Considering the acceleration figures, the 2015 Chevrolet Trax isn’t the best performer amongst the competitors and takes its time to reach 60MPH from naught. Even in the quarter-mile run, the car is an average performer and won’t pin any excitement meter around. The fastest car of the lot is 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SUV which is just a tad bit quicker than the 2015 Chevrolet Trax both in terms of 0-60 and quarter-mile timing.

The braking on the 2015 Chevrolet Trax is quite sure-footed and has an evident bite to it. Although it is not the best braking car in its segment it’s not the worst either. The ride takes some time to come to a complete halt but it does so with composure and the car doesn’t sway away from its path. During the emergency braking test, the car decelerates from 60MPH to zero in 120 feet which is a little slower than 2015 Ford Escape.

Broken parts plus no warranty on them!

Pros - Easy to drive, great gas mileage

Cons - Frequent problems with air conditioning system

Unnecessary inconvenience I had problms with my air conditioning unit from about 11,000 miles or so. The dealership kept on rectifying it but the compaint kept on reccuring. Once I even had to travel nearly 250 miles without AC and that too in the rain! Now, clocking nearly 14,200 miles thay wanted me to replace the compressor, which would cost $950, including fitting. Thankfully I was able to source one locally for $450 and could get the work done in under $500. Except for this, the car was quite economical! I'm not quite impressed with the service team though the purchase procedure went by quite nice thanks to Simon.

Check out NHTSA complaints before purchase

Pros - Decent amount of features for the price

Cons - Very slow, not so spacious, issues keep popping up

issues keep popping up It feels very slow and the rear does not allow 3 adults to sit with comfort. The brakes went out only at 19,500 miles. Had it replaced from dealer which demanded money as they said brakes are excluded from warranty. Exhaust gas coming from the AC vents was another issue that the dealer got fixed. So I recommend checking out NHTSA complaints section before making a purchase. Brakes are not covered under warranty is what they said me, but still the went out very early. So atleast some compensation could have been provided. But NAH!
