The 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe is part of the fifth generation which changed the perceptions by introducing the latest, and best technology GM had to offer. It is a profound change from all previous Tahoes as the current model is a full-redesign. The 2022 Chevy Tahoe is the new king of the full-sized family SUV which will be released as a carry-over model in late 2021. The potent V8 engines along with the new diesel option will be available but the automaker has not revealed any plans to offer a Hybrid engine with Tahoe.
GM revamped the current Tahoe model, enhancing the capabilities and interior quality of this full-size SUV. It's just the second model year for the Tahoe ever since it has been completely revamped. For 2022, the prices of the Chevy Tahoe will be similar to the current model. The 2021 Tahoe has a base price starting from $49,000 and going upto $69,600 for the most expensive High-country trim. GM plans to bring their A-game to the second model year with some minor updates to make sure it reigns its dominance as the best-selling SUV.
The Tahoe, overall, takes pride in its bold interior that is totally up-to-date and its independent rear suspension. With better cargo space, a flat load floor, and excellent space in the third row, the new 2022 Chevy Tahoe is all set to take your heart. The dash is also curvier and well-tiered. That makes the design even more appealing. The dash is mounted with the dials and the large buttons, which allows the driver to drive smoothly. The most potential competitors of the Tahoe are the Ford Expedition, Toyota Sequoia, and Nissan Armada.
2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Pricing and Features
Chevrolet will soon be launching the 2022 Tahoe for sale with some minor changes in the features list as well. Chevrolet will continue to offer the 2022 Tahoe in six trim levels: LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier, and High Country. The base price will start from $ $49,000 (excluding a $1,295 destination charge), similar to the current 2021 Tahoe model. The most expensive Tahoe will be the High Country trim, costing $69,600.
The 2022 Tahoe LT is the most valuable and well-equipped trim. However, the Tahoe RST will get you exclusive Blacked-out aesthetics, Contrast-color interior stitching, Black chrome exterior trim, and 22-inch wheels for around $57,000.
Chevy is expected to provide the same 3 engine options in the 2022 model of Tahoe as it did in the current model. The standard engine would be a 5.3-liter V8 generating 355 horses and 383 lb-ft. of torque. Along with this, there’s a 6.2-liter V8 engine (available as optional) generating 420 horses and 460 lb-ft. of torque. A second optional engine available is a turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder extracting 277 horses and 460 lb-ft. of torque figures. These engines come mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive is optional. The 8 and 10-speed transmission regulates the torque along with rear-wheel drivetrain availability.
The 2022 Chevy Tahoe can sprint to 60 mph in just 6.0 seconds and can also complete a quarter-mile drag race in 16.7 seconds. When it comes to braking, similar to the acceleration it is a herculean task stopping these big bulky SUVs.

As there are no changes for the upcoming year model, the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe will be delivering the same performance numbers with its base engine. However, the availability of the more performance-oriented 6.2L V8 engine may compete better with the competition. As long as the base performance attributes are concerned, the 2021 Nissan Armada is leading the charts with the best numbers. Following its lead is the 2021 Toyota Sequoia that stands tall in the second position, and following that, the 2021 Ford Expedition lands in third place.
2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Towing And Payload Capacity
Mechanically, the 2022 Tahoe is similar to the current model and is based on a new architecture with a longer wheelbase. 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Fuel Economy
The 2022 Chevy Tahoe is expected to give out 16 mpg in the city, 20 mpg on the highway, and 18 mpg combined, just like the mpg ratings of the 2021 model. The rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive setup does not affect these numbers. Similar to the previous model, the 2022 Tahoe is expected to be offering likewise mpg ratings. If you go for the 6.2-liter V8 engine, then the fuel economy ratings will be 15/20/17 mpg for city, highway, and combined with RWD, respectively. With an all-wheel drivetrain, it will be 14, 19, 16 mpg for city, highway, and combined, respectively.
Talking of the gas mileage, the Chevy Tahoe with its 24 gallons of fuel tank capacity, can take up the vehicle for over 500 miles. The V8-powered SUVs often don’t give out a great fuel economy.

Though the 2021 year model of Tahoe performed better in terms of fuel economy than its 2020 year model, there are minimum chances that we would see any better results this year. However, the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe should stand tall and secure itself in the second position under the fuel economy roster. Proudly leading the charts, the 2021 Ford Expedition delivers a combined economy of 19 mpg. Both Armada and Sequoia clashed for the last spot.
"The 2021 Chevy Tahoe gets larger, roomier, comfier, and loaded with more features than a cineplex" - TheCarConnection.com
The interior of the 2022 Tahoe will carry over unchanged as Chevy redesigned the 2021 Tahoe's interior. The cabin is capacious as compared to the previous generation model with almost 66% more cargo space. With the 2021 redesign, Tahoe resolved the earlier complaints pertaining to a narrow third row. The new Tahoe offers almost 10 inches more legroom while the 2nd-row seats slide forward and provide the back passengers more room and stretching space. The interior provides flat flooring because of the new, much-improved structure and the independent rear suspension. The second and the third rows feature a great amount of cargo area. When folded, Tahoe has 123 cubic feet of space, which is 28 cubic feet more than the fourth-gen model.
For creature comfort, there are many optional features available such as a larger digital cluster-gauge display, a large head-up display, wireless telephone charging, and heated & ventilated seats. If you are one of those who like traveling alone but in an utmost relaxed position, then this 2022 Tahoe is the perfect car for you. Its connectivity features, infotainment system, and exceptional space allow you to get a relaxing ride.

On the visual end, the front end has a huge grille layout inspired by the Silverado. While most of the 2022 version is inspired by the previous version, it comes with all the shortcomings improved. The above data has been extracted from the 2021 model of the Tahoe. On the basis of that, the 2021 Toyota Sequoia offers the highest ground clearance of 9.9 inches along with the highest wheelbase.
Safety-wise, there’s nothing compromised in the Chevy Tahoe. The 2022 Tahoe will feature automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, Teen Driver driving report card technology, a rear-seat reminder system, OnStar Safety & Security subscription services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency call.
Some latest notable upgrades available are rear cross-traffic warning, blind-spot warning, rear pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. You can also get automatic emergency braking working at 50 mph or more speed, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot warning system including trailer coverage and the vibrating Safety Alert Seat technology feature if you go for Tahoe’s Premium or High Country trim levels.
2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Competition
2022 Chevrolet Tahoe vs. Toyota Sequoia
The 2022 Sequoia is one of the silent cars which offers a lot but doesn’t have the oomph to beat the charts leading 2022 Chevy Tahoe. Starting with the interiors, Sequoia has decent interiors but the Chevy has a better fit and finish, and uses better quality materials. One thing Toyota lacks is space while the 2021 Tahoe offers even more space. However, the Japanese Sequoia is a more reliable option in the segment than the Chevy Tahoe.
2022 Chevrolet Tahoe vs. Ford Expedition
This rival from Ford offers tough competition to Tahoe in every sense. Be it the engine performance, the space it has on offer, and the features. The winner between the two is difficult to choose and it's better to wait for the new version of the Expedition for a fair comparison. Coming at a starting price of $54,205, the 2021 Ford Expedition is slightly more expensive than the 2021 Tahoe.
The release schedule, is of course, not yet available even on the official website. However, we can expect the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe to arrive somewhere during the fall. And it would have a starting price of $50,000. Overall, if you’re interested to pick up a heavy and technologically advanced SUV, then you should definitely keep an eye out for the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Chevy redesigned the Tahoe for the 2021 model year, the 2022 Tahoe is expected to carry over mostly unchanged. Accordingly, the 2022 Chevy Tahoe will have a similar base price of $49,000. The most expensive High-country trim will begin at $69,600.
What other SUVs can be compared to the Chevrolet Tahoe?

Cons - Gas mileage, the interior is of poor quality
Chevrolet... I expected better from Chevrolet. Using cheap materials in the interior was given at this price but this much is just plain unacceptable. Chevy, at least use soft material for the touchpoints instead of hard plastic. And on top of that, it is a Gas guzzler! I know good performance comes at the cost of gas, but It isn’t that powerful or fast where I would willingly compromise on mileage. Great place to purchase a vehicle!
Driving through the gas station just about every week
Pros - Space for starters, credibility, multiple storage spaces and cubby holes
Cons - Only gets subtle paint options, Not so easy to drive, turning radius, gas guzzler
Travelling with a family of five was never this easy Yes, no brainer it is a gas guzzler and isn't as easy to drive as other smaller cars Should get more paint options. Only comes with these subtle paint jobs for some reason. I wanted a Lincoln green which apparently was too much to ask for it seems Anyone behind the wheel of a Tahoe will feel that sense of power and ability to drive to remote places withiut having to worry about anything other than gas. haha Too bad the paint options are limited I'm sure it can take a pretty serious hit without getting even a scar on the body. The gas mileage is a serious no go but everything else including the built quality is pretty copperbottomed Pricing of our Tahoe is more premium than the vehicle itself Took a little while to get going actually as the process felt quite time consuming but turned out fine eventually
Pros - Bigger engine, humangous nature, center navigation display
Cons - No wonder why there isn't anything
My 2021 brand new Tahoe is a happy driver and loves to go places What makes a regular suv touch the perfections? Maybe powerful engine with no evident flaws, space, robust nature and not just in driving but for looks as well, and a name that can be trusted. Tahoe checks all of it with style as topping Obviously doesn't have everything there is but features everything useful for daily driving or occasional adventures On the inside, Tahoe is full of space and with full I mean it. Never runs out of it when driving with 7 people with luggage at back. Won't feel crowded even then Chrome design with quite some character. The way it looks, it will never run out of trend Center screen shows all the info related to driving along with directions, something I've never had in any other vehicle Sure it is With monthly payments of $830 and a signing amount as good as it can get, I've got no issues with the money I had to put to be the proud owner of a 2021 brand new Tahoe in black It doesn't get any better than this
