With the 2021 year, Chevy Silverado puts the odd obstacles away from its road. Once trailing far behind the rivals in and being considered as a runt of the heavy-duty pickup litter, Chevy Silverado had a pretty bad reputation. But wait, all that changes for the 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 and as the all-new 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with all the new chassis and powertrain improvements stands against the competition with equal power and strength. Pre-owned silverado for half the price.
Chevy Silverado can literally pull mountains, all thanks to the 401 hp gas-powered V8 engine which produces 464 lb-ft of torque, which is easily overshadowed by the Duramax Diesel engine delivers 910 lb-ft of torque. The reinforced chassis and bolstered axel and joints allow the Silverado 2500HD to tow up to 18,510 lbs. Upper trims come with a host of expansive accommodations and upscale amenities. It has been in competition with the Ford F-250 and the GMC Sierra 2500HD for quite some time now and the RAM 2500 are still compared with them.

SUVs might be the need of the time, but pickup trucks seem to be evergreen love for the US car enthusiasts. This is pretty much evident from the all-new package that car companies are offering with their newly launched pickups. If this goes on then the 2021 year will see the pickup set the trend among buyers. The Chevy Silverado 2021 avatar justifies the above lines with its all-new characteristics and drive features that make it stand along with its competitors with more confidence and fearlessness.

The 2021 Silverado comes with 2 trim levels and can be configured according to the buyer's need with the option of various bed lengths and cab types. The base trim is the Work Truck which as the name suggests is purely based to be used as a rough workhorse and comes with the basic amenities and features to make the driver feel relaxed while transporting stuff.

Work Truck is the base offering of the Silverado 2500HD which is in true words a bare bone truck offered with the 6.6-liter V8 gas engine that is standard throughout the range and the Duramax engine comes as optional. A 6-speed automatic transmission is mated with this engine as standard however the buyer can opt for the optional 10-speed automatic transmission. Inside it has Vinyl seat trim 17’ inch steel wheels, an LCD monitor in the first row with Bluetooth connectivity, FM/AM, and satellite seek-scan radio for entertainment purposes.
Next in the lineup after the Work Truck is the LT trim which adds a bit more luxury and amenities which makes this a good entry-level trim for daily use a family or for private use.It comes with dual front LCD monitors, 17’’ machined alloy wheels, keyless entry, and heated mirrors with a bit more comfortable cloth seat trim.
Known for the budget-friendly offering, Chevrolet has always provided their cars and trucks at quite an affordable price which helps in having better sales figure and for the current model year the advancements, as well as the improvements in the Silverado 2500 HD has brought about a change in the market and has upped the competition for the rivals like the RAM and Ford.
Chevy Silverado 2500 HD is one of the most reliable offerings from the brand. With an overall rating of 86 out of 100 by J.D Power ratings, this truck stands at a respectable 2 position in the “Top 10 Consumer ranked Trucks”. This rating and figures are more than enough to explain the sort of service and truck that Chevrolet is providing. Even though it comes at a very less cost than the rivals it still has the trust of the owner by being reliable for the time of their ownership. The truck has seen a few hiccups for the 2020 model year with 4 recalls which are with regards to different issues and have been duly corrected by the automaker.

The true cost to own a pickup goes well beyond just the buying price of the said vehicle. The actual cost of owning and running a pickup includes the cost of repairs, fuel costs, and vehicles retained value.
The warranty on offer by Chevrolet for Silverado 2500 covers the truck for a time of 3 Years/ 36,000 miles and covers the drivetrain for a time period of 5 Years. The warranty package stands at par with the warranty on offer by the rivals.

The MPD of the Silverado is not something that it could boast off, as it is designed to haul around with heavy loads, owners have claimed that the standard gasoline engine puts out a combined MPG figure of 12 whereas the more capable Duramax Diesel puts out 15 MPG making the Silverado go 4.8 miles for every dollar you spend on it.
You have a choice among the two available trims- Worktruck which is more focused on work purpose and the LT trim offers a bit more features and comfort. Choosing the LT would be good as it enables the owner to haul around heavy loads and perform their duties all while being engulfed in a bit of comfort and entertainment features making the LT a better and budget-friendly choice overall.
The depreciation faced by the Silverado comes as a hard-hitting cost as it depreciates for about 46 percent in the first year. This makes the cost of a year-old Silverado work truck almost half the price at which it was bought. It is quite a bargain as the Silverado comes new from the dealership at an already reasonable price. If you want a spare work truck or a vehicle which you can use to haul stuff or just load stuff and go on for trips with a caravan the Silverado is the best choice as it comes with a reasonable price, less maintenance cost, and can ramp up more miles on the road, being a reliable workhorse.
Under the hood, the base engine that comes as standard is the 6.6-liter gas V8 engine which is not able to pull the truck out of obscurity. This big V8 gives the Silverado a class-leading torque output of 464 lb-ft which enables it to pull up to 17,370 lbs. This figure is possible not only because of the engine but also due to the changes that have been made to the joints and chassis of the truck which helps it to compete easily against the segment leaders. This engine is good enough to push the Silverado around the city with relative ease, but if you want to reach a high speed in a rush you will have no luck as the acceleration tapers off very quickly.
The Duramax Diesel engine is one of the better choices of the two engines, it produces a whopping 918 lb-ft of torque added to this power output, the structural improvements allow the truck to tow up to 18,500 lbs. Just like the gasoline engine the Duramax Diesel also lacks in the acceleration department but in essence, a heavy-duty truck is not bought by people to have good 0-60 figures. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all the trims.

Ram offers the most horsepower from the standard engine but has less torque output than the Silverado which takes the win over the rivals.
Heavy Duty pickup trucks are not the sort of vehicles you get to see every day on the drag strips or the racetracks. That being said the trucks hide under the hood powerful V8 engines which help them to reach a speed of 60 MPH in under 10 seconds. The Silverado 2500 HD specifically takes 6.1 seconds to reach a speed of 60 MPH and these are not supercar figures but then these trucks are not meant to perform like a supercar but to tow weights and loads that are the size of these supercars.
Braking is equally important as is towing and high-performance figures. The brakes on the Silverado are big and also deliver equally capable stopping figures. Silverado 2500 HD takes 134 ft. to stop from 60 MPH which is less than the rivals.
Although the GMC is based on the same platform it weighs a bit more so the stopping distance might be a bit more than the Silverado.

Silverado although takes the least time to reach a speed of 60MPH it is rarely to reach that speed or any of these trucks would, it still takes a fair and deserved win in this segment.
When you walk into a dealership to buy a pickup truck its MPG figure is not the first thing that the salesperson would tell you about, and you wouldn’t even bother asking. These big powerful mountain moving trucks are precisely based to produce high torque and towing capacities which comes with a compromise of having less speed, and also with fewer MPG figures.
Trucks like these are also not tested by the EPA for their MPG figures but the 2020 model of Silverado is known to produce a combined figure of 12 MPG with the gas engine and although the Duramax Diesel engine produces more torque output it is more economical than the Gas counterpart and produces a combined figure of 15 MPG as per consumers.

Chevy has the biggest fuel tank just like its corporate cousin that is the GMC Sierra which allows for a better overall range as a bigger fuel tank can hold more fuel, which is a bit of a worry for the RAM as it can hold only 32 gallons of fuel.
The Regular cab can seat up to three people in its front row, bench which comes standard on the Work Truck and LT trim. The headroom and legroom in the cabin are generous and can easily accommodate even six-foot-tall adults without any discomfort.
The WT trim comes with four-way power-adjustable front seats as standard. The truck's overall height has made the visibility upfront good. However, this natural position also makes ingress and egress a bit difficult in the truck.

Silverado comes with a choice of two-bed sizes. The standard bed size is 6.8 feet long whereas the bigger bed is 8.2 feet in size. Cargo space is more than enough in these pickup trucks and big and heavy loads can be easily hauled around in the Silverado. Standard bed size offers a cargo capacity of 69.5 cubic feet which is increased to 83.5 cubic feet with the bigger bed.
Silverado and Sierra share the same dimension as they are cousins and take a win over the Ford and RAM as they offer more legroom as well as headroom making even the 3 seated regular cab a spacious place to be in and does not feel cramped.
Chevrolet loads up the Silverado with the latest offering in terms of infotainment functions. A 7-inch touchscreen display is offered as standard in the Silverado, but the functions can also be accessed via physical buttons and knobs around the console.
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity are available as standard with the infotainment. From the LT trim and upwards a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot with Chevrolet Connect Access. Sound output is delivered inside the cabin via a standard two-speaker system in the regular cab which can be upgraded to four speakers for the bigger cab variants and a more premium Bose 7 speaker sound system.
The exterior of the Silverado remains similar to that of the 2020 model year which already is a good looking chunky monstrosity. The front fascia is strikingly aggressive and will easily attract the people who want a truly imposing truck. The front grille is enormous with an intersection by a large horizontal bar that is engraved with a bold letter in the name of the automaker. The grille also changes as one moves upwards through the trim. Halogen headlights are available on the WT and LT trim. 17 inch wheels are offered as standard with 18 and 20 inches wheels available on higher trims.

Silverado is the longest, widest, and tallest of all the rivals, which is good as the body is tough and it looks menacing but the maneuverability in the city is an issue for such a humongous truck.
Heavy Duty trucks are not rated by the NHTSA or the IIHS so there are no ratings for the Silverado. The structural improvements in the Silverado prove to give it an even tougher and sturdy body which adds to the strength and also to the safety factor as the structure won’t bulge in the event of a crash. The standard safety offering on the Silverado is not something that is overly comprehensive but is still enough to keep up with the modern techs and also with the offerings from the rivals.
In every factor, we can easily say that the Silverado is better in every sense. It offers a better engine, interior space, and performance figures of the Ford F-250. It also comes at a price that is very reasonable and the value for money it gives is always better than the Ford.
However, the Ford takes to win in one sector that is the towing capacity. It offers immense towing capacity and takes the crown like it has been for a very long time. We would still prefer the Silverado for the asking price of the vehicle.
Both of these cars are cousins and come from the same owner that is GM. GMC has a better exterior, flashy interiors, and everything is the same in both of the cars. The Silverado has been ahead of the Sierra almost always and both are focused on their particular work.
Where the Silverado is focused on being a tough work truck, Sierra is focused on being a more comfortable and polished luxury truck.
Just like the Silverado, the Ram had an extensive redesign for the 2021 model year, which has been carried forward for the 2021 model year of the RAM. Both trucks are almost identical but the RAM offers more towing capacity than the Silverado, Chevy offers more interior space and advanced technologies like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
So here it is a choice of one's personal taste if you want modern technology and better comfort and amenities then you can go for the Silverado whereas if you want basic and powerful trucks then the RAM is your go-to choice.
Chevrolet has given the pickup truck segment a true gem with the 2021 Silverado. With more basic amenities and infotainment features the list goes on. Both the engine options are equally capable and the towing capacity of the truck is the only section where it lacks behind the rivals, apart from that the Truck offers immense comfort, power, and tech inside the truck. In short Chevrolet Silverado is the best pickup truck on the market and with the current added structural improvements, increased towing capacity and comfort it will surely be a good use of your hard-earned money.
