The 2021 GMC Yukon XL has been facelifted and it certainly shows. The three-row extended SUV looks stunning thanks to its muscular and box-shaped design and it certainly performs just as good as its previous version. The twelfth generation Yukon XL has come a long way from its humble beginning back in 1937 and has already taken the automotive industry by storm with its powerful presence.

The GMC Yukon XL has been completely redesigned for the 2021 model year and has a very unique design language. Apart from the bold redesigned look, the GMC Yukon shares a lot of its mechanicals with the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, it’s corporate cousins. Being a family-hauling SUV, you can do those grocery shopping trips, trips to the dentist, and trips to the mall without a fuss and enjoy it in the process.

The 2021 GMC Yukon XL competes against tough competitors like the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2021 Ford Expedition, and the 2021 Toyota Sequoia. As far as the price is concerned, you can expect the price tag to start from $54,695 and climb all the way to $84,000 based on the variant you would like to opt for, the optional features you would like to add, and the destination charges. The 2021 GMC Yukon XL does justice to the price regardless of the variant you opt for thanks to the craftsmanship, level of detail, and the performance figures the full-size luxury SUV offers. But with such tough competition in the performance aspect, let’s have a look at how the 2021 GMC Yukon XL fares.

American cars are known for their big engines and beefy power figures. It’s an obsession that can be seen in each and every car manufactured to date and the 2021 GMC Yukon XL is just one more example. The 2021 GMC Yukon XL has two gasoline engine options, namely the 5.3-liter V8 Engine producing 355 horsepower 383 foot-pounds of torque and the 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 420 horsepower and 460 foot-pounds of torque. The V8 is the jewel in the engine department reminding the full-size SUV of its devilish side.

2017 GMC Yukon

Pros - Clean cabin design. Powerful engine. GMC reliability.

Cons - High cargo loading floor. Outdated front design.

The no-nonsense giant from GMC! My 2017 Yukon has 47,000 miles on it and no problems. This car has everything you would want in an SUV. Some have complained about problems with their Yukon’s but not this one. It has a powerful 6.2 liter V8 and can pull around 8500 lbs. The interior cabin is sleek and so much cheaper to maintain than a BMW. The only thing that bugs me is hig loading floor which makes loading heavy stuff difficult! My trusted place for my Yukon maintenance needs. Capable and efficient bunch of folks. Highly recommend for your GMC repair needs!

Our 2013 Yukon!

Pros - Comfortable ride. Spacious cabin. Great towing capacity.

Cons - Too many repairs. Value depreciation.

Didn't really expect from a GMC engine! The Yukon was our beloved family SUV for over six years until we sold it six months back. Over time, it was a great vehicle for long trips. However, since the past two years there were considerable amount of repairs that came up. The first major issue was an oil/coolant mix which required completely strip down of the engine. Ever since, the fuel economy was really botched. Next thing I know, there was burning smell when I tried to start the Yukon one weekend. A burned starter motor! It actually felt like the engine was falling apart piece by piece. Hence, we decided to sell it off to make way for a new one. However, didn't really get the value we were expecting! I have been a regular customer to the workshop since 2016. I have had mostly good experiences here. But, the only time I entrusted my Yukon with a major oil/coolant mix problem, they seemed to have been wrong somewhere. The problems with the engine started being repetitive after that visit. Probably will never consider a GMC or this workshop again!
