With a similar exterior design for more than a decade, Chrysler’s decision to continue with the 300 can be termed as a bold move. However, there have been talks going on where Chrysler might finally update the 300’s powertrain for a hybrid set up which indicates that Chrysler is not keen on putting an end to the 300’s legacy. With a starting price of$30,040 that is similar to the 2020 Chrysler, the 2021 Chrysler 300 will have minor software updates and enhanced exterior design.

The 2021 Chrysler 300 line-up sees five trims.Base models hood a 3.6L V6, while the top of the trim, 300C gets the bigger 5.7L HEMI V8. Both come attached to an 8- speed automatic transmission, with both Rear-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive option. With the upcoming model expected to be released later at the end of this year, it will go against the likes ofChevrolet Impala,Nissan Maxima, andDodge Charger.

The Chrysler 300 as a sedan has often evoked mixed responses. Despite riding on the same underpinnings since its 2005 model, constant updates and revisions have managed to keep the 300 look relevant and attractive to a certain extent. But that’s it, After the second-generation major style update, the 300 has more or less remained the same throughout these years. 2021 300 which will be a continuation of the same 2020 model will follow the same path too.

As far as changes are concerned, there’s a new Performance Package on offer now. Speculations are also going where Chrysler might introduce a new hybrid engine, but that has not been confirmed as of yet. And speaking of unconfirmed news there’s also news going on that there might be a new crossover car, and that that might give the 300 a much needed new air to breathe with fresh styling on an all-new platform.

2021 Chrysler 300 Features

7.5/10

The latest 2021 line-up of the Chrysler 300 gets five exciting trims to choose from Touring, Touring L, 300S, Limited 300C. Comfort features are more or less the same in all five trims that live up to its price tag. However, the cloth-stitched seats in the base Touring do fall out of place at times but with features like Automatic bi-function Halogen Projector headlights and FCA’s till-date most interactive U-Connect system, it does fair it out among its competition. Minor upgrades on the same platform keep neat aesthetics and power figures refined.

Speaking of which, Chrysler offers two engines to the 300 line-ups. . The 300S gets the V8 as an option. Al trims come with rear-wheel drive and an optional all-wheel drive. Theexterior of the Chrysler 300 continues to look that Bentley-isque with ample chrome finishing, wide wheelbase, massive 20-inch alloy wheels, and sleek sides. The Red S package really makes the 300 a sporty looking vehicle and with blacked-out specs, 300 is a pretty good looking car.

2021 Chrysler 300 vs Chevrolet Impala

Unlike the 30 theChevrolet Impala has seen some significant improvement from the past. From an eye-catching exterior design with chrome bars with a swooping roofline, when compared to the 300C with its look, the Chevy comes off much more fluidic compared to the 300 boxy design. But philosophically, both follow a different approach. While the Impala comes off as a brilliant practical alternative, the Chrysler 300 believes to be its exact opposite. But with an optional V8 and heavier curb weight, the 300 is much more exciting to drive. So as far as joy factor is concerned, the Chrysler 300 offers a much more engaging drive than the Impala.

Chevrolet Impala Sedan

2021 Chrysler 300 vs Nissan Maxima

TheNissan Maxima features better performance numbersand is also the lightest in the segment. On the other hand, the Chrysler 300 features similar power numbers but is the heaviest of the lot. The exterior appeal of the Chrysler 300 looks much more premium and imposing than the sleekly designed Maxima. The interior cabin of both sedans are at par with comfortable seating and premium material selection, but Chrysler’s infotainment system puts it above the Nissan.

Nissan Maxima Sedan

2021 Chrysler 300 vs Dodge Charger

The exterior aesthetics of both the sedans are similar to massive alloy wheels, bolder front, and sleeker sides.Though the Charger is much more on the sportier side, Chrysler 300 oozes premium vibes. In terms of performance, both full-sized sedans get a similar sized engine and similar power output. And since both are FCA models, reliability figures will be on par with each other. But the Charger with a loyal fanbase will get more preference than the 300.

Dodge Charger Sedan

2021 Chrysler 300 Final Verdict

If you want to get your hands on an extremely premium-looking sedan with loads of standard amenities, promising performance, high reliability, and extravagant cabin, all at a budget price tag, the new 2021 Chrysler 300 are the one to ponder upon. The foundation of the car has been kept similar from over a decade with minor tweaks and refined performance. The latest lineup gets updated infotainment features with a smoother interface and also equipped with advanced safety features and driver assistance for the hassle-free driving experience. Overall, the 2021 Chrysler 300 sets a new style benchmark with a good balance of luxury and sport.

Pros - Infotainment features, design, and LED headlights.

Cons - Fuel tank size, rear visibility, white stitched seats

V6 engine provides plenty of power to accelerate and gives an engaging driving experience. The fuel tank size is small, for the size and that's a bit of a problem

Not a fuel efficient vehicle.

I'm happy with every single thing except the miles for gallon numbers

300's design

Handling is impressive. Taking it to twisties gives out its true brute and agile nature. The engine noise makes its way into the cabin which is the only downside after its comfort focussed downshifts

Genuine sports sedan, pause, on papers

I love the space and the ameneties inside out. Driving part of this Chrysler is just average and the acceleration always feels sluggish. All this is topped with poor gas mileage too. The only thing that makes it an ideal family hauler by giving it the ability to drive in any weather condtion is its awd system

Four door super sports car.

I had a lot of fun on the road by driving this car. It speeds up the acceleration significantly. Generating pretty good horsepower on the drive which makes this a pretty fast sedan. Handling is also decent as compared to its size.
