Perfect for the family?

Pros - Fuel economy, roomy, rear camera.

Cons - No smartphone integration, looks, features

Family hauler Chevy Silverado 1500 From the very first day I drove it to this very day always surprises me with its power and pickup. The 5.3L motor is not just for show. The power it has and the amount of excitement it generates always exceeds my expectations. The power on the go is something I never expected from a truck. The transmission is just as good if not better. All in all, overtaking someone is a breeze! Fast, I wanted black, but it's ok. It is beautiful outside.

Beast of a truck

Pros - Torquey engine ,towing capacity, Quite cabin

Cons - Gas guzzling V8, overpriced, unsettling ride

Full power all the way! The engine in my truck feels like an overkill for me. Chose this engine for the power and now it is killing me with the gas bills. That said, take this baby off the road and she's sure to plaster a grin on your face. The torque is just out of this planet. Towing a full size camper is just a piece of cake. The cabin, though feels a bit low rent gets all the basic things right and has very easy to use tech. The cabin is very large and roomy but is not what I would classify as comfortable. Great dealership, huge stock yard and a few great people who are pleasant to work with.

Pickup trucks are the bread and butter for mainstream American brands such as General Motors, Ford, and Ram. These trucks also help millions of Americans to earn their livelihoods on a daily basis. For this reason, these vehicles are equipped with very capable powertrains and feature excellent towing capacities too.

For the power source of the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we found two different engine options namely a 4.3L V6 and 5.3L V8 engine. Both the engines are powerful enough to enable the Silverado 1500 to take on any challenge that comes in its way. On the transmission side, the pickup truck gets a standard 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode. In the pickup truck segment, the 2017 Silverado 1500 has to face a strong challenge from three of its major adversaries i.e. Nissan Titan S, Ford F-150, and the Toyota Tundra.

2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Pricing and Features

7.5/10

For meeting the different requirements of the customers, Chevrolet has expanded the line-up of the Silverado 1500 up to four trims. The base trim is named Work Truck, which has a starting price of $27,975 while above it the LS trim comes at $29,610. Moving ahead, the next trim in the queue is the LT, which gets a basic price tag of $33,860. Whereas, Z71 is the uppermost trim and it has numerous advanced features resulting in its MSRP to settle at $39,280.

One of the main things worth noticing about the trims of the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is that all the three lower trims i.e. Work Truck, LS, and LT come with a choice between the AWD and RWD drivetrain. Whereas, the high-end Z71 trims offer only the AWD drivetrain.

We Recommend

Recommending a specific trim will be very difficult in this case as the choice of a trim mostly depends upon personal requirements. However, for moderate work needs, the LS trim can be regarded as the most economical.

Moreover, the durable chassis of the Silverado provides added stability and there is no need to put extra pressure on the steering wheel while cruising at high-speeds. The stability control and traction control features boost the vehicle's ability to drive easily even on slippery roads. However, the vehicle feels a little less confident while going into corners as is the case with all pickup trucks

2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Competition

7.1/10

2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs Nissan Titan

Despite having an almost equal price, it is the mighty 5.6 L V8 that makes the Nissan Titan more powerful than the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Moreover, the Nissan Titan's 0-60 mph acceleration time, ground clearance, cargo volume, and towing capacity is better than that of the Silverado 1500.

Nissan is a tad bit better-equipped and comes with old Japanese reliability which feels better than what Chevrolet offers and hence you know where to head if practicality and smart buy is a concern.

2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs Ford-150

Coming with a price tag of $27,110, the Ford-150 XL is yet another competitor of the Silverado 1500. On the upsides, the Ford-150 has faster acceleration, lesser 60-0 mph stopping distance, more fuel economy, larger cargo capacity, and higher towing capacity as compared to the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. On the other hand, the power, torque, interior space, and payload capacity of Ford-150 falls a little short in front of Chevrolet's Silverado.

2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs Toyota Tundra

The Toyota Tundra also puts up a competition with the Silverado with its numerous impressive features and specifications. First, looking at the price tag, the Toyota Tundra is nearly $900 more expensive than the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. However, for the additional price, the Tundra offers a much powerful 5.7L engine, whose power and torque figures are just outstanding. Additionally, the Tundra is a better option over the Silverado 1500 when it comes to the ground clearance, towing capacity, payload capacity, and acceleration figures.

2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Final Verdict

Comparing the price and features offered by the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab, it can be established that it is definitely a worth buying pickup truck. With the added ability of extra seats at the back it is a great family hauler and a workhorse. Moreover, the Silverado is available in many different variants, which gives flexibility to buyers in choosing the one that effectively meets their needs. Two-engine options, excellent safety ratings, good fuel economy, and roomy interiors are some of the main highlights of the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
