2013 Chevrolet Malibu!

Pros - Comfortable front seats. Humble pricing. Large trunk. Effiecient engine.

Cons - Cramped back seats. Interior quality.

An okay car for the $7500 price I paid! It has been my daily commuter for almost three years now. It is an absolutely fine daily driving car with a comfortable driving position and an effecient engine. the 19-21 mpg has been great for city roads. Although it is a mid-size sedan with a large trunk space, it is just not suited for long trips. The back seats aren't really comfortable with a firm back cushion that just isn't meant for anything over two hours of travel. Plus, the cabin materials are largely plastic which has really started to show it's age with discolouration and being brittle at places! I decided to wait in while the car was being serviced as I was told it's only a two-hour job. However, it was almost half day past and I didn't really got my car back. If they can't deliver, they shouldn't promise either!

Just OK!

Pros - Serene drive, skilfully styled dash, nice infotainment features

Cons - No spare tire, second-row seats not good for adults, rear visibility is slightly hampered

Quiet ride and nice infotainment tech The drive is serene and dash is styled skilfully. There is touchscreen, internet radio, bleutooth connection, and CD player, all of which work fine. But remember, it has no spare tire. The doors do not open wide enough, so getting in and out might be a bit uneasy. The second row seats are good only if you sit children or teenagers therein. The rear visibility is a bit hampered due to pillars and shoulders. I would have rated it much more than 5, if at least the rear seats would have been comfortable. I was there for scheduled maintenance and was there in the appointed time, but they didn'tt take my car in until 2 hours passed by.

Malibu Drive

Pros - Attractive, stylish, quiet and smooth ride comfort

Cons - Keylees entry is missing, but not a con.

An Upscale Sedan AM not a person who writes review but this is exception. Bought this car brand new after owning an SUV for 14 years. Very pleased with the ride, price and reliability of the Malibu LT. Looks sporty but still professional. The interior lighting is sweet!!!! Have noy had any compliments on my new vehicle and I love it. Keeping this one for a long time! Malibu is the sedan I needed. They helped me buy this with conviction. I quite like my car a lot. So thanks to them. One can visit if they are interested in Chevrolet.

We Recommend

The 3LT trim with the more powerful 2.0 L turbocharged engine under the hood that starts at $26,600 is the optimum choice as it is mid-level trim that comes with the more powerful engine and added features compared to the base level trim. It comes with features including dual-zone automatic climate control, remote vehicle starter system, full-color, high-resolution driver information center, driver 8-way power seat adjuster including power, lumbar control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and shift knob, 18" aluminum wheels, and fog lamps.

2013 Chevrolet Malibu Engine and Performance

7.2/10

The Chevrolet Malibu comes with a 2.0 L Turbocharged inline-4 engine mated to a 6-Speed Automatic transmission churning out 259 hp of maximum power and 295 lb-ft of maximum torque. The Malibu takes 6.3 seconds to reach a speed of 60 mph and 14.9 seconds to cross the quarter-mile mark. The Malibu has good steering, offering a good handling experience, and coupled with a strong engine, delivers good performance. However, the ECO mode of the Malibu is quite a lot more aggressive than desired and actually messes up the driving experience.

2013 Chevrolet Malibu Exterior

7.5/10

The 2013 Malibu looks quite beautiful, sporty, and simple at the same time from outside. The main exterior features of the Malibu include a curvy and sleek design language. It doesn’t come with any bells or whistles like a very aggressive design or chrome elements all over the exterior. But it delivers a naturally simple and slightly sporty exterior.

The front end features a small grille which is split into two and has the Chevrolet logo stuck between it. The projector headlamps and the lower bumper complement the grille in a beautifully designed manner. The rear end also looks attractive. The Malibu has a ground clearance of 6.5 inches.

The 2013 Malibu stops from 60 mph in a distance of 119 ft, which is an impressive distance considering the competition and segment. Major safety features include-

  • Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning
  • LATCH (Lower Anchors and Top tethers for Children) system
  • OnStar Directions & Connections Plan with Automatic Crash Response
  • StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System with Brake Assist
  • Theft-deterrent system: content-theft alarm
  • Tire Pressure Monitor

2013 Chevrolet Malibu Final Verdict

The Chevrolet Malibu is a very decent car, with enough power on disposal and offering good handling and a great interior. It is definitely a great choice in the segment. However, a major con is that it seriously lacks rear legroom and there are other competitors which offer a much better option. The Toyota Camry is a great example of the same. So other than this issue the Malibu is a great car to choose from in this segment.
