The M50i is the more performance oriented version of the all famous BMW X6 SAV. The 2021 BMW X6 M50i will have a starting price of $86,250 and will be powered by a 4.4L Twinpower Turbo V8 engine under the hood. The 2021 X6 M50i will mostly be a carry forward version to the 2020 iteration. The BMW X6 is already a well talked about vehicle from the company because of its distinctive design and characteristics. The M50i gets more grunt under the hood as compared to the standard car.

Today the BMW faces stiff competition from its likes of the segment stalwarts like Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, Jaguar F-Pace SVR and the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. Here’s our take on the 2021 BMW X6 M50i that is soon going to be on sale in the market.

The X6 M50i has come up with flashy colors, especially the wonderful new shade of purple called Ametrin Metallic. The kidney-grille has been inspired by the X7.

2021 BMW X6 M50i SUV Competition

7.0/10

2021 BMW X6 M50i vs. Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

If their price is compared then the Jeep Grand is much lower than the BMW X6 M50i. However, the feature list of the Jeep is more than the BMW. Its performance, engine and power output are almost the same as X6 M50i.

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

However, when it comes to fuel economy, X6 takes the win here. X6 also has the largest exterior dimensions making way for a roomy interior. Jeep lacks on that front but it sure does have upmarket interiors.

2021 BMW X6 M50i vs Jaguar F-Pace

Jaguar F-Pace SVR is more powerful than the X6 and is significantly faster than the BMW. Despite its powerful engine, it offers nearly the same fuel economy figures as the BMW.

2021 Jaguar F-Pace

However, due to its compact exterior dimensions, it has a smaller cabin and low interior volume but it comes off as the lightest between the two. Jaguar is also priced way lower than the X6 making it a better buy.

2021 BMW X6 M50i SUV Final Verdict

8.1/10

Overall the BMW is a good, well known and responsive brand. The X6 M50i is the higher trim in the X6 lineup and it is obviously expensive. It gives some sporty and luxury feel and features that other models and the car does not give in that kind of price tag. But, there are many luxury vehicles that have some sections better than the BMW X6 M50i. Still, despite being a carryover model the expectations of the 2021 BMW X6 M50i are very high from us and the customers as well.

Bigger engine, m sport exhaust, suspension, and brakes, everything it's made up of is different than the regular X6 trims, not to mention with a bump in price as well. I drive tested both regular and m50i and streched my budget for the latter because of the throttle response entirely. Handling because of elevated ride height is numb at slow speeds but eases up anything above 35. And yeah, drives a lot better than my old 2011 X3.
