Alfa Romeo

One of the most interesting things about Alfa Romeo is its franco roots. It all started around 1906 in a suburb of Milan, where French automaker Dirac erected an automobile factory but when the economy soured a few years later the businesses manager director and Italian aristocrat acquired this facility than in June 24th, 1910. he rechristened the company and began building cars under a new name, Alfa and Romeo half came a few years late.

The very first alfa branded car was called the 24HP. even though its 4.1-liter engine delivered 25 horses, this apparent discrepancy has to do with its taxable power rating. well-engineered and quick, it delivered a terrifying top speed of 62mph. Wooden spoke wheels were provided with just two rear drum brakes.

Alfa is not a particular place, thing or even somebody's name, its an acronym standing for Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili. basically, that means the Lombard automobile factory company. In 1915 World War I, automakers supplied guns, hardware, and ammunition to their respective nations. however, Alfa lacks the funds to switch over to wartime production which is where Nikola Romeo enters. who was a prosperous engineer and entrepreneur? He acquired the firm building aircraft engines and portable compressors, making a mint in the process naturally as a new owner he had to add his name to the concern and Alfa Romeo as we know it today was born.

The company’s logo is comprised of several elements, the red cross, and white filled motif on the left is borrowed from the Milanese coat of arms. while the snake eating a mon on the right, comes from the Visconti family crest. Alfa Romeo was effectively acquired by the Italian government in 1933 and the company remained under nation control until 1986 when FIAT bought it. In 1995 Alfa Romeo stopped exporting cars to the united states, except for about a hundred examples of the beautiful 8C Competizione which was delivered around 2007.

They returned to the American market once more in 2015 starting with their 4C sports car. The current lineup includes four cars, one in each segment of a hatch, sedan, sports, and crossover.

Alfa Romeo’s future plan seems to be changing direction. If reports to be considered, the company has sidelined its plan of introducing two new future sports cars. Upcoming cars were based on a refreshed mid-engine design concept based on the Giulia sedan. Taking their place is a heavy SUV lineup. As all brands are shifting toward the SUV market with some even planning to stop production of cars other than SUV. Turning in the same direction Alfa Romeo is also planning to stop the production of small cars. This revised plan means the performance-focused cars which were planned to reboot the brand will no longer come to the production line. In place of sports cars, Alfa Romeo will produce two SUVs one is a compact SUV which will get launched in 2021 and the other one is a small SUV still under covers, expected to launch near 2022. The current lineup will also get refreshed by 2021 with new models of the Giulia and the Stelvio.
