The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace will be getting a mid-cycle refresh that comprises changes in the exteriors, interiors, and addition of safety features as part of the updates this year. Offered in just a single standalone trim that is priced at $49,995, it gets the all-new 11.4-inch Pivi infotainment system. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that churns out 246 hp along with 269 lb-ft of torque that is tamed by an 8-speed automatic transmission. Another switch-up as part of the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace streamlining spree is the dropping of the RWD drivetrain and offering the AWD drivetrain as standard fitment which makes the brand's top-seller even more enticing.

2021 Jaguar F-Pace

The interiors have been redesigned meticulously by keeping the driver's happiness at the forefront and exude that quintessential English luxury vibe that it has come to be known for. Despite being a European made vehicle, it stands out from the crowd easily. Furthermore, the brand has added safety features like Blind Spot Assist, Rear Traffic Monitor, and Clear Exit Monitor as standard to suffice for the absence of safety ratings. Thanks to this very approach, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace finds competition in the well known German adversaries like the aggressively designed Audi Q5, luxury trendsetter Mercedes Benz GLC Class, and the king of driver assistance and safety, the BMW X3.

Overall Rating

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace moves into the new decade as it furnishes a mid-cycle refresh to keep things on point. The ride gets updates in the front and rear fascia, redesigned interiors, Pivi infotainment system, and addition of safety features as part of the updates for this year. Furthermore, instead of being offered in trim levels, the brand has skimmed down the lineup to just the single standalone trim that carries a price of $49,995

Powered by a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 cylinder engine, it brings forward 246 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is the transmission of choice that domesticates the engine and puts its power to good use on the wheels via the AWD drivetrain that is now the standard fitment. With top of the line features and luxuriously laid interiors for the price it asks, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace has no shortage of competitors. The Audi Q5, Mercedes Benz GLC-Class, and BMW X3 are the foremost competitors for the Jaguar.

2021 Jaguar F-PACE Maintenance, Reliability and Warranty

2021 Jaguar F-Pace Reliability Rating and Recalls

Jaguars have earned a name for being rather unreliable owing to the countless recalls its cars had in previous years. The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace strives to change that notion and gets a more reliable and safe build as compared to its predecessor which carried a J.D. Power reliability score of 77 out of a possible 100. This score is based on a few parameters on which feedbacks are collected from registered buyers on their ownership experience. The following are the parameter wise scores of the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace:

Parameter Score out of 100 Verdict
Quality and Reliability 79 Great
Driving Experience 78 Great
Dealership Experience 74 Great
Resale 75 Great

Thankfully, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace does not have any recalls and neither did the 2020 Jaguar F-Pace which further bolsters its stance as a reliable high rider. That being said, the 2019 model did have one recall that was for a major issue in the engine. This recall aimed to rectify the fault in the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt that was not properly manufactured and hence could fracture which would ultimately result in engine failure.

2021 Jaguar F-Pace Cost of Ownership

Thanks to the changes brought in the trim levels, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace lineup is much more streamlined than it used to be. Considering you pick up the standalone trim of the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace as is, the true cost to own for 5-years will stand at $71,510. The following is the yearwise breakdown of the costs of ownership of the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace:

Parameter Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Total
Tax Credit $0 $0 $0 $0 $0 $0
Insurance $1,002 $1,037 $1,073 $1,111 $1,150 $5,373
Maintenance $119 $1,123 $139 $2,597 $3,127 $7,105
Repairs $0 $0 $0 $0 $4,204 $4,204
Taxes & Fees $4,546 $21 $71 $21 $71 $4,730
Financing $3,478 $2,809 $2,089 $1,313 $477 $10,166
Depreciation $15,593 $4,165 $3,402 $3,815 $3,333 $30,308
Fuel $1,813 $1,867 $1,923 $1,981 $2,040 $9,624
Real Cost of Ownership $26,551 $11,022 $8,697 $10,838 $14,402 $71,510

The majority of the ownership costs are housed within the first year owing to the heavy depreciation, high taxes, and high financing fees. However, with the passage of time, all of these reduce and the overall cost of ownership reduces to less than half of what they were in the first year.

2021 Jaguar F-Pace Warranty

To keep up with the vibe of practicality it has going, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace is truly benefited from the limited bumper-to-bumper warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles; whichever happens first. All of the other coverages are also available for the same period and so is the complimentary maintenance for the ride. Hence, you get a truly encompassing factory warranty that will keep you covered for the first few years.

Criteria Period
Limited warranty 5 years/ 60,000 miles; whichever is earlier
Powertrain warranty 5 years/ 60,000 miles; whichever is earlier
24-hour roadside assistance 5 years/ 60,000 miles; whichever is earlier
Corrosion Protection 5 years/ 60,000 miles; whichever is earlier

While the standard warranty is pretty encompassing, some of you might find it crippling. For this purpose, you can get the extended warranty plan that will elongate the warranty to 7-years or 100,000 miles; whichever comes first. The only limit with purchasing the extended warranty that you need to purchase it within the time period of the standard warranty.

Miles per dollar Cost

If you run the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace for an average of 15,000 miles per year, you will be looking at $3,345 as average annual maintenance and fuel costs. At these figures, you will be getting about 4.8 miles per dollar, and consecutively, you will be spending about 21 cents per mile.

2021 Jaguar F-PACE Buying Advice

Owing to the streamlining of the trims in the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace, the benefit is that it is an all-encompassing trim that packs all of the best interior and convenience features along with some of the best safety features and driver assistance tech, all at an asking price of $49,995. However, we would recommend you to pick up an extended warranty plan and the $400 power tailgate accessory, both of which will make your life much easier.

Is buying a used Jaguar F-Pace a good idea?

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace is part of the elite group of crossovers that strike the right balance in all regards ranging from interiors, to exteriors, to safety and ultimately to value for money. But the same cannot be said for its predecessors which made things confusing with the plethora of trim levels. Owing to this very fact, we would recommend you to buy a new 2021 Jaguar F-Pace. But if you don't want to splurge on a new one, the older Jaguar F-Pace can also strike the right chord with you as it would have depreciated significantly.

The F-Pace depreciates about 22% in the first year, and almost 58% by the end of year 5, all of which can be attributed to it being a European luxury vehicle. Taking into account that it debuted in 2017, the F-Pace from that year would have depreciated about 49% by now. Hence, we would recommend you to pick up a 2017 Jaguar F-Pace or a 2018 Jaguar F-Pace from the used car market. Make sure to use depreciation as your asset and you will be able to carve out a sweet deal for yourself. And if you don't want to do that also, then check out the deals we have on used Jaguar F-Pace for sale with prices starting from $22,500.

2021 Jaguar F-PACE Engine and Performance

Powering up the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace is the same 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 cylinder engine that found its home in the base trims of the previous year. This powertrain produces 246 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque which is adequate enough to get the senses moving. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the standard drivetrain for the 2021 Jaguar F-Type is AWD while the RWD from the previous year has been scrapped.

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace comes with a 2.0L turbocharged I-4 that produces 246 hp

The engine might seem like it's on the shorter side, however, it still manages to strike a higher than usual power-to-weight ratio that allows the ride to feel faster than it actually is. Furthermore, the mid-cycle refresh was mostly about granting a facelift and adding features to the interiors and safety suite while the powertrain related changes were reserved for the R-Dynamic and SVR models.

Compared to the rest, the Audi Q5 comes out as the undaunted king while the Mercedes Benz GLC-Class certainly tries to follow up closely in the second spot. The BMW X3 is made mostly for user comfort and hence offers you a lower power figure that is only marginally better than the Jaguar F-Pace.

2021 Jaguar F-Pace Acceleration and Braking

Numbers don't tell the real story, but in this context, numbers do not lie either as the underpowered engine allows the 2021 Jaguar F-Type to complete the 0-60 mph sprint in 6.9 seconds and the quarter-mile is completed in 15.4 seconds. Thankfully, the numbers might not be off-the-charts awesome, they are still enough for an average joe who wants to get the thrill of pulling a fast one.

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace can complete the 0-60 mph sprint in 6.9 seconds.

To keep up with the athleticism of the powertrain, the brand has also upgraded the brakes system on the ride which now gets performance brakes calipers as standard fitment. The brakes inspire confidence in the driver and are well-modulated which translates to a confident and linear slowing down even under duress.

Compared to the rest, the Jaguar F-Pace is the true blue middle part of the crowd. The Audi Q5 hushes off the line in a hurry while the BMW X3 and Mercedes Benz GLC-Class are both in the second spot.

2021 Jaguar F-Pace Drive Experience and Handling

Behind the standard 2021 Jaguar F-Pace's steering wheel, you are actually going to lose any sight of the worry of the world since the grand palatial build of the ride's interiors is exemplary. The 8-speed automatic is honed properly and glides through the gears like a hot knife through butter. Helping you enjoy the elements up close and personal, the steering system and suspension system are also well-honed and strike the right balance between neither too stiff, nor too loose.

The 2021 Jaguar F-Type tames all surfaces with ease

Despite its rather wider build, all the stability and traction control are in place as standard, and hence for those who don't want to play around, you can switch them off to get a true feel of the ride. Add to that the fact that the tires also help in some regard and quash out all the road imperfection problems. Additionally, to make its presence truly felt, the wider stance of the 2021 Jaguar F-Type is the more dominating presence on the road. Also, if you ever let the beast loose, don't worry about tipping over on those sharp turns as the ride is perfectly balanced and does not exhibit too much body roll.

2021 Jaguar F-PACE Fuel Economy

While Jaguars have often been known to be stellar performers, MPG figures as never been their forte. Thankfully, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace tries hard to change that idea as the ride offers 22 MPG in the city, 27 MPG on the highway, and 24 MPG combined. As an added bonus, a 21.7-gallon fuel tank is provided as standard fitment which makes any trip a breeze as you get a total combined range of 521 miles after a full refueling stop.

As the table clearly shows, the BMW X3 maintains its stance as the most fuel-efficient one and comes out on top, only to be crippled by the smallest fuel tank. The Audi Q5 follows in the next spot with similar figures and so does the Mercedes Benz GLC-Class with their respective MPG figures. Unfortunately for the Jaguar F-Pace, there is no space left on the top step and only finds refuge in the fact that it offers the biggest fuel tank and hence the most range.

2021 Jaguar F-PACE Interior

Compared to 2020, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace gets a much more refined interior along with some of the best in class features that surely take its game from an 8 to an 11.5. You get Luxtec upholstery all around the cabin that can be customized in any color to your whims and desires. The biggest and most noticeable change is the adoption of the 11.4-inch Pivi Infotainment system that is seated in the center of the dashboard and is well within the reach of the driver and passenger. The steering wheel also gets leather upholstery while the driver's display is also almost fully digital with an analog dial in the middle.

2021 Jaguar F-Pace various options of upholstery colors in the interiors

As your gaze moves around the cabin, you will notice the center console gets leather upholstery and the shifter knob also gets leather wrapping. The front seats are plenty comfortable and offer power-adjustability to find the right spot for comfort for people of all shapes and sizes. The seats also get heating and whiplash-reducing headrests that are adjustable to offer optimum comfort. The view from the windscreen is quite expansive and offers a perfect view of the road without the roof ever causing an obstruction to the eyeline.

Compared to the rest, the Jaguar F-Pace is spaced adequately and in line with the competitors. However, the Audi Q5 takes the lead in interior dimensions by a narrow margin in all regards. The Mercedes Benz GLC-Class follows in next while the BMW X3 and Jaguar F-Pace are both equally spaced and hence tie in the last place. The rear end of the cabin gets bench seats that offer ample space for seating 3 people comfortably without ever feeling cramped. Despite offering A/C vents for the rear, the rear center passenger will not find it as an obstruction to find a comfy seating position. The other notable features of the interiors are:

  • Ebony Luxtec seats with Ebony/Ebony interior
  • 12-way heated electric front seats with 2-way manual headrests
  • Light Oyster Morzine headlining

2021 Jaguar F-Pace Infotainment System

One of the most welcome changes for the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace is the addition of the 11.4-inch Pivi infotainment system. This system was added to the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque as well and in the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace, and since then, it has changed the game entirely. The system is much more responsive, crisp, and far more intuitive than it has ever been in the previous model years of the Jaguar F-Pace.

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace offers an 11.4-inch Pivi Infotainment System

The system comes with a Meridian Sound System that does a great job at its task and does not disappoint the users. 2021 Jaguar F-Pace Cargo Space

In the interior of the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace, along with a lot of space to sit is an adequate cargo space of 31.5 cu-ft. To put into perspective just how much space that is, you will actually find this enough for 3 medium-sized suitcases, and then have some space left over for a few duffle bags. If you are going to be using it for daily family travel, then it can stow up to 3 months of household supplies.

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace comes with 31.5 cu-ft of cargo space

If the standard cargo space falls short, then you can fold down the rear seats and open up to 69.1 cu-ft. Furthermore, there are also secondary storage spaces like the glovebox, cupholders, overhead sunglasses storage, door pockets with bottle holders, cubby space in center armrests. All of these come in handy to carry along stuff for day to day usage.

Compared to the rest, the Jaguar F-Pace gets the segment-leading cargo space while the BMW X3 comes in the second spot. The Audi Q5 occupies the third spot while the Mercedes Benz GLC Class is the underdog and offers space in the cabin on account of the cargo space.

2021 Jaguar F-PACE Exterior

For 2021, the Jaguar F-Pace gets a mid-cycle refresh to keep things interesting. The front fascia gets the majority of the changes with a redesigned front grille, sharper LED headlamps with signature DRLs, and larger air vents on the front fascia. Furthermore, the front hood also gets redesigned which makes its presence even more striking than it always did.

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace comes with Premium LED headlights with signature LED DRLs

As you move to the side, the 19-inch wheels look spectacular, and the all-season tires with the thinner sidewalls give it an even more menacing look overall. The silhouette it carves is dauntless and fluidic just like is expected from a Jaguar. Also, there are subtle design cues like the gunmetal grey accents and darkened paint tones.

When comparing to the others, it is worthwhile to note the Jaguar F-Pace is the widest and also gets the maximum ground clearance. The BMW X3 is the heaviest of the lot while the Mercedes Benz GLC Class is the lightest. The Audi Q5 is the middle child in all of this as it is neither the lightest nor the heaviest, and dimensionally, it sits in the middle as well.

The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace gets dual-exhaust vents

Once you are done gazing at the wide-set stance of the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace, you will move to the rear end which has also been shaken up slightly and made sleeker with dual exhaust vents which gels perfectly with the vibe that the ride has going for itself. 2021 Jaguar F-PACE Safety

With the changes in the aesthetics and features going everywhere, it is fitting that the same courtesy be extended to the safety features of the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace as well. Thanks to this very approach, the brand has added many safety features to the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace as standard to vouch for the absence of safety ratings from NHTSA or IIHS. Right off the bat, you get Clear Exit Monitor, Blind Spot Assist, and Rear Cross Monitor as standard fitment along with other highlight features. The following are the notable safety features of the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace:

  • Blind Spot monitor

  • Emergency Braking
  • Cruise Control and Speed Limiter

To up the ante, Jaguar-Land Rover has collaborated with the University of Cambridge to develop a new advancement in safety tech which they are calling "Contactless Touchscreens". Through this tech, the brand aims to limit or maybe even eradicate the spread of bacteria and viruses that happen due to contact between infected people and common surfaces which will come in handy once the world resumes to the "new normal" with the COVID-19 pandemic.

2021 Jaguar F-PACE Competition

2021 Jaguar F-Pace vs 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC-Class

The 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC-Class offers the taste of the true-bred European luxury in its upscale build. With more comfortable and opulently built interiors, it also sports softer suspensions that smoothen out most of the road imperfections very easily. Furthermore, it is also more powerful and offers better MPG figures than the Jaguar F-Pace. The icing on the cake is the MBUX infotainment system that makes the overall experience a breeze.

2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class

That being said, the Jaguar F-Pace gets the Pivi Infotainment system and the distinguishing styling cues that make it look like an eye-candy from all directions.

2021 Jaguar F-Pace vs. 2021 BMW X3

The 2021 BMW X3 is the Bavarian king of safety and driver assistance tech at a lower price than the F-Pace. An all-rounder in all regards, the BMW X3 offers the best MPG figures, minimalist yet feature-loaded interiors, and a supple yet comfortable drive that makes it the perfect match for anyone who wants a no-nonsense luxury high rider that means business.

2021 BMW X3

On that note, the BMW X3 strikes a chord like the laid-back ride while the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace is built to be a ride for the enthusiasts with an enchanting drive experience that has a flair for performing. Also, the Jaguar comes with a bigger fuel tank that allows it to offer a much better range despite falling marginally short in terms of fuel economy.

2021 Jaguar F-Pace vs 2021 Audi Q5

The 2021 Audi Q5 is the underdog in this lineup that never fails to impress in any regard. With MPG figures similar to the Bimmer, it basically takes the fight to the gates of the Bavarian. Furthermore, it also looks insanely aggressive as compared to the sleek and suave 2021 Jaguar F-Pace that stays true to its English roots. In the interiors, you also get the award-winning Audi MMI Virtual Cockpit that is technologically advanced and future proof in a manner of speaking.

In order to compete, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace brings in the big guns as it offers the Pivi infotainment system, the biggest fuel tank in the lot, and a driver-centric approach to driving whilst retaining the quintessential luxury character.
