NHTSA stands as one of the most authoritative organizations in the market to provide reliable ratings for vehicle safety. The expensive BMW X7 has not been crash-tested by the organization since it got launched in the year 2018. This makes it hard for customers to understand the vehicle’s safety quality. But keeping in mind the quality BMW has always brought in their vehicles makes it a bit easier to expect superior safety. The expensive SAV like BMW X7 becomes hard for a crash test because the organization has to make a lot more arrangements than a regular vehicle.

There are no reviews for any of the years. IIHS checks certain parameters like head restraints, crash prevention, headlight quality, and many other factors.

The German company has been in the automotive industry for more than a century. The company which started in 1916 has made a name for itself. Modern designs and technologies have always been a high selling point for BMWs. The 2021 BMW X7 brings the top of the game SAV for its customers. BMW launched the luxury seven-seater SAV in 2018. The 2021 BMW X7 feels like a luxury comfort with tough performance. The SAV comes with a 3.0L TwinPower Turbo Inline 6-cylinder engine. The price of the base trim 40i costs $74,900, and the top end 50i will cost $99,800.

BMW does not shy away from bringing new technologies into their vehicles. The new 2021 BMW X7 is loaded with exclusive features and systems to keep the driver/passengers safe. The luxurious SAV is equipped with standard safety features like Anti-Lock Braking System(ABS), Automatic Emergency Braking, front safety belts with pre-tensioners, Adaptive LED headlights, Automatic High Beam, Rollover Sensors, Active Driving Assistance and many more. The SAV also comes with the parking features like Rearview camera, Surround View Camera, Parking Assistant to help the driver for parking the SAV safely and easily in narrow parking areas.

The two leading authorities in the safety department have not tested the 2021 BMW X7. The high price of the SAV has made it difficult for organizations to perform the crash test. The high-class SAV has not been tested even for the past two years. It is going to be difficult to give a clear idea of BMW X7 safety without checking a crash test by a reliable organization. One can still say that the SUV has been equipped with the most modern safety aids for the customers to keep them safe.

What Features make BMW X7 a Safe Pick?

The 2021 BMW X7 is loaded with the best features available in the automotive industry for the safety of the seaters. The systems and aids equipped in the SAV are helpful for the driver to avoid any kind of unfortunate collisions.

  • Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)- The standard safety feature in all modern vehicles; ABS works in the wheels to avoid any kind of blocking which could lead to unintentional skidding off the road. The standard ABS also comes with other aids like Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Stability control, and Braking Assist which help the vehicle to work most stably.
  • Lane Departure System- The system works on the sensors given at the font of the SAV. The sensor will detect any possible departure from the markings and inform the driver to keep the vehicle in the lane. The lane departure system can also turn the steering wheel gently to keep the vehicle in the middle of the lane.
  • Active Driving Assistant- The Active Driving Assistant combines multiple safety aids like frontal collision warning, active blind-spot detection, & speed limit info. The system applies the brakes as soon as it detects an imminent collision. This act of emergency brakes helps in avoiding the major damage.
  • BMW Assist e-Call- The automatic call system helps the passengers in case of an accident. In the case of an accident, an automatic call is done to the BMW call center to provide the details so that further actions can take place.
  • Parking Assistance- The Parking Assistance comes handy for the driver in keeping the vehicle safe during parking in congested areas. Features like a rearview camera and surrounding camera help the driver to avoid any kind of collisions while parking.
  • Automatic High Beams- Automatic high beams automatically dims the lights in case of an upcoming vehicle to save the driver from getting blind temporally. This aids in keeping the vehicle safe from any kind of accident.

Is the BMW X7 Safe Enough?

Even though the SAV has not been tested by the organization like NHTSA and IIHS, we can still base our verdict on the extensive list of modern safety features it provides. The safety features and systems like ABS, Active Protection System, Lane Departure, Automatic High Beams makes it a safe vehicle to go for. One can also notice that BMW sells the X7 with the specific name of “SAV” and SAVs are tougher and stronger than the usual SUVs. This also makes the BMW X7 a healthy option.
