2021 Buick Enclave Price, Review, Ratings and Pictures

The 2021 Buick Encalve remains majorly unchanged from the preceding model year. However, in order to keep staleness at bay, Buick has amped up the standard feature list of the Enclave Avenir and Premium. Both these top trims of the 2021 Buick Enclave gets power-adjustable lumbar support for the front seats and a massage feature as standard. Moreover, Buick has also made the previously optional driver-assistance package standard on these trims that includes features such as automated emergency braking and lane-keeping assist.

The Enclave is a practical, spacious, and good looking SUV, which is idle for a big family and easy to use as a daily car. The prices of the 2021 Buick Enclave starts from $41,195 for the base Preferred trim and ranges up to $57,195 for the range-topping Avenir AWD trim. This is excluding a destination fee of $1195. For leasing, consider the 2021 Buick Enclave Preferred to cost $329/month for 36 months with 10% of MSRP due at signing. Of course, these figures might vary depending on the region you live in, they should, however, lie in the same bandwidth as mentioned.

All the trims, of the 2021 Buick Enclave, by default are driven by their front wheels. However, all but Preferred trim offer an optional AWD drivetrain as well.

2021 Buick Enclave Buying Advice

We recommend the ‘Premium’ trim level with the All-Wheel-Drive configuration for the Buick Enclave. The trim packs mostly all the luxurious features like heated and ventilated front seats with lumbar support, heated captain seats for the middle row, upgraded premium surround sound system, and many more. With a price tag of just over $51,000, the ‘Premium’ trim level holds a good value for the money.

2021 Buick Enclave Engine and Performance

8.0/10

" The Enclave also handles quite well for a big three-row SUV, never feeling ponderous or unwieldy." - Edmunds

The 2021 Buick Enclave is powered by a 3.6L Naturally Aspirated V6 engine that pumps out 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. All the power is efficiently managed by a 9-Speed automatic transmission. This engine provides a very smooth and linear power delivery, which when accompanied by the precise and smooth-shifting gearbox makes the 2021 Enclave a well-mannered vehicle on the city roads.

The gearbox routes all the power to the front two wheels or all four wheels at the same time. Except for the ‘Preferred’ trim level, all the other trims of the 2021 Enclave are offered with a choice between the FWD and AWD drivetrains. The ‘Preferred’ gets the same engine and transmission as the rest of the lineup, however, can only be availed with a front-wheel-drive configuration.

The Buick Enclave and the Cadillac XT5 get the biggest engine blocks in the segment with 3.6L Naturally Aspirated beasts under the hood. Moreover, the Buick Enclave costs about $132 per horsepower, which is actually lesser than some hatchbacks. The Acura MDX with its 290 hp costs the most in terms of cost per horsepower number. The MDX comes out at about $153 per horsepower, which is the highest amongst the competitors.

The 3.6L Naturally Aspirated V6 engine is one of the most efficient engines in the segment. The 2021 Buick Enclave can go from 0-60 MPH in 6.5 seconds. It even outperforms its rivals in a quarter-mile straight-line sprint with a time of 15.1 seconds. The 9-Speed automatic transmission also makes the gear shifts quick and effortless at low and even higher revs. Flat out, the 2021 Buick Enclave has a top speed of 120 MPH.

The Acura MDX MPG figures and Cadillac XT5's fuel-efficiency run in the same league. 2021 Buick Enclave Interior

8.6/10

"The Enclave's cabin is as roomy inside as you'd expect from a vehicle this size, and Buick has integrated many comfort and convenience features." - Car and Driver

The 2021 Buick Enclave's interior is a perfect blend of luxury and quality. The Enclave is well equipped with modern features. The Enclave provides for a very spacious cabin and seats 7 people with ease. The third row of the Enclave gets the maximum room in the segment and along with ample space, you can also opt for middle row captain seats, which further enhance the luxury quotient.

The tall cabin makes sure that there’s enough headroom for the 2nd row even with the available power moonroof. The available captain's chairs slide back and forth to make room for the passengers in the 3rd row. They also fold easily to make ingress and egress easier.

The 2021 Buick Enclave is not just about the spacing. It also gets some of the best luxury features like heated and ventilated seats, a well-designed and simplistic dashboard, and premium leather upholstery. Moreover, the Premium and Avenir trim of the 2021 Buick Enclave further up the opulence ante with features like power-adjustable lumbar support for the front seats and a massage feature being made standard for the new model year.

"The shape is hardly unique, but the Buick Enclave shines in its execution." - TheCarConnection

The looks have not been transformed much for the 2021 Buick Enclave as a major facelift is expected to take place for the year 2022. However, the latest Enclave still retains its distinctive Buick grille design and looks mature and peaceful. The whole concept of the Enclave is to be a decent family bus, which is practical and easy to live with on a daily basis.

The Enclave is not extravagantly huge in dimensions, which makes the maneuverability in narrow streets and dense traffic conditions easy and effortless. The Enclave also comes with HD surround vision which makes the vehicle easy to use and park.

2021 Buick Enclave Safety

4.0/10

The 2021 Buick Enclave has not yet been crash-tested by NHTSA or IIHS. However, since it's a carryover model, the 2021 Buick Enclave's safety ratings shall apply to the new model as well. The 2020 Buick Enclave has achieved a 5-Star rating overall from the NHTSA. This proves that the Enclave is impeccably built and is one of the safest cars to take your family in. It even gets one of the best structural strengths in the segment.

However, the Enclave possesses a rollover risk of 15% for the All-Wheel-Drive and 16.9% for the Front-Wheel-Drive version respectively, which does not come as a surprise considering the SUV's tall-boy stance. The 2021 Buick Enclave is loaded with a plethora of safety features. Meanwhile, the 2021 Buick Enclave Avenir and Premium also get driver-assistance features such as automated emergency braking and lane-keeping assist as standard, which were formerly optional.

Some of the most prominent safety features of the 2021 Buick Enclave are:

  • 7 airbags
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Electronic traction control
  • Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Front Pedestrian Braking
  • LATCH System
  • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

2021 Buick Enclave Competition

9.6/10

2021 Buick Enclave Vs 2021 Acura MDX

The Buick Enclave is powered by a 3.6L Naturally Aspirated V6 engine, which produces 310 hp as compared to the 290 hp 3.5L Naturally Aspirated V6 of the Acura. The Enclave feels more responsive to drive and feels very manageable through the city driving conditions.

The Acura MDX on the other hand is more frugal than the Enclave. So in case you want a vehicle with more power and punch, the Enclave is the right choice however, in case you want more efficiency in the trade-off with power, the MDX might seem like the right choice for you.

2021 Buick Enclave Vs 2021 Infiniti QX60

The Infiniti QX60 gets a smaller block than the Enclave and lower power output. However, just like the Enclave, the QX60 is well equipped and comes loaded with loads of luxurious touches like leather and maple wood. The Enclave however feels much faster than the QX60 and also feels more effortless to drive on freeways and highways.

However, the Infiniti QX60 ranks better than the Buick Enclave in terms of reliability. Moreover, the Infiniti QX60 is also comparatively less expensive to own than the Buick Enclave.

2021 Buick Enclave Vs 2021 Cadillac XT5

Coming from the house of GM, the Cadillac XT5 is closely related to the Buick Enclave. Both these SUVs get a 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 engine belting our 310 hp. However, while the Buick Enclave is a luxurious family van that offers a seating capacity of 7, the Cadillac XT5 can only seat 5

While the Enclave is no less luxurious, the XT5 makes it a bit grander and offers a more plush cabin. Apart from this, both these SUVs are almost the same in every facet, be its fuel efficiency, tech, or reliability. However, Caddy charges its premium and the XT5 is more expensive to own than the Enclave.

2021 Buick Enclave Final Verdict

Since the day it was launched, the Enclave became one of the most affordable and midsize luxury SUVs. The Buick Enclave packs both luxury and performance and with a starting price of just over $40,000, it seems like a bargain. The Buick Enclave is expected to go through a major facelift for the 2022 model year, however, the current model will take forward the second-generation enhancements.

SUV Luxury

Pros - Spacious cabin, spacious seats and great interiors with leather styling

Cons - Fuel economy is less

great space, updated infotainment for 2021 it's pretty smooth and comforting ride, balance in car is pretty great too. leather seats, heated seats, soft touch materials, sleek dashboard, design is great luxury in this car providing it sporty and sleek appeal, tpms, abs, turn signal warning it's good. value for money suv.

Is Enclave worth the money you gave?

The price tag is so high for the features it provides, that it fails to satisfy me.
