVR include a 5.0L V8 with 550 horses on the former and an increased output of 580 horses on the latter. These two configurations are the sportiest of the lot and come with a host of intended features alongside the manufacturer's prestigious luxury and opulence.

We recommend
The right F-Type is purely a personal choice for the difference between various configurations it offers boils down to your driving preference. Even the inline-4 is a good choice. Having said that, we'd recommend the R-Dynamic trim as it gives a sweet mix of a V6 under the hood along with extra additions of features in the bag.
2019 Jaguar F-TYPE Engine and Performance
9.5/10
Under this magnificent machine is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This vehicle is a RWD, the machine under the hood is swift and rapid however feels a tad unrefined. Nonetheless its power delivery is brisk thanks to the 4-cylinders mighty torque.

The responsive gearbox is controlled via paddle-shifters and each clink and clank while the motors roar up is greatly tuned to delivering excellent performance. Amongst the coupes coexist equal and more powerful alternatives with the likes of the 718 Cayman, Infiniti Q60, and the Corvette Stingray.

Acceleration
The F-Type's 4-cylinders spurt power to thrust the vehicle from standstill, taking 5.5s from naught to 60 miles per hour while completing the quarter mile in 14.1s. In spite of its brisk acceleration, the competitors propels quicker than it. Holding similar outputs, the 718 Cayman is half a second off the feline's coupe in both the tests. Undoubtedly, the Stingray's V8 thrashes the field with the quickest performance, followed by the Challenger R/T.

With a 6.4 L V8 in place the Challenger has to be the largest coupe in comparison. Unfortunately, it isn't the fastest vehicle. The Chevy Corvette wins by a split second margin. The Jaguar is a complete two seconds slower, clocking 5.5 seconds to reach the 60mph mark from a standstill. The Jaguar is in fact the slowest of the lot. Usually, sports coupe cars reach the mark well within 4 seconds.
Handling and Braking
Built keeping in mind comfort and world class performance, the Jaguar F-Type keeps up the potential between the lines of luxury and sport. While it's tuned towards a firm ride, the 2-seater floats over bumps and potholes easily without questions, and its handling capability allows thrashing and aggressive driving, this helps you unleash the beast that this vehicle is. Otherwise, body roll is readily limited. The F-Type coupe is soldered to the roadway and barely comes across as a weakling.
2019 Jaguar F-TYPE brakes
The large 14" and 13" brakes on the front and rear are good enough to earn the F-Type a competitive spot in comparison to its rivals. At a brake test from 60 miles per hour to a standstill, it takes an excellent 101 feet. Neither mushy nor undulated, the pedals dispense with sensitive braking that are strong, reliable, and stable, just like a Jaguar usually is.

With the curb weight of 3360 lbs, the Jaguar ranks as the third heaviest vehicle. Measuring as much as 4234lbs, the Dodge Challenger ranks as the heaviest of them all. However, it is surprising that a vehicle so heavy takes only 108 feet to come to a standstill. This further translates as a possible edge for the Challenger over the Jag.
2019 Jaguar F-TYPE Fuel Economy
7.8/10
The Jaguar's 4-cylinder is quite frugal, drinking 23 miles per gallon in the city and 30 on the highway. Its thrifty machine places the F-Type at the top of the competition, with the rivals closely competing right behind it. Needless to say, the V8 under the Stingray doesn't perform as bad as the competition, averaging 5 miles per gallon gulped more than the inline 4's amongst the rivals.

Having a fuel capacity of 18.5 gallons, the Jaguar provides the largest range on offer. A 426 miles on City drives and 555 miles on highways. The next best in class is the InfinitiQ60 Red sport 400 coupe. This vehicle offers 400 miles for its City drives and 540 for its Highway drives.
2019 Jaguar F-TYPE Interior
8.5/10
Inside the F-Type P300, space is a compromise you will have to make while aesthetically paralleling luxury and sport. Inside the cabin sewn leather seats alongside leather trim and quality finish are all that you will get to see. Seating 2, the posh and cozy seats are comfortable but headspace and legroom confine tall or thick passengers to a restricted space. However the seating is comfortable and is designed to comfort the back very well.
2019 Jaguar F-TYPE front seats
The low-build of the F-Type poses a problem for tall passengers to get in or out, and the confined space inside it would cause a bit of discomfort for someone like Terry Crews. The enclosed structure next to the thick front pillars and high-mounted rear windows alongside a drop in the front nose, all combine to induce another issue - poor outward visibility.

Being able to seat as many as five people, the Dodge Challenger offers space for the most number of people in its class. While the Infiniti accommodates four people all the other vehicles including the Jaguar F-type Coupe can accommodate only four people. Already having established itself in this segment, the Challenger takes a step ahead to also provide the most room for its passengers.
Interior Features
The list of interior features in the Jaguar include the list given below, however this isn't the sum and substance of what it has on offer. Do make sure to check out the entire package of the interior features. Given below is just a brief list of the features and creature comforts it has to offer.
Overhead lighting console
Electrically adjustable steering column with memory
12-way electric front seats with memory
Single-zone Climate Control
Interior lighting
Deployable front air vents
Infotainment System
While a seemingly reasonable cabin gives way to a decent interior, the infotainment system on the Jaguar F-Type is another case altogether. The latest 10" touchscreen with navigation system is an upgrade from the previous year, but is still not the coupe's forte resulting in mediocre performance and user interface. Also, another big downfall is that the trim doesn't include voice recognition. Adding to the dismay, the technology of the system feels inferior to its rivals.

Cargo Volume
Practicality is not really the F-Type's forte. Welcome a disappointing 7.3 cubic feet for storage in the back while its rivals such as the 16.2 cubic feet of the Dodge Challenger relatively better and commendable for a coupe. Porsche's 718 Cayman holds 15 cubic feet sharing the sweet spot with the Stingray.

The cargo room offered by the Jaguar F-TYPE coupe is the least in its class, it is less than half of what is offered by its rival, Dodge Challenger. Offering only 7.3 cubic feet as it cargo room prices to be a bad choice the Jag has made. The two passengers it can accommodate can at maximum carry a handbag each.
The new F-Type comes virtually unchanged from its previous iteration. Sat alongside four 18" alloy wheels, the coupe is a modern design infused with a classic touch. The Jag's craftsmanship is made with smooth character lines and subtle detail, all culminating to the elegance of the aerodynamic sculpture of the 2-door machine.
2019 Jaguar F-TYPE side view
When viewed from any angle, the sleek and savage look is tasteful and profound. Measuring 176" in length, the F-Type coupe stands 4" from the ground, shorter than most coupes in the competition and weighs 3500 pounds.

With an average wheelbase and decent track width, the jag surely has scope for improvement in the ground clearance area. A meagre 3.9 inches won't do no good. The width, length and height of the vehicle are all in tune with its curb weight, making it a perfect fit. In terms of exterior dimensions, a better ground clearance might just do the job.
Offered with plenty of safety equipment alongside technology, the feline makes sure to keep the driver as well as its passengers protected. The manufacture has kitted the F-Type with affluent and advanced standard safety features such as
Electromechanical parking brake
Rearview Camera
Tire-pressure monitoring system
Safety belt reminder for driver and front passenger
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with secondary collision brake assist and traction control (ASR)
Power central locking system with safety unlock feature if airbags deploy
Anti-theft alarm system

Jaguar F-Type vs Chevrolet Corvette
Chevrolet Corvette proves it's potential over that of the F-Type, it's loud and bashing engine squealing the tires on the track with roaring exhaust rumble. The Corvette has many tricks up its sleeve when it comes to performance and is also equipped with the best interior yet. However the Jaguar is a brit snob with pops and rumbles of its own but just not as quick as the Corvette.
2019 Chevrolet Corvette
However, it has an opulent and luxurious interior that can be something the American lags behind. All in all, the Corvette is your go-to if performance over luxury matters. Else, the Jaguar is a rather refined Englishman. That has all the chivalry and class to flaunt.
Jaguar F-Type vs Porsche Cayman
The Porsche Cayman is the budget alternative to the F-Type. While both offer a 4-cylinder under the hood, the Porsche performs just a little better than the feline coupe. The Porsche handles better and has better grip as compared to the F-Type. However the Jag relatively is also an excellent performer while it purrs across the track. Both the coupe's house gorgeous and opulent interior and with either choice, you can't go wrong.
2019 Porsche Cayman
Jaguar F-type coupe vs Dodge Challenger
In almost every aspect the Dodge Challenger is notch better than the Jaguar F-type coupe. Right from the number of people it can accommodate, exterior dimensions, cargo space, interior room to engine performance. The only aspect where the Jaguar F-type proves to be better than the Dodge Challenger is with regard to its fuel efficiency. To top it all the pricing of the Dodge Challenger is $20000 lesser than what the Jaguar F-type demands.
2019 Dodge Challenger
2019 Jaguar F-TYPE Final Verdict
The Jaguar F-TYPE coupe 2019 version is no doubt a brit made classic machine of engineering with interiors that speak chivalry. For a Sports coupe, the performance that this Feline puts up is above the industry average. However, there are better offerings available in the market in terms of performance, interiors, exterior and engine capacities which are offered at much lower prices when compared to the asking price of the Jaguar F-type coupe.
