With products that are not just reliable, practical, and efficient but also affordable, Ford has come a long way. With a value for the money price tag and a highly efficient engine, the 2020 Ford Mustang is one of the most practical and affordable muscle cars in the segment and the 2021 model is expected to remain similar. The Mustang used parts and components of great quality and ages well over time. In addition to this, this great car is backed by segment-leading warranty coverage.

The Ford Mustang is cheap to maintain as it not only gets reliable components but affordable spares as well. On average, the car is available for $26,120 while the detailed pricing per state is given below:

Washington

$26,120

Florida

$26,230

California

As per the data available on the NHTSA website, there have been two recalls issued for the 2020 Ford Mustang. These recalls include:

  • Front Facing Camera Improperly Calibrated
  • Out of park warning message and chime too short

The issues were rectified by the brand without any hassle and we expect the 2021 model to become without such issues.

Warranty

The warranty coverage offered by Ford for the Mustang is not bad considering the segment standards.

  • Limited Warranty Covers 3 Years or 36000 miles
  • Powertrain Warranty covers 5 years or 60000 miles
  • No complimentary scheduled maintenance

Under the standard warranty, the owners of the vehicle are covered for any kind of malfunction which may occur in the vehicle. Forde offers one of the best warranty periods in the segment and the rivals find it tough to match it.

Miles Per Dollar

The Ford Mustang gets great quality components and is an extremely reliable product. Apart from the scheduled maintenance, the car will not require anything extra if driven carefully. In ideal conditions, expect to spend around $1-2 Dollars per mile you travel which not only includes the gas but in addition to this, also includes the consumables, tires, and other wear and tear.

2021 Ford Mustang Buying Advice

The Ford Mustang is a highly competent car in the muscle car segment and gets a feature-rich cabin. The interiors are a nice place to be in and the build quality is great too. The car scores high on practicality and reliability front. If you need fun to drive and easy to maintain a car, the 2021 Ford Mustang may just be a great choice for you.

Is buying a used Ford Mustang a good idea?

The Ford Mustang is a great vehicle and gets a very reliable mechanical setup. There are plenty of cars available in the used car market at reasonable prices. Overall, since the car gets brilliant after-sales support, buying a used Mustang may save you a decent sum of money.

2021 Ford Mustang Engine and Performance

7.0/10

The 2020 Ford Mustang is powered by a 5.0-L V8 engine that churns out 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed MT and can be had in RWD drivetrain options. Overall, this 5L engine is one of the most refined and reliable engines in the segment and the 6-Speed MT too is great with the shifts.

Push the car into the corners, or drive it in a sedate manner, the engine will always have optimum performance output for every situation. The 2021 model is expected to carry forward the same engine and gearbox combination.

The 2020 Ford Mustang is a powerful vehicle in the segment and the same is reflected in the 0-60 MPH timings. The car does a 0-60 mph run in 4.2 seconds and then finishes the quarter-mile run in 12.2 secs. With this being said, we expect the 2021 model to offer similar figures if not better.

2021 Ford Mustang Interior

9.0/10

The 2020 Ford Mustang scores very high in terms of interior comfort, practicality, and overall functionality. The interiors are luxurious and of high quality. In addition, bright interiors make the occupants feel calm inside the cabin. The plastics used inside the cabin are of supreme quality and feel very luxurious and soft to touch.

At the front, the seats are comfortable and the seats provide the right amount of cushioning to its passengers. Ingress and egress from the car are easy because of the high stance and overall, the interiors are decent. Even with a cabin that is very comfortable and feature-rich, the rear seat space in the Mustang feels very cramped.

The space available inside may not be the highest in the segment but the overall fit and finish levels are great. On the plus side, the rear seat is comfortable and has enough support to make it comfortable on long journeys for those who can fit in that cramped up space.

2021 Ford Mustang Coupe Cockpit Area

The 2020 Ford Mustang is a highly practical vehicle for day-to-day use. The vehicle gets enough storage spaces at the front. There is a huge storage bin in the center console below the driver’s armrest and other small places to store other stuff.

With the 2021 update, the Ford Mustang is expected to get an updated feature list and marginal improvement in terms of the overall dashboard layout.
