Driving a 460-horsepower V8 muscle car on American roads used to mean a lot of service checks and breakdowns once upon a time. Not so much anymore. The 2020 Ford Mustang GT Convertible gives you the thrill of not only driving one of the best modern muscle cars, but do it while feeling the gust of wind past your hair. You don’t have to worry about any of the parts falling off, either. The Ford Mustang GT is more than capable enough to make a few cross-country trips without breakdowns.

Every Mustang GT that leaves the production line is tested vigorously for quality control. Since it first went on sale last year, the 2019 Mustang GT has had a good overall track record during its production life. We expect quite the same this year around, too. There have been no consumer complaints or investigations against the 2020 Ford Mustang GT Convertible registered with the NHTSA. The chassis is long-lasting and the build of the car is tough. The new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires also provide a perfect balance between grip and durability.

J D Power Report

J D Power has given the 2020 Ford Mustang GT a great score of 78 on their standard 100-point scale. All Mustangs provide a good driving experience. More so with the GT trims that pack in a powerful V8 engine. They hold up their value pretty well, too. You can try selling your Mustang after you have had your bit of fun with it. You won’t lose a fortune over it, too. The Mustang GT holds up its value with a lower depreciation that you might find on other Ford cars.

The quality and reliability is where the Mustang loses points. Being a Ford, you can expect quite a bit of issues with your Mustang for the time you own it. Thankfully, the warranty and service plan that goes with every car gives you the satisfaction of keeping your Mustang in optimum condition. While customers don’t get a five-star treatment when looking to buy a Mustang, it is certainly convenient and hassle-free in any major US city.

Recalls

While the earlier variants of the new generation Ford Mustangs had a few recalls, there have been none for 2020. Ford has made the FordPass Connect standard for all trims and optimized the diver-side digital display. This means that the screen won’t go blank when you turn on the ignition, a problem that persisted in quite a few Mustangs of 2019.

Warranty

The 2020 Ford Mustang GT comes with a standard Ford warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes earlier. While the warranty is limited when compared to other sports cars such as the Porsche 718 or the BMW M4, it is better suited for the powertrain of the car that is sure to be pushed to the limit. A Mustang is fun to play around after all.

  • Limited Warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles
  • Drivetrain Warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles
  • Roadside Assistance of 5 years or 60,000 miles

Is the Ford Mustang GT Convertible reliable?

Ford has improved on most aspects of their star car in recent years. The reliability of the Mustang is not left out of those. It is rugged enough to take on the chores of daily routine and burn rubber across the local drag strip, all in one day. The Mustang’s simplicity and popularity are what work most in its favor in terms of reliability. So, if any problem does occur, it is easy and inexpensive to get the car repaired and back on the road.

Pony car.

I didn? buy this for short drives like shopping, and commercial purposes. It? purely meant for long drives on the highway. I like the sound of the engine roaring under the hood while driving at great speed.
