Jaguar made its mark when it entered the mid-size SUV market with its Jaguar F-Pace a few years ago. Just like their luxury sports cars and sedans, the F-Pace was a luxury crossover SUV added to the Jaguar family. Since then the F-Pace has been the best selling model of the company which made a mark in this segment. The latest Jaguar F-Pace S340 carries forward that lineage with the addition of more engine options improving the performance of the vehicle. In addition to that, there have been changes to the interior and exterior which adds a premium feel to an existing luxury product.

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace S340 will now be loaded with blind-spot warning, automatic high-beam headlights, a Clear Exit Monitor, rear cross-traffic warning, and a surround-view camera as standard features which would improve the safety and reliability of the vehicle. The F-Pace wasn’t so great on the overall reliability ratings when it first came out, but Jaguar has climbed-up that ladder over the years. It has been successful to make people trust in their SUV just like their sports car and sedans, which is very much reflected in their sales figures. Even though Jaguar has been new to the crossover SUV segment, it has time and again proved that it is here to stay.

J.D. Power Report

J.D. Power is a trusted source of analyzing the reliability of a vehicle. They accumulate feedback from the customers on four factors; quality, reliability, resale value, and dealership experience to provide a holistic view of the entire experience of owning a car. These individual factors are scored and then a total score is aggregated out of 100. The higher the score, the better is the overall reliability of the car.

The 2021 jaguar F-Pace has not been rated by J.D. Power yet, but we can comment on its reliability and quality by looking at the previous years’ F-Pace ratings. The 2020 Jaguar F-Pace achieved an overall rating of 77 out of 100, which places it in 8th position of the top 10 consumer rated SUVs. That is not something to be excited about, but with the way Jaguar has been refining its product, we are hopeful for a better future for Jaguar.

As mentioned earlier, the F-Pace has been looked down on the reliability factor due to its blunder in 2018. But the recent 2020 ratings show that Jaguar has addressed and eliminated those issues which have led people to rate it higher on the reliability factor. It scored 79 out of 100 on reliability and quality which is a decent score. Eleven though dealing in the luxury segment, Jaguar hasn’t scored higher on the dealership experience with just 74 out of 100. The driving experience was rated 78/100 which we suppose would increase in the 2021 F-Pace due to the new engine combination. It scored a decent 75 out of 100 on the resale value.

Has the Jaguar F-Pace S340 had any recalls?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is a government body that conducts tests and maintains the recall history of all the vehicles. The reputation and safety of a brand depend on these ratings by the government bodies and not for profit agencies.

From 3 recalls in 2018 to Zero recalls in 2020, Jaguar has attended all the issues and resolved it. This shows the commitment of the brand to provide a quality product to the customers and keep it refining every year. That holds true for the 2021 F-Pace as well, with new engine options and the addition of turbocharging and electric supercharging with a standard 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Has the Jaguar F-Pace S340 had any complaints from the customers?

As the 2021 F-Pace is not yet available in the market, there have been no complaints registered. But just like the recall numbers, the complaints have decreased from 7 in 2018 to just 1 in 2020. The one complaint registered was about the dysfunction of the heat-shield on the rear tailpipe which led to an injury. Thus it was a minor incident that didn’t lead to the risk of human life. Almost a century-old company, this British Manufacturer surely knows how to make sports cars and sedans, it is just a matter of time when Jaguar will give a tough competition to its rivals.
