The Jaguar F-Pace has always been a bit of an underdog when it comes to interior. It is packed with technology and its feel matches that of much more expensive luxury crossovers. However, up until last year, one could only get the bare-bones minimum in the base trim, with a lot of options needed to suit it better for the pouncing cat badge. The build quality of the past Jags was also a big put-off for potential customers.

Thankfully, that is not the case anymore. Even the base trim of the 2020 Jaguar F-Pace has a lot of features that were previously only available on the top-level Prestige trim. There are a lot of options with the powertrain as well, with a new SVR trim packing a supercharged 5.0L V8, for those who want a more agile experience along with all the tech and luxury the F-Pace has to offer.

Are the F-Pace Seats Comfortable?

Much like many other cars Jaguar has in its lineup, the F-Pace keeps up the tradition of covering the interior with high-quality materials, keeping the use of plastic to a minimum. Even so, it feels a bit less luxurious than the likes of Audi Q5 and the BMW X3. The faux suede leather is smooth to touch and the panels have an immaculate finish. There is a lot of variation with the interior color schemes, so you can choose whatever suits best to your taste.

The F-Pace can easily seat five adults, though the front seats feel a bit cramped for the car’s size. There is plenty of headroom, legroom and shoulder room for three passengers in the back. The seats are 10-way power-adjustable and, along with the tilting-and-telescopic steering wheel, offer a comfortable position to a driver of any size. The visibility is generous, only the small rear window and the B-pillar hampering the rearview.

The acoustics of the car are admirable and let in minimum road and wind noise even at highway speeds. If you got a four-cylinder engine under the hood, you may experience a drone when it sits idle. However, the drone quickly vanishes as the engine picks up some revs. The ride is comfortable for all surfaces, thanks to adjustable suspension and the superb AWD system. That is unless you opt for wheels bigger than 20 inches in diameter.

The option for heated and ventilated seats is available for both the front and back. The automatic dual-zone climate control has the ability to maintain a consistent temperature in any weather. The build quality of the cabin is up to par as well. The 2019 F-Pace may very well remove the doubt of shoddy interior builds that plague Jaguar’s reputation.

Can the Jaguar F-Pace Carry Some Cargo?

As far as crossover SUVs go, the Jaguar F-Pace is a leader in its class in terms of storage. With the spare tire out, the trunk boasts a massive storage space of 33.5 cubic feet. If even that is not enough, the rear seats can be folded 40/20/40, increasing the storage to a whopping 63.5 cubic feet. This much space is enough to store 22 suitcases, which is a lot even for an extended camping trip.

Upfront, though, the narrative changes a bit. In spite of having a lot of thought-out pockets for various small items, they are way too small to be of much use. The center console, doors, and armrests have enough storage for small purses and carry bags. The cupholders are insufficient to hold a large cup of latte. The F-Pace S equipped with the supercharged 3.0L V6 has a towing capacity of 5,290 lbs, which is much better than any of its competitors.

How Is The Infotainment System?

In 2019, Jaguar made the 10-inch multitasking touchscreen as standard on all trims. It is crisp, swift and easy to use. Almost all of the car’s functions such as climate control and suspension settings can be managed by this one display on the center console. The Jaguar InControl Touch Pro infotainment system even supports pinch-and-zoom gestures like any ordinary smartphone. If the size is an issue for you, you can always go for the bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen as per your desire. The dials and gauges on the driver-side dashboard are digital, with an option for a HUD integrated into the windshield.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are available for all trims. This enables for much more intuitive and responsive voice control through Google or Siri, as the default voice control is dodgy at best. Other infotainment features include:

  • Wireless Bluetooth Connectivity
  • Navigation System
  • Push-Button Engine Start
  • 2 USB Ports
  • AUX Input Jack
  • AM/FM/HD Radio
  • Stitcher and MyTuner Pro Satellite Radio
  • Wi-Fi Hotspot
  • 360-degree surround-view camera

The default audio system is a surprise as well. It is an 11-speaker 380-Watt standard sound system developed by Meridian. It can be found even on the bottom of the barrel trim and holds well enough with its subwoofer to play any genre of music. For more enthusiastic audiophiles, Meridian offers an upgrade in the form of an 825-Watt surround sound system that has 17 speakers. This rather impressive piece of audio technology lets you be jovial, listening to your favorite tunes as though the recording studio was right in the car.

Some more technological touches make the 2020 Jaguar F-Pace more convenient to live with. For instance, it comes with an intuitive activity key, a step further than keyless entry and starts. This enables you to wear a smart band-like wrist attachment that is waterproof, dustproof and shockproof. With it, you can unlock the car doors and turn on the engine just like a remote key, even better with no need for a battery. Additional features include rain-sensing wipers, rear window defroster, panoramic moonroof, power liftgate/trunk release and auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

Pros - It drives smooth it?s roomy and gets great gas mileage

Cons - It could be a tad bit cheaper

Overall my vehicle is safe! It is reliable, good on gas , gets great mileage! Wonderful in the snow and rain! I love driving my vehicle! It?s fun, safe, economical! It?s a great family vehicle through and through. I?m very happy with the decision of buying this instead of its competition. It?s the complete package! I can haul things and pull things with it. I feel safe inside my vehicle regardless of going right down the street or 500 plus miles! The outward visibility is good. The design is very sleek and updated for an SUV! I?m in love with my vehicle It has built-in Child seats and booster seats upon request! Very reliable it has never let me down! My SUV is A plus The price was a little steep at first! But when I announced that it would be a cash purchase the price went down significantly. They made me feel right at home! They treated me fairly and gave me a great deal!
