The XT6 isn't a bad SUV, but its appeal plummets when compared to others in its competitive segment - Motortrend

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is now available for sale at a base selling price of $48,990 and comes with only minor changes from the outgoing 2020 XT6. This premium mid-size SUV comes with two engine options, with the base 2L turbocharged inline-4 motor producing 237 hp being present in the Luxury trim. Both the Premium Luxury and Sport trims come with a more powerful 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 motor putting out 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. This motor also helps the 2021 XT6 to give out a towing capacity of 4,000 lbs and a combined gas mileage of 22 MPG. The 2021 Cadillac XT6  can also be had with both FWD as well as AWD drivetrains too. All the other interior and driver-assistance features like an 8" touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, heated and powered seats, leather upholstery, and automated emergency braking are offered too.

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is also quite competitively priced for a luxury mid-size SUV. You could lease the 2021 Cadillac XT6 for $529/month with an initial down payment of $2,651. This is for a 36-month term. However, if you would like to finance your ride, the 2021 Cadillac XT6 can be had for a monthly payment of $806, with a down payment of $2,622. This is for an estimated APR of 0.9%. Even though the 2021 Cadillac XT6's 5-year cost of ownership and the miles per dollar ratio are not known yet, we expect the 2021 Cadillac XT6 to be one of the most reliable offerings of the segment, as can be seen from the JD Power's overall consumer rating of 79 out of 100.

Both the Premium Luxury and Sport trims of the 2021 XT6 get the 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 motor. The Luxury and Premium Luxury trims can be had with both FWD as well as AWD drivetrains, however, the 2021 XT6 Sport is only offered with AWD as standard.

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 comes with many exterior features like 20" 6-split spoke alloy wheels wrapped in P235/55R20 all-season tires, sunroof, hands-free liftgate, IntelliBeam automatic LED headlights with LED DRLs, active aero shutters, and many more. 2021 Cadillac XT6 Buying Advice

7.0/10

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is available in three trim configurations and is offered for sale at a base MSRP of $48,990. Of the three trim configurations on sale, we feel that the 2021 Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury, which comes at a selling price of $53,790 for the FWD variant and $55,790 for the AWD variant, offers the most value for money due to the inclusion of an excellent list of features like blind-spot monitoring, 20" 6-split spoke alloy wheels wrapped in P235/55R20 all-season tires, hands-free liftgate, leather upholstery, heated and powered seats, and many more as standard.

the front chin spoiler, which helps with aerodynamics, scrapes on some driveways — a sign that you'll want to avoid off-roading - Edmunds.com

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 retains the same powerful 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 engine that pushes out 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of peak torque. As standard, the new 2021 XT6 gets a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission, which offers manual shift control and multiple transmission modes. Both FWD, as well as AWD drivetrain options, are available. However, the top-of-the-line 2021 Cadillac XT6 Sport trim, which is available for sale at a base MSRP of $58,190, comes with AWD only.

A new 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 motor headlines the most significant change for the 2021 Cadillac XT6 this year and is borrowed from the 2021 Cadillac XT4. This new 2.0L turbocharged powertrain punches out 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, which results in better fuel efficiency. The 2021 Cadillac XT6 can also tow up to 4,000 lbs, which is quite decent for the mid-size SUV segment. The handling is reasonable, with minimal body roll and understeer. The steering gives a decent feel and feedback too. However, the ride quality was quite impressive, due to the air suspension on offer.

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is a mammoth-sized SUV that weighs around 4,644 lbs, yet the 2.0L turbocharged  inline-4 engine pushes the 2021 Cadillac XT6 SUV from 0-60 mph in just 7.7 seconds. However, if this feels slow, you will have to opt for the pricier Premium Luxury or Sport trim, and the same beast helps to come out with a 0-60 mph time of 6.4 seconds, which is quite impressive for a mid-size luxury SUV. Available for sale at a base selling price of $48,990, the 2021 Cadillac XT6 also did the quarter-mile in 15.4 seconds and managed to achieve a top speed of 132 MPH.

Unsurprisingly, the XT6 shares design elements with the XT4 and XT5 crossovers - Kbb

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 retains the same design language as the outgoing 2020 model. Available for sale at a base MSRP of $48,990 for the Luxury trim configuration, the 2021 Cadillac XT6 looks striking from the front view due to the inclusion of the IntelliBeam automatic LED headlights with LED DRLs, pentagonal grille embossed with Cadillac logo, and a massive air dam. The bulging hood line and the active aero shutters also make the 2021 Cadillac XT6 a more aerodynamic proposition. Along with that, the 2021 XT6 also offers the best-in-class height of 69.9", helping this mid-size premium SUV to come out with impressive headroom for the passengers.

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 retains the 8 exterior colors of the outgoing 2020 XT6. Along with that, the side view of the 2021 Cadillac XT6 also looks macho due to the 20" 6-spoke alloy wheels, multiple character lines, and subtle fender flares. The chrome bezel around the window line also helps the 2021 XT6 to look more premium. The 2021 Cadillac XT6's rearview looks modern yet subtle due to the LED taillights, dual exhaust tips wrapped in chrome, and an integrated roof spoiler with shark fin antenna. The alloy wheels wrapped in P235/55R20 all-season tires also make 2021 XT6 stand out from the crowd. However, the length of 198.5" and the wheelbase of 112.7" were slightly lower than the competitors.

2021 Cadillac XT6 Final Verdict

Even though the 2021 Cadillac XT6 gets no major changes from the outgoing 2020 XT6, we were quite impressed with the new 2L turbocharged inline-4 motor on offer, which helped this mid-size luxury SUV to come out with impressive gas mileage, decent performance, and a much lower base MSRP of $48,990. Along with that, the interior space is also one of the best of the segment. To top it off, the 2021 XT6 offers an impressive list of safety and driver-assistance features too. Hence, if you are in search of a luxury mid-size family SUV, the 2021 Cadillac XT6 should not be missed out on.

Superb performance

Pros - Luxurios interior, Smooth transmission, Great infotainment system

Cons - Underwhelming engine

Full Size SUV I am all praise for this SUV out here. It has surpassed all my expectations. This XT6 was on my mind ever since its first launch way back in 2019. In 2020 I booked this car for its luxurious interior and its uncanny appearance. I mean the engine is not as powerful as I thought it would it it justworks fine when going up the hill or off road. The transmission is able to downshift and upshift easily. Lot of paper works for the Emi needs to bring in smooth and less process work.

Bizzare

Pros - Not that I can think of

Cons - "Fewer premium cabin materials than in rivals Seats could use additional support; Fuel Guzzler."

What a waste I wasted my 10 years saving on buying this piece of shit. I mean the fuel is going down the drain. I t is a fuel guzzler and on top of that has a hefty bill of maintenance. There are fewer premium cabin material which is kind of cheating after paying a large sum of money. It was my first time in a Cadillac rover showroom and it was top notch

Spacious Cadillac

Pros - "Roomy seats in all rows Above average overall cargo capacity"

Cons - Fewer premium cabin materials than in rivals

Airy and comfortable Cadillac The Cadillac XT6 is a wellrounded threerow SUV, providing the comfort and intuitive features Cadillac is known for in a practical package. Its sleek exterior style and roomy interior make it a natural competitor in the midsize luxury segment. The cabin offers six and sevenseat layouts, with some of the most userfriendly features in the class. Cadillac offers three wellequipped trims competitively priced for the class. Classic bait and switch advertising. Called and vehicle was available. Drove 55 miles and was told it was sold just this morning. But we called before we left and it was still available. Slimy people. Will never recommend or trust these people again.
