The BMW 4 Series has always demonstrated the company’s idea of blending sportiness with a comfortable ride. Come the year 2020 and the BMW 430i Coupe leads by example. The ride possesses some serious sports-car dynamics along with a super-comfortable cabin. Under the hood lies a 2.0L I4, that can generate 248 hp along with 256 lb.-ft. of torque. However, if you want some more power, opt for the 440i Coupe which houses a Turbocharged 3.0L 6 cylinder engine that elevates the power figures to 326 hp and 332 lb.-ft. of torque.

Overall Rating

For the year 2020, this Bimmer gets a few cosmetic updates such as darker tail lights, black grille surrounds, and an updated rear diffuser. The ride also gets some driver aids as a standard highlight for the year. Rear-wheel-drive is standard across all models, and xDrive (AWD) arrangement can be procured for an additional cost of $2000.

The 4 Series has some alluring standard equipment and offers a bunch of extravagance highlights. The cabin is quiet and well laid-out and offers ample passenger space. All things considered, the 2020 BMW 4-Series is great with a wonderfully firm ride. This BMW faces stiff competition from fellow Germans, the Merc C300, Audi A5 and also the Jaguar XE.

The 440i, on the other hand, comes fitted with a 3.0L turbocharged 6-cylinder which changes the performance figures to 326 hp and 332 lb.-ft. torque. Our recommendation for the best trim

The 440i's six-chamber power is inebriating, however, the 430i should hit the sweet spot for most of the purchasers. Its turbo four-chamber is a solid entertainer, and the cash you spare can go toward attractive alternatives, for example, a versatile suspension, warmed seats, wireless phone charging, or an assortment of driver aids.

2020 BMW 4 Series Engine

8.0/10

When it comes to power and performance, the BMW 430i Coupe nails it. The ride in its base engine produces the power of 248 horses. The power kicks in at 5200 rpm and feels just right for zipping through the city lanes or cruising along the highway. The power may not give you the adrenaline rush but is still adequate for a remarkable performance. The shot of adrenaline is reserved for the 440i which holds 326 ponies and can unleash them at the slightest tap of the throttle pedal.

Speaking of transmission, both 430i and 440i comes mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission setup which fulfills the upshifting and downshifting duties pretty effortlessly.

How fast is it?

The BMW 430i catapults itself from 0 to 60 MPH in 5.5 seconds, which is the fastest in the segment. The Mercedes C300 4Matic takes a similar time span in order to showcase this skill. However, the 430i Coupe lags behind the Merc in the quarter-mile timings by 0.3 seconds. This gap although is very minute and barley comes to notice in the real world.

What about ride and handling?

The 4 Series is a complete nanny when it comes to providing comfort to its passengers. The ride is the best one can get for going some extra miles. The chassis setup of the 2020 BMW 4 series is highly versatile and can adapt to different situations and tarmacs in a snap. The Comfort mode goes easy on the ride and keeps things pretty relaxed.

2020 BMW 4 Series Ride and Handling

Switch to the Sport mode and the suspension gets stiffer and the ride just sans its relaxed family-drive character and becomes one hell of a corner-carver. The ride feels planted and stable at all times and does not experience any body roll when knocking down the corners in speed. The engine note is not very loud but its low hymn feels pleasant. The car feels like an ideal blend of agile handling and collected ride quality.

2020 BMW 4 Series Fuel Economy

6.0/10

Considering the firepower it produces, the 2020 BMW 430i’s fuel economy figures are really a surprise element here. The Bimmer gives out an economy of 24 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway, making a combined MPG figure of 28, which oughts to be the best in the segment.

The front belt consolidates the popular kidney-grille with LED headlights flanked on either side pursued by mesh-grilles fitted with fog lights. Longnose with unpretentious cuts and the Beemer symbol make up the hood of the 430i. Detailed parallel character lines keep running over the side profile, and profoundly directed air inlets rest close to the bumpers.

Aerodynamically intended to aid the car's performance, the 182" long smooth profile moves right towards the back. On the back is commanded by a plain and straightforward belt with LED brake lights and double tailpipes on the back left. The coupe has a ground clearance of 5-inches, which makes it a bad choice for conquering the rough tracks.

2020 BMW 4 Series Final Verdict

Should you buy the 4 Series Coupe?

Attempting to mix sport with solace? Give the 430i a chance. The car can take into account a family of four while adding to the devotee who'd need to take it out for a wild spin. With a lot of highlights on board to keep things intriguing and innovative, the 430i is a great set of wheels from the Bavarians.

Its fundamental rivals do anyway give it an extreme competition however the 430i still figures out how to keep up its head and keep them on their toes. Like the C300 of the Mercedes-Benz or the A5 of that of Audi who're principle German opponents to the Bavarian coupe, the Beemer is a blend of both the cars put in one is as yet an extraordinary purchase in any case.
