2012 Chevrolet Traverse Price, Review, Ratings and Pictures

Priced at $29,660, the Chevrolet Traverse goes against the likes of Nissan Murano, Toyota Highlander, and the Kia Sorento. It comes with a 3.6 Liter V6 engine mated to a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission that does its job quite well. The transmission shifts are quick and smooth and help the car with a comfortable ride. The base trim may lack features, but as you climb higher, all the modern features start to thrill you.

It also has one of the best cargo spaces and safety scores in the segment, which makes it a tough to beat car in the segment. The Chevrolet Traverse comprises a bigger and typical midsize SUV ideal for your daily driving and also for long journeys with family during the weekends. It has an enormous cabin, and thanks to its unibody structure, this big SUV is light and is more maneuverable than most of its rivals in the segment.

Pros - Good engine , suspension and features

Cons - Lacks nimbleness

Practical choice with good overall performance This SUV is very practical in use and the drive feels more comfortable for me and the powerful engine, the best suspension was at the top to give the best possible drive in the worst roads too. The cabin comforts are very impressive for me with the features like automatic headlights, keyless ignition/entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, a touchscreen audio interface . The ride quality and agility are a disappointment.

Beware!

Pros - Spacious, maintains comfort levels even on slightly rough roads

Cons - Problems mostly with powertrain related components

Many issues mostly with powertrain related components I own a local grocery store, and my husband gifted me this leased Traverse almost 2 years 9 months in the past. It came is handy for weekend trips, dropping and picking up children from school, and majorly as my home delivery helper. Drive it seldom because three months out and it's gonna put you in trouble. The components like drivetrain, alternator, timing chain have been replaced or repaired, and I am about to complete just 3 years in a few months. Although there has not been any major accident or complete lockout, I am not gonna wait for it. Plus, this is within warranty, so it doen't cost us for now. But once warranty is out, we don't want to be regret later with high bills. As soon as the 3 year lease completes, we are going to trade it. I have had multiple issues and although they are understanding and treat me nicely, the time taken for repairs is too much to rate them good.

Is it good?

Pros - Good handling, decent ride quality, smooth

Cons - Noisy, seats could have been better, visibility

No, it is not good! In the world of compact SUVs, there are plenty of good vehicles to choose from but Chevrolet Traverse is not one of them. It is decent but there are better SUVs available in the market. So, do your research and find the vehicle that suits you the best. Don’t rush the decision like me. They were polite and respectful throughout the process.

The Chevrolet Traverse is a three-row SUV that can happily accommodate a total of 8 passengers inside its cabin combining all the rows of seats inside it. 2012 Chevrolet Traverse Final Verdict

The 2012 Chevrolet Traverse is a good affordable midsize SUV for the price. It is known for its practical third row of seats and a decent fuel economy in its class, which is at par with most of the competitions. The V6 engine of the vehicle is powerful enough for all the needs, and the transmission shifts are quick. It has a precise steering and a composed ride, which is great for easy parking in tight spaces. However, the interior feels a bit cheap because of the presence of hard plastics. But the seats are comfortable and offer ample support and comfort level on long journeys. Overall the SUV is a decent pick for the segment.
