The Jaguar E-Pace is the entry-level compact SUV offering from the brand. It is offered in 3 distinct variants and the range kick starts from just under $40,995. The SUV is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine from the Ingenium series and is offered in two states of tune. In the base P250 trim, the motor puts out 246 horsepower, and in the mild hybrid P300, the engine is good for 296 hp which is also shared with the XE and the base Jaguar F-Type P300.

Jaguar is a well-known name in the territory of luxury cars and they have produced plenty of memorable models throughout their 98 years of life. Recently, Jaguar launched the E-pace, a smaller sibling to their F-pace as a compact crossover utility vehicle. The 2021 E-pace is rumored to undergo some cosmetic changes on the exterior to make it look even more appealing with rumors of a hybrid powertrain to power the car.

The 2021 Jaguar E-Pace line-up comprises 3 trim options: Base, SE, and 300 Sport. As compared to the outgoing 2020 model year, which offered 6 trim levels, Jaguar has now eased up the choice. These Base & the SE trims will be offered with the 246 HP P250 gas engine, whereas the top of the line 300 Sport trim level will be offered with the P300 MHEV engine.
All three specs of the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace will get the same 9-speed automatic transmission as standard. The list of standard features of the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace includes the latest Pivi Pro infotainment technology for the SE and the Sport trims and 'Pivi' infotainment for the base level. Also, the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are now standard across the line-up.

The Base Jaguar E-pace, priced at $40,995, comes equipped with 2.0L I4 with 246 hp, and it houses a lot of primary features for vehicles at this price including driver condition monitor, lane keep assist, leather power seats, full LED headlights, emergency braking, rear camera, etc.
The SE model is priced at $46,095, sports the same engine, and delivers the same 246 hp. On top of the base kit, it further adds a lot of new ones, like 360° parking aid, better seats, adaptive speed limiter, traffic sign recognition, rear traffic monitor, etc.
The 300 Sport comes in at $49,995 and features the P300 MHEV I4 with 296 hp output. It adds to SE amenities along with, R-Dynamic front and rear bumpers, Black Exterior Pack, and Front Fog Lights.
2021 Jaguar E-PACE Maintenance, Reliability and Warranty
The Jaguar E-pace has been quite popular as a compact crossover SUV. But that hasn’t exactly grabbed the attention of critics as it’s reliability is still questioned by many.
Reliability and Ownership costs
Jaguar was ranked 26th out of 31 manufacturers in the 2019 Reliability Survey and that is a testament to the fact that British manufacturer hasn’t exactly been very reliable. The 2020 E-pace also received very average reviews from consumers and critics alike, owing to its poor fuel economy and plasticky and cheap interior for the price point. The E-pace also costs quite high and it faces stiff competition from the BMWs, Volvos, and even Audis at this price point.
As for the pricing, the 2021 Jaguar E-pace is supposed to be priced more or less the same as the currently available trims, starting at around $40,000. However the 2020 model might face depreciation slowly, as the previous models, and resale value might still be good after a year or two. No recalls have been issued to its 2020 or 2019 models which boost its reputation upon the reliability front. We can only wait until Jaguar comes out with their new E-pace to find out how reliable it will be and how much it would cost you.

Jaguar might have questionable reliability but it’s the warranty period where they shine. They provide a 5 year/60,000 mile warranty along with 24-hour roadside assistance. Jaguar also has an extended warranty option which you can buy after the 5 year period is over.
Miles Per Dollar
The 2020 E-pace has an mpg of 21 in the city. The US average gas price in recent times is around $2.536 per gallon. So the Miles Per Dollar for the Jaguar E-pace is around $8.28. This could all change in the 2021 model however new fuel economy is still a mystery.
The 2021 Jaguar E-Pace line-up has been redesigned and compared to earlier, now you get to choose between 3 trim levels. We would recommend the 300 Sport trim level, as it gets the new P300 Mild-Hybrid engine and at the same time offers all the prominent and luxury features like Ebony grained leather sport seats with Ebony, PIVI PRO Infotainment System, and an intelligent 'Active Driveline' All-Wheel-Drive configuration. All of this is on offer for under $50,000, which proves to be a great value for money.
Is buying a used car Jaguar E-pace a good idea?
Jaguar isn’t exactly well known for its reliability but the E-pace is a slow depreciating car in 2020. For the first year, they lose about 15-17% of their value, which is approximately $6000. Jaguar provides a long 5 year warranty period so the repair cost can practically be eliminated from the buyer’s mind.
The 2018 models are found to have the best resale values, and they can be found at a decent value in the used automobile market. They should offer a good experience for the owner.
The 2021 Jaguar E-Pace features a mild-hybrid powertrain, the same as the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, which is a 2L inline 4 along with a 48-volt mild-hybrid configuration that delivers 296 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. However, the MHEV powerplant will be offered only with the top of the line 300 Sport trim level.
The Base and SE trims will still get the 2L turbocharged four-cylinder engine in an inline 4 configuration, that churns out 246 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 269 lb-ft of torque at 1,350 rpm. Both the engines feature the same 9-speed automatic w/ OD. All-Wheel-Drive configuration is offered as standard across the E-Pace line.

Currently, the E-pace delivers the best power output, albeit at a price. The best power to price ratio is provided by the BMW X1. The X1 costs $154 per horsepower but the E-pace costs $162 per horsepower. In terms of value, the BMW takes the win. However, Jaguar is expected to make big changes under the hood in their 2021 E-pace, so these figures might drastically change in the Jag's favor next year.

Powered by the P250 powertrain, the base and SE trims of the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace can accelerate from a standstill to 60 MPH in 7 seconds. At the same time, the more powerful, P300 powertrain can push the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace to 60 MPH in 6.6 seconds. The All-Wheel-Drive has been upgraded to the second generation of standard driveline technology. However, the P300 gets the 'Active Driveline' all-wheel-drive technology, which is even more efficient in terms of power distribution.

In comparison, the braking capabilities of the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace are not the strongest point. In comparison, the Merc is a lot better performer than the E-Pace in terms of braking.

The baby Jag offers the worst braking performance among all the four cars while the Mercedes GLA comes to a halt from 60-0 in just 120 ft. However, only the BMW bests the Jaguar in terms of performance, but the Jaguar still provides the highest top speed.
Fuel economy hasn't exactly been a very strong suit of the E-pace. Although the official figures have not been released by the company yet, we still expect the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace fuel efficiency to be similar to the 2020 E-Pace. With the P250 powertrain under the hood, the Jag offers an mpg of 21/28/24 for city, highway, combined driving, but it does offer a fairly large fuel tank of 18.1 gallons to compensate for the numbers.

The E-pace delivers the least fuel mpg while the Mercedes Benz GLA wins this battle. However, the E-pace does offer a high range, second only to the BMW, thanks to its fuel tank capacity which is the largest among its competitors. Fuel economy should increase if a hybrid powertrain is indeed used in the 2021 edition.
The 2021 Jaguar E-Pace interiors feel posh and beautiful. It looks premium, owing to the Jaguar badge that it carries, but the interior is majorly made of plastic, which might bother some people. The front cabin is spacious with power seats wrapped in leather. It houses an 11.4-inch infotainment screen at the center and the steering is also wrapped in leather, behind which the gauge cluster is placed.

But it won’t feel like an entirely new car, though, as the changes would be quite limited. The back seats, however, are a little cramped. It is pretty evident that after the GLA, the E-pace is the one with the most congested back row. It does make up for it though, with its spacious cargo capacity of 24.2 cubic feet and 52.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded; which is the best in class for any luxury crossover SUV.
How’s the 2021 Jaguar E-pace infotainment system?
The new and redesigned 2021 Jaguar E-pace gets some changes made to the infotainment system, like a bigger infotainment screen. The 2021 Jaguar E-Pace houses an 11.4-inch PIVI Infotainment System with features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto standard across all models.

2021 Jaguar E-PACE Exterior
The 2021 Jaguar E-Pace has received a facelift. It now features new front and rear fascias, with a new grille, screaming more aggression and style. The headlights look very cat-eye like, and they will be redesigned, just like the taillights. Dimensionally though, there aren't going to be a lot of changes.
The new all-LED headlamps of the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace flaunt the double J-Blade Daytime-Running-Lights. The sculpted body-lines also give the new 2021 E-Pace a more aggressive and performance-oriented look. The 'pouncing cat' design is prominent throughout the body design of the 2021 Jaguar E-Pace.

The E-pace is already the heaviest among all the vehicles and if a hybrid powertrain is added, it will become even heavier; while the Mercedes is the lightest. We can also see it is very compact as it has the shortest length while BMW is the longest. The E-pace is pretty tall too, second only to the XC40 by 0.4 inches.

2021 Jaguar E-PACE Safety
The 2020 E-Pace scored a 5-star rating in the roll-over test conducted by the NHTSA. Jaguar hasn’t revealed the addition of any new safety features in its new E-pace model, and it’s unlikely they would add anything else to the already existing features. Some of which include:
The GLA costs significantly less than the Jaguar E-pace, but it doesn’t offer the same performance numbers, owing to the fact that it’s a more luxury-focused car. The GLA sips less fuel; and it will not break your bank either. The E-pace is a better all-rounder but comes with a hefty price tag. A hybrid powertrain in the 2021 E-Pace can change everything in favor of it, though.

Here it’s a completely different story as the X1 bests the E-pace on almost all fronts. It performs better, it’s more spacious, better fuel economy, features, and almost everything at a lower price. The X1 clearly dominates the E-pace. Now we must sit back and wait for Jag to hit BMW back in 2021 with its hybrid powertrain.

With a starting price of $40,995 and the top of the line 300 Sport trim for just a shy under $50,000, it provides a great value for money. The 2021 Jaguar E-Pace has now been released and is now available at your nearest Jaguar dealerships.

Cons - No blacked out appearance option in this trim. No chrome on the front grille. Second row is not meant for taller people because of lack of headroo
