Overall Rating

The 2021 BMW M4 Coupe continues the legacy of the ‘M’ division. The M4 gets a 3.0L Inline 6 Cylinder twin-turbocharged engine and packs in enough grunt to make all its competitors lag behind. The M4 is a mean drivin machine and feels nimble and agile on its feet. The M4 is currently offered with a rear-wheel-drive configuration although an All-Wheel-Drive is expected to be introduced soon.

The 2021 BMW M4 Coupe trades in straight punches with the likes of Mercedes Benz AMG E53 and Lexus RCF Coupe. Read our in-depth review for the 2021 BMW M4 Coupe, to get a clear picture of how the M4 is strategically placed in the US market.

2021 BMW M4 Maintenance, Reliability and Warranty

BMW is known for making cars that are reliable and premium. However, some cars in its lineup do not offer a great value proposition like its competition. The 2021 BMW M4 Coupe follows the same trend. BMW makes the car which surely gives a tough fight to its contenders in terms of reliability and safety, however,J.D.Power has not rated the car yet.

Reliability and Ownership Costs

While the J.D.Power ratings are not available but the 2021 BMW M4 Coupe, just like other cars from the brand will be highly reliable and is easy to maintain in the longer run. However, the maintenance cost of BMW is not that low but is decent.

Earlier versions of BMW M4 Coupe have always scored high in terms of after-sales experience and reliability and we expect the 2021 version to be the same. Prices of the 2021 BMW M4 Coupe in different states vary because each of the states has different sales tax structures. Also, there are destination charges and dealership discounts that alter the price. However, people from the states of Delaware, New Hampshire, Oregon, Montana and Atlanta enjoy the best prices as the sales taxes are exempted from them.

The car is priced adequately and opens more range for the automaker, so if one is looking for a performance coupe then they should definitely check out the BMW M4 Coupe. Is buying a used car BMW M4 coupe a good idea?

2021 BMW M4 Safety

The 2021 BMW M4 hasn’t been crash tested by the NHTSA nor by the IIHS, however the 2020 iteration received a 5 star rating for rollover safety. BMW surely is a reliable brand and safety is their first priority from the beginning, so it's totally okay to say that the 2021 M4 will be safer than the current outgoing version.

The car features many driver assistance technologies like automated emergency braking and automated high beam headlights, will be there in the 2021 model too. Also, the brand has stated that they will make the chassis of the car stiffer for the next-gen 4 series models.

2021 BMW M4 Competition

8.9/10

2021 BMW M4 Coupe vs Mercedes Benz AMG E 53 Coupe

The two most luxurious brands in the industry, the BMW and the Mercedes compete very closely in the segment. The prices of both the cars are similar however the Mercedes E53 Coupe produces more power than the BMW M4 Coupe. In terms of performance, the Mercedes is ahead of the BMW, but BMW is better than the former in terms of space and looks.

Mercedes Benz AMG E53 Coupe

2021 BMW M4 Coupe vs Lexus RC F Coupe

The Lexus RC F Coupe is cheaper than the BMW M4 Coupe, having an engine more powerful than the M4. The Lexus stays behind when it comes to torque figures but comes ahead when we talk about power. The fuel economy of the Lexus is not that much good when compared with the BMW. If one is more into luxurious surroundings in the interior then they should go for the Lexus.

Lexus RC F Coupe

2021 BMW M4 Final Verdict

The 2021 BMW M4 will be launched later at the end of this year and it will take the fight to the competitors in the segment. The car is equipped with all features that anybody could think of and it has a great road presence, decent performance and fuel economy figures. To sum it up, the BMW M4 Coupe is a wonderful car. However, for proper car lovers, this might not be their choice as they might find other contenders with a better package.

Everything makes sense when you drive a bmw. The price point, the name hype, and the sports tag to it. Bmw is always known for the driveability of their cars and M4 helps will clear all the air on that once you hop in. It not only leaves a driver grinning on the seat when hitting the gas, it surprises with the high speed stability and no vibration on the steering wheel. On the ground level, the only issue I see with the driving is the tires(not bad) but run flat ones would have been better.

The German automaker seems to be stuck with the inlines which are good for power but can't be reworked for better handing precision. This is no regular car and should come with a far more better steering and tire connection which unfortunately isn't there. It however hasn't hampered my driving experience much but these basic issues are not appreciated at all. Glad they at least thought about having an optional manual transmission.
